Day 27 of a 49 features a Pleasure Meditation. This 49 Day Meditation Series is based on the Art of Conscious Evolution Chakra deck by Kate Lemay. Today's theme is Pleasure in the Sacral, Second Chakra or Svadhisthana. Kate's 49 paintings each honor a different chakra, 7 each for the 7 main energy centers. We will be moving from root to crown, and back down again, alternating for 7 weeks. I hope you enjoy the journey and are inspired by the paintings, themes and whimsy of the incredible artist, Kate Lemay.

Welcome to your Day 27 Meditation. Today's theme is Pleasure. I'll be reading the description of Kate Lemay's painting and chakra card, Pleasure. This is a painting of a gentle opening,  its  curves alive with sensuality, mystery, and promise. As we feel life moving in and out of our bodies, we experience joy and pleasure.

Porous aliveness is the feeling of allowing and being present, aware of the flow of life through your physical body. The mantra for this painting and card is I live in porous aliveness.

Find a position where your body can maintain a nice long spine. Close your eyes if you can. Begin to breathe into your porous aliveness. Maybe you imagine as if you're breathing in and out the pores of the body. Feel the sensation of the air on your skin, the breath moving in and out.

If you'd like, you can draw your awareness to just below the belly button. This is your pleasure center. The color is orange. The element is water.

And if you'd like, you could bring to the mind's eye a little pleasure carnival.  And it's okay if you don't like carnivals, 'cause you're gonna create your own.  There can be any kind of attractions at this carnival, any kind of food, doesn't have to be traditional . You get to create it in your mind.

What would bring you pleasure, joy, and help you feel your aliveness? Maybe it's a cozy carnival, maybe it's thrilling. It can be whatever you want it to be. The key is to not take yourself so seriously, lean into laughter, presence and just welcoming in that delight, that glee, whatever lights you up.

As you meditate on pleasure, you can whisper quietly, inwardly to yourself the mantra, I live in porous aliveness. And when you hear the sound of the singing bowl, you will know your meditation is complete.

(PAUSE TO REFLECT)

Begin to bring yourself back to your body in this present moment. If you can draw your palms together at your heart center.

Namaste.
