When Spandex Moments Lead to Unexpected Growth: Pivoting with Purpose
Ever feel like life has rolled you up, wrung you out, and tossed you in a cart? That's exactly the stretch I've been experiencing lately—and surprisingly, I'm grateful for it.
When my new job opportunity appeared, my first thought was about everything I'd lose: freedom, flexibility, and precious time with my grandsons. But looking deeper, I discovered what I truly needed: financial stability, structure, and new connections. The universe has a funny way of delivering exactly what we need, even when it comes in unexpected packaging. This position literally found me, not the other way around, and I'm choosing to embrace it with deep, lesson-kind-of gratitude.
My vision for destination retreats has transformed too. While Machu Picchu and beach getaways remain on my vision board, my new schedule has inspired something different yet equally magical: weekend escapes just an hour away. These mini-retreats will still feature movement, connection, and yes—wine—reminding us that wellness doesn't require distant travels. Keep an eye out for my upcoming fall retreat that's sure to fill quickly!
Perhaps most surprising has been my Plexus journey. It's been transformative not just for my health but as financial support during this transition. I've witnessed incredible changes in energy, inflammation, gut health, sleep, and more—especially for those consistent with the products. Whether you're interested in the health benefits or the business opportunity, I'd love to connect.
When life stretches you like spandex, it's creating space for growth, abundance, and new purpose. If you're navigating your own stretch right now, I see you, I'm with you, and I'm cheering you on. Send me a message or share this episode with a friend who might need to hear that their current stretch is leading somewhere beautiful. Let's pivot with grace together—breathing deep and rolling with whatever cart life throws us into.
Thanks so much for listening!

Pour something in your glass that makes you happy, because it's time for Spandex and Wine. Hey friends, welcome back to the Spandex and Wine podcast.
Speaker 1:So the guest that I had lined up for today we had a conversation. Well, actually, I can't even say we had a conversation. Well, actually, I can't even say we had a conversation. He was very excited to share all of his information to the tune of being well over an hour, and I thought, oh gosh, okay, I don't think I want to publish that long of a episode right now. So I'm going to go back and I will edit that and share all of his knowledge with you at a later episode.
Speaker 1:So today's episode is called Spandex Moments when Life Stretches you, because you know, life doesn't just stretch you. Sometimes it rolls you up, it wrings you out and throws you in a cart. But I've learned something important If you hang on and lean into the stretch, it can lead you to exactly what you didn't know you needed. So I've got a few stretchy moments, some recent pivots in my own life that are challenging me and teaching me and ultimately leading me to something better. So, first up, the new job. I mentioned that on the last episode and I also mentioned that, you know, initially I kind of thought is this a setback? And I thought am I really giving up all my freedom and my time with my grandsons? Oh, my gosh, you guys, that part really still stings. You know how much I love being a nana. But you know, the thing is, this job is giving me something I really needed after making some shifts in my fitness business and you know the area of financial stability, and it's giving me structure and exposure to new people who might fall in love with this podcast or maybe Plexus, or even training with me. So I'm looking forward to that and I'm choosing to look at everything that I am gaining and I am grateful. I'm also grateful that this just kind of fell into my lap. I had someone reach out and call me. I wasn't, didn't think I was looking for a position like this, but it found me. So I mean, I think that's kind of cool and it's not just going to be a fake. It till you make it kind of gratitude. I am deeply grateful for the lesson, kind of grateful, if that makes sense. So, yeah, it's going to be a stretch, it's going to be interesting trying to juggle everything that I'm doing, but I think it's going to help me with time management skills and organization too. So I think it is a step forward and I'm looking forward to the opportunity.
Speaker 1:So the other thing that I have mentioned that I needed to change, if you will recall, retreats. So remember when I said I wanted to do a hiking retreat and a beach retreat and even go big with Machu Picchu. Well, all of those things are still on my vision board, still things that I want to do, but with my new schedule I'm going to have to shift and what I realize is that I might not be able to take and do a full on retreat like I would want to, but it's going to allow for weekend getaways and you know that sounds. It sounds kind of dreamy to me too, and since I'm off early on Fridays now or will be, and don't start until noon on Mondays. I mean, that allows for a long weekend, right? So I'm planning retreats that are just within an hour's drive and maybe just little escapes that we're going to have full of movement that is important to me you heard me talk about that before and connection and, yes, of course, a glass of wine or two and a reminder that wellness doesn't have to be complicated or far away, right Like we can just do this right here and it'll still feel like a nice getaway. And I already have one in the works for this fall. It's going to fill up fast, I feel like, and I'm going to try and get all the information out really soon before I start at the country club, because I want you guys to have that, and I'm looking at some super fun fitness classes to go with it. So watch for that. So, yeah, I'm pivoting, but I'm keeping my integrity. I'm rolling with it all arms and legs in the cart and trusting it's all unfolding the way that it is supposed to.
Speaker 1:And one last thing that I wanted to share. I know this is a short episode today, but you know I'm saving you from an hour, right? So, last but not least, let's talk about Plexus for just a moment, and you guys know I don't promote something that I don't believe in, but Plexus it has been a godsend for me, for Dave and for so many of my clients. I have watched it help with energy, joint pain, inflammation, gut health, skin, sleep, weight loss I mean you name it and a lot of it. If you saw my post this week, I've been talking about consistency, and those that are consistent, those that are sticking with it, those that have that right mindset are seeing changes and it is super exciting to watch. I can't even tell you how exciting it is. You guys know I just want to help everyone feel healthier and happier, and it's unfolding right in front of my eyes. And you know that has been a financial blessing as well, especially during the pivot of everything that I've been doing, and I've already qualified for one trip and I'm on track for another and I'm on track to earn a Plexus.
Speaker 1:Hello, this is Plexus. We're talking about Alexis. I'm excited about that, but the income has been exactly what I needed during this stretch and it's only growing daily. So if you are looking for something new, or even just something more, I would love to help you get started. Whether you want the business side, that would be wonderful. If you are just interested in the products, I am here for that as well.
Speaker 1:Sometimes you go looking for something and you find it. It might not show up how you expected, but it shows up, and when it does, don't miss it. It might not show up how you expected, but it shows up, and when it does, don't miss it. So that's all that I have for you today. Just a few stretchy, spandex style updates from my own life. Just real talk from a woman who's learning and relearning how to pivot with grace and remember, when life stretches you, it's not always a bad thing. Sometimes it's making room for growth, for abundance, for new connections and new purpose. So hang on, breathe and roll with the cart. So if this resonated with you, send me a direct message or share the episode with a friend who's in the middle of their own stretch. I mean, I see you, I'm there with you, I'm cheering you on and I know you guys are cheering me on as well. So I'll be back next week with another episode where we will stretch and sip and keep it real. Cheers, friends. Thank you for listening.
