This bonus episode recaps Week 3 (Days 15-21) of a 49 Day Meditation Series based on the Art of Conscious Evolution Chakra deck by Kate Lemay. The theme of Week 3 is the Solar Plexus, Third Chakra or Manipura. Kate's 49 paintings each honor a different chakra, 7 each for the 7 main energy centers. We will be moving from root to crown, and back down again, alternating for 7 weeks. I hope you enjoy the journey and are inspired by the paintings, themes and whimsy of the incredible artist, Kate Lemay.

Welcome to your Solar Plexus overview. I'm recording 49 meditations for 49 days, and we are moving through Kate Lemay's beautiful Art of Conscious Evolution deck. She has 49 paintings, seven for each chakra. We are moving through it in exact order, one through 49. So our focus for week one was the root chakra, focus for week two was sacral chakra. This week's focus is the solar plexus. So moving up the chakras, even though we're moving up and down the chakras each week in order of Kate's paintings, each week has a focus. And week three, sometimes you come up against some roadblocks. It's power week, the solar plexus, the color is yellow, and it's amazing the energy that can either be created or resisted in this area.

So in Kate's Art of Conscious Evolution Deck, she has an accompanying book that describes each painting, the inspiration behind them. And in the Solar Plexus chakra, the Sanskrit name for it is Manipura, it means lustrous gem.  Core concepts are power, energy, ego, will, purpose, career, confidence, assertiveness, self-esteem, validation, vulnerability, combustion, transformation. The area of the body is the solar plexus (center of the abdomen), digestive system, liver, large intestine, stomach, and adrenal glands.

And Kate drew a lot of inspiration in naming her paintings, inspired by Anodea Judith, who has incredible resource books on the chakras, Wheels of Life, and Eastern Body, Western Mind. And there's great writeups and kind of summaries of different aspects of each chakra. And what Anodea offers us is the element of the solar plexes is fire and the inner state is laughter, joy, anger, the seed sound is RAM. And there's minerals, gemstones associated with each one, she mentions Amber and topaz, yellow citrine.

And there's also kind of astrological forces that are connected so she mentions Mars and the sun. The solar plexus is a masculine chakra. The main seven energy centers that line up along our spine. Beginning in the root and moving up to the crown alternate between masculine and feminine. So we're in chakra three. It's a masculine chakra. And in Eastern Body, Western Mind, she goes a little bit more in depth. We're addressing the issues around energy, activity, autonomy, individuation, will, self-esteem, proactivity and power. The developmental age in the solar plexus is 18 months to four years.

So there's your root, what you're born into, sacral, you're starting to individuate, then you're moving into how you assert your power and your realization of separateness from those that you've come from and how to be more autonomous in your life, how to be an act as an individual, and some things that can come up in this chakra are around shame.

I think that's such a big one. I think of Brené Brown and her work and research around shame and holding shame without even realizing it. And it can often come up in this area when you're trying to take action, when you're trying to be confident and have self-esteem and, how much can affect how you are and act and go about in the world. How you shine your light, right? Your inner fire, what inspires you, what lights you up, how to act from that place and not have it coming from an ego place, you know, trying to be better than someone else. And, really acting from love and from pure will, rather than from shame or from hate.

As with all the chakras, take what resonates, leave behind what does not.  But it's a great way to work with energetics. I think of in the solar plexus especially, and especially the  first three chakras, I think of the work of Sue Morter. She wrote The Energy Codes, as well as Joe Dispenza. I think of his book Becoming Supernatural because they talk and address about how we can often get stuck in the lower energy centers, root, sacral, solar plexus. There's a lot of condensed energy in that area in our body and it's hard to move past those three. And once you move past them, you get to the center, which is the heart space, and it really opens up. You can open yourself up to love immensely in the heart, but oftentimes our traumas, things we store in the body are in the lower three energy centers. So just to be aware of that, I'll reference those as well. But, to also just be curious, right, about what kind of comes through for you in each one. In this particular series of Kate's,  the third series, Transformation series, we moved through Path, Flow, Will, Relationship, Communication, Connected, and Rainbow Bridge. So those were the energies that we were moving through. It's a beautiful series.

Let me know what you think about the solar plexus. It's just such an interesting one, it being the power center, and it being our gut, our gut instinct. And there's a huge correlation, I feel, between, if you look at a color wheel, the opposite color of yellow is the crown, purple, right? So your brain gut connection. And how once you can get past and transform through the solar plexus, it can really help to liberate you and to open you up.

And the same thing when you're trying to manifest something and you're drawing that inspiration down into the body.  How do you take inspired action? How do you, not act from a place of ego and really use your power for good? So that's the solar plexus. Obviously we could jam on about these for hours and hours.

I do wanna shout out to Chatting Chakras. It's a podcast that Kate Lemay, Lani Voivod and Christina Alexa created where they go a little bit more in depth about Kate's paintings and each chakra and the kind of story behind. So, shouting that out as well, because there's some beautiful information there to explore.

So I'll be back next week with our overview of the heart and let me know if you have questions, comments, I'd love to hear from you. Take care.
