Day 28 of a 49 features a Tribe Meditation. This 49 Day Meditation Series is based on the Art of Conscious Evolution Chakra deck by Kate Lemay. Today's theme is Tribe in the Root, First Chakra or Muladhara. Kate's 49 paintings each honor a different chakra, 7 each for the 7 main energy centers. We will be moving from root to crown, and back down again, alternating for 7 weeks. I hope you enjoy the journey and are inspired by the paintings, themes and whimsy of the incredible artist, Kate Lemay.

Welcome to your Day 28 Meditation. Today's theme is Tribe. I'll be reading the description of Kate Lemay's painting and chakra card, Tribe.

This image is a nod to ancient Aboriginal art with the small dots. The larger circles reflect the process of mitosis, the natural reproduction of cells. In the beginning, we are born into our tribe by nature. Once we acclimate to our surroundings, it is possible to choose a tribe.

Trust you know your tribe. Your tribe is safe, creatively, expansive, and deeply connected. The mantra for this painting in card is I attract and expand with my tribe.

Find a place where you can maintain a nice long spine. Close your eyes if you can.

Begin to notice the breath. Sometimes just by bringing your awareness to it, it begins to slow down a little bit.

Bring your awareness to the base of the spine, the root chakra, the color is red, and we're gonna breathe with a little ancient drumbeat. We're gonna tune into the heartbeat of Mother Earth and our own heartbeat. If you want, you can cross your right hand across your chest, rested on the left side of the chest, and you can tap bump, bump, bump, bump, bump.

You can continue to tap and repeat the sound in your mind, but tune in to the beating of your heart, the heartbeat of Mother Earth. Feel that deep connection, that grounding, that rooting down into the earth and breathe in to your tribe. Reflect on your chosen tribe and the one that you came from. Maybe some of your original tribe are also in your chosen tribe.

Know that your tribe is safe and it helps you be who you are in this world. If you were to step into a gladiator arena with your tribe, they would surround you and cheer you on.

As you meditate on tribe, you can whisper quietly, inwardly to yourself, the mantra I attract and expand with my tribe. And when you hear the sound of the singing bowl, you will know your meditation is complete.

(PAUSE TO REFLECT)

Bring yourself back to your body. Back to the present moment. If you'd like, you can draw your hands to your heart center and take a moment to honor your tribes. Namaste.
