Building a New You Every 30 Days
Cellular regeneration might sound like science fiction, but it's happening in your body right this minute. Your skin completely renews every month, your gut lining rebuilds every few days, and your red blood cells are replaced every season. You are literally not the same person you were a month ago!
But here's where things get interesting: the quality of this amazing renewal process depends largely on your gut health. When Robin talks about being "geeky" about cellular regeneration, she's uncovering the hidden connection between gut function and how well your body rebuilds itself. A compromised gut means compromised cellular regeneration, which manifests as fatigue, slow healing, and that frustrating feeling that your energy just won't kick into high gear.
The podcast breaks down three critical connections between gut health and regeneration: nutrient absorption (providing quality building blocks for new cells), reduced inflammation (allowing your body to focus on repair instead of firefighting), and efficient detoxification (especially important for those who enjoy the "wine" part of Spandex and Wine!). These foundational elements determine how well you bounce back from workouts, how vibrant your skin looks, and your overall energy levels. Robin also shares details about upcoming opportunities to improve your gut health, including a three-day nutritionally supported fast and a free September salad challenge to build veggie-eating habits. Want to glow from within, recover faster, and feel energized? It starts with gut health and cellular regeneration.

I hope you learn a little, laugh a lot and, along the way, know you're not alone on this balanced wellness journey. Ready to jump in? Pour something in your glass that makes you happy, because it's time for Spandex and Wine. Hey friends, welcome back to the Spandex and Wine podcast. I'm your host, robin Hackney, where we talk all things health and happiness and a splash of wine here and there. And today I want to geek out a little bit, but I promise it's the fun kind of geeky. I'm not going to get too technical or sciencey on you, don't worry. Talking about something your body is doing right now, at this moment, without you even thinking about it, and it is the secret behind glowing skin, faster recovery and just feeling like the best version of you. It's called cellular regeneration and your gut is the behind-the-scenes star of the whole show.
Speaker 1:But first our affirmation. It is Tuesday and we will go through this affirmation three times. You know the drill. I will say it. I'll give you time to repeat it out loud. If you are in a place where that would be really awkward, then just say it quietly to yourself. That's fine. I do like the out loud, though, so that's a possibility. Please do that. So I will say it, you'll repeat it, we'll do it three times, then we'll move on to the episode.
Speaker 1:Okay, here we go. My body is renewing, restoring and thriving at every level. My body is renewing, restoring and thriving at every level. My body is renewing, restoring and thriving at every level. Okay, let's jump in. I think this is so cool. Your body is basically a construction site 24-7. Your skin is brand new every 28 to 40 days, your gut lining is fresh and rebuilt every three to five days, and even your red blood cells pack it up and get replaced every three to four months. I mean, that's just so cool, and we're literally rebuilding ourselves all the time, which means you're not the same person you were a month ago Like physically, you are not the same person, and if your gut is off, meaning you have inflammation. And if your gut is off, meaning you have inflammation, poor digestion, your blood sugar's out of whack or your microbiome is oh, that's the gut's little ecosystem. We've talked about that before. If that's off, your body cannot make those new cells as well, and that's when you start to really feel it like you're more tired and fatigued. You don't heal as fast and maybe just have that feeling where your energy just is stuck and won't get out of first gear.
Speaker 1:So why gut health matters for regeneration and why I get so fired up about gut health? Three different things that we'll touch on. Number one better nutrient absorption. Your cells can only be as strong as the building blocks that they're made of, and a happy gut makes sure those nutrients actually get to where they need to go. And second, less inflammation. We all want that. When your body isn't constantly fighting fires, it can focus on repair instead of just that inflammation and listen up on this one this is where the wine part of the podcast comes in Efficient detoxing. So a healthy gut keeps the bad stuff moving out, so your body can put its energy into creating the new instead of always cleaning up the old. So, bottom line the healthier your gut, the better you regenerate, which means more energy, faster recovery and, yeah, that inside out glow that we all want, right? Everyone wants better skin. So if you've been feeling tired or slow to bounce back after workouts, or like your skin just isn't as vibrant as it used to be, it might be time to really focus on your gut a little bit more and show it some love, and you can start with simple things fiber, protein, probiotics, hydration and see how your body likes that.
Speaker 1:I'm here to help you. I've talked about this so many times and I'm here to help you. You know I've talked about this so many times and I'm helping so many people with this that I would love to help you along the way. So please, please, reach out if you're experiencing any of those symptoms. I like to help people get to the root cause, not just a Band-Aid like something that's really going to help. So, yeah, just reach out.
Speaker 1:Okay, a couple updates. I have a group of ladies that are going to be doing the three-day nutritionally supported fast with Plexus called Reset, and you've heard me talk about it before. I've done it a couple times. The first time, I lost four and a half pounds and five and a quarter inches. The second time, I lost four pounds, and I failed to do my measurements on the second time, so I'm not sure how many inches. I lost on that one. But they are doing it.
Speaker 1:September 1st to 3rd Doesn't mean you have to do those exact days. That group is getting started on that day. But if you want to jump into that or if you want to do the following week or maybe later in September, I am here for you and would love to get you going on that. And also, it's not too late to get signed up for the salad challenge. We did it last year. It is free and it's a tool to get you eating more veggies and to build a healthy new habit. What I do is I send a text every day in September around I usually do it around 11 central, just to remind you to get the greens in for the day, and I think that doing it at the same time, being consistent, will really help you build that healthy habit. So you can text SALAD to 913-392-2877, or you can send me an email at infoandspandexandwinecom and I will get you on that list. Okay, friends, so here's to a healthy gut, a healthy glow and a body that's always renewing itself. Cheers. Thank you for listening.
