Affinity Meditation - Day 39 of 49
Day 39 of a 49 features an Affinity Meditation. This 49 Day Meditation Series is based on the Art of Conscious Evolution Chakra deck by Kate Lemay. Today's theme is Affinity in the Heart, Fourth Chakra or Anahata. Kate's 49 paintings each honor a different chakra, 7 each for the 7 main energy centers. We will be moving from root to crown, and back down again, alternating for 7 weeks. I hope you enjoy the journey and are inspired by the paintings, themes and whimsy of the incredible artist, Kate Lemay.

Welcome to your Day 39 Meditation. Today's theme is Affinity. I'll be reading the description of Kate Lemay's painting and chakra card, Affinity.
Affinity has a biological and chemical component. It is the attractive force causing permanent change between two energies.
In the heart space, openheartedness allows two energies to create something new. The mantra for this painting and card is I create with an open heart.
Find a comfortable position where you can maintain a nice long spine. If you can, close your eyes.
Begin to tune into the breath. Notice how it's feeling, how it's moving in the body today.
The heart space is where the breath resides in the body. So maybe you feel your chest rise and fall. You feel the air fill the lungs.
A beautiful heart-based practice can be to meditate to the sound of the rain. The pitter-patter of the raindrops on your roof or outside can sometimes bring tears to your eyes. The rain is a beautiful reminder to let go and surrender.
We are here in the heart, the color is emerald green, to breathe into the idea of affinity, that openheartedness and the energy of two things coming together to create change.
What does it feel like to you to have an open heart?
What does creativity feel like in your body? Does it feel open, expansive, free flowing?
As you meditate on affinity, you can whisper. Quietly, inwardly to yourself, the mantra I create with an open heart, and when you hear the sound of a singing bowl, you will know your meditation is complete.
(PAUSE TO REFLECT)
Bring your awareness back to the present moment. Draw your hands to your heart center if you can, and the next time it rains, let it rain. Maybe dance in the rain if it's available and is safe.
Namaste.
