Day 23 of a 49 features a Light Meditation. This 49 Day Meditation Series is based on the Art of Conscious Evolution Chakra deck by Kate Lemay. Today's theme is Light in the Third Eye, Sixth Chakra or Ajna. Kate's 49 paintings each honor a different chakra, 7 each for the 7 main energy centers. We will be moving from root to crown, and back down again, alternating for 7 weeks. I hope you enjoy the journey and are inspired by the paintings, themes and whimsy of the incredible artist, Kate Lemay.

Welcome to your Day 23 Meditation. Today's theme is Light. I'll be reading the description of Kate Lemay's painting and chakra card, Light.

This image is a bright full moon surrounded by the darkest night. We can see the smallest amount of light in the contrast of dark. Light aids in clarity. Light is the agent of seeing.

In the beginning, you are comforted by the dark using all your senses except for sight. In time, you are able to be with the light. Bringing light to a situation activates awareness, consciousness. The mantra for this painting and card is I activate the light.

Find a place where you can maintain a nice long spine. If you can, close your eyes. Tune into the breath, and maybe say hello to it.  Greeting the breath and witnessing how it's moving in and out the body can bring a little light and conscious awareness to it, can help it slow down a little bit. Something that happens automatically for us each and every day. Can we take a moment to greet the air moving in and out?

If you'd like, you can bring your awareness to the space between the eyebrows, the third eye.  With your eyes closed, you're bringing in a little bit of the dark. How do we activate the light? If you want, you can imagine a night sky and a bright full moon. Allow the light of the moon to charge you up. Ask it what you might need clarity around, help it guide you in your vision.

As you meditate on light, you can whisper quietly, inwardly to yourself, the mantra, I activate the light. And when you hear the sound of a singing bowl, you will know your meditation is complete.

(PAUSE TO REFLECT)

Begin to bring your awareness back to your body, back to your light.

If you can draw your hands together at the center of your heart. Namaste.
