Day 17 of a 49 features a Will Meditation. This 49 Day Meditation Series is based on the Art of Conscious Evolution Chakra deck by Kate Lemay. Today's theme is Will in the Solar Plexus, Third Chakra or Manipura. Kate's 49 paintings each honor a different chakra, 7 each for the 7 main energy centers. We will be moving from root to crown, and back down again, alternating for 7 weeks. I hope you enjoy the journey and are inspired by the paintings, themes and whimsy of the incredible artist, Kate Lemay.

Welcome to your Day 17 Meditation. Today's theme is Will. I'll be reading the description of Kate Lemay's painting and chakra card, Will.

Like water forming the Grand Canyon over time, steady energy in varying degrees in the same direction can create wonders in our world.

Apply steady and consistent slight edge action. And one day you will stand back in awe of what you've created. The mantra for this painting and card is I engage my energy.

Find a comfortable seat, or you can lie down. The idea is to maintain a nice, long spine. If you can, close your eyes and begin to notice the breath. How is it moving? How is it feeling in the body in this moment?

If you'd like to come into belly breaths, you can fill the low belly on your next inhale before bringing the breath into your upper chest. And then allow your chest to deflate, ease through that area, and draw the belly button in toward your spine at the end of the exhale. It's almost like a little balloon filling up the low belly and then the chest. And then the balloon deflates. Draw that belly button inward at the end of the exhale.

Draw your awareness to the center of your abdomen, your solar plexus, your power center. Your light can shine out from this area. Your inner light lives here, your will. How can you apply slight edge action over time, chipping away step by step to maybe slowly build a dream or a desire?

Applying energy over time doesn't have to be all at once, can help things not feel so overwhelming, can help them feel attainable and can help you be empowered.  As you meditate on will, you can whisper quietly, inwardly to yourself, the mantra, I engage my energy, and when you hear the sound of the singing bowl, you will know your meditation is complete.

Bring your awareness back to your body. Draw your hands to your heart center, palms together if you can. Take a moment to honor yourself and your will. Namaste.
