Day 16 of a 49 features a Flow Meditation. This 49 Day Meditation Series is based on the Art of Conscious Evolution Chakra deck by Kate Lemay. Today's theme is Flow in the Sacral, Second Chakra or Svadhisthana. Kate's 49 paintings each honor a different chakra, 7 each for the 7 main energy centers. We will be moving from root to crown, and back down again, alternating for 7 weeks. I hope you enjoy the journey and are inspired by the paintings, themes and whimsy of the incredible artist, Kate Lemay.

Welcome to your Day 16 Meditation. Today's theme is Flow. I'll be reading the description of Kate Lemay's painting and chakra card, Flow.

This image highlights flow by depicting the natural movement of water in pigment. Imagine life as a river. There is greater ease in going downstream. Go with the flow.

Flow is your natural state. The mantra for this painting and card is I allow flow.

Find a comfortable position where you can maintain a nice long spine. If you can, close your eyes. Begin to tune into the flow of the breath moving in and out.

To create more of a wave-like breath, you could allow the lower belly to fill on your next inhale before bringing the breath into the upper chest. And as you exhale, deflate the chest, draw that belly button in toward the spine at the end of the exhale.

You could even imagine a wave like breath, where on the inhale the wave draws back and crests, and as you exhale, the wave crashes to the shore.

Feel yourself flow, just like water.

If you'd like, you could bring your awareness to a few inches below the belly button. Your sacral area. The color is orange.

And breathe into the idea of what flow feels like for you. Maybe it's the feeling where you're having the best day ever. Everything just feels like it's falling into place and you feel alive and free, carefree, like you're able to move through the world with ease, with delight.

If you like the visual of water, you could hop on any craft in your imagination or even just allow your body to float downstream on a river. Let the current just take you away. Will there be obstacles? Perhaps, but the river just flows right around them and so can you.

As you meditate on flow, you could whisper quietly, inwardly to yourself the mantra, I allow flow, and when you hear the sound of a singing bowl, you will know your meditation is complete.

Bring your awareness back to the flow of your breath. You can draw your hands to your heart center, palms together.

Namaste.
