Earth Meditation - Day 42 of 49
Day 42 of a 49 features an Earth Meditation. This 49 Day Meditation Series is based on the Art of Conscious Evolution Chakra deck by Kate Lemay. Today's theme is Earth in the Root, First Chakra or Muladhara. Kate's 49 paintings each honor a different chakra, 7 each for the 7 main energy centers. We will be moving from root to crown, and back down again, alternating for 7 weeks. I hope you enjoy the journey and are inspired by the paintings, themes and whimsy of the incredible artist, Kate Lemay.

Welcome to your Day 42 Meditation. Today's theme is Earth. I'll be reading the description of Kate Lemay's painting and chakra card, Earth.
There are four layers that make up the Earth, also known as Gaia, the crust, mantle, outer core and inner core. The outer layer is the thinnest and the lightest. The center is molten, pressurized, and dense.
Our layers like the earth's layers, each serve a purpose. Trust. If you go to the core, you will once again rise to the surface. Pressure is a privilege. This core pressure ignites flow. The mantra for this painting in card is Gaia power fuels me.
Find a position where you can ground your seat into the earth and maintain a long spine. Close your eyes if it's available to you.
If you'd like, you can inhale from the base of the spine through the crown of the head, and as you exhale, ground that breath back into the Earth, maybe even into the core of the Earth, drawing that grounded Earth energy up, lift it through the crown of the head, and as you exhale ground.
You can continue the grounding breath or just breathe in and out. Bring your awareness to the base of the spine, the legs and the feet, the root chakra, the color is red.
And feel your connection to the Earth.
Feel yourself grounded and rooted, supported and held.
And just like the Earth's layers, you can breathe into your layers. Feel the outside layer of the skin. And then go one layer deeper, one layer deeper until you get to the core of you. That inner core, that inner awareness is the most dense, the most pressurized. Breathing into the idea of pressure is a privilege and using that pressure for good, to allow you to unearth and birth something your own, but that is also for the greater good.
As you meditate on earth, you can whisper quietly, inwardly to yourself, the mantra, Gaia power fuels me.
And when you hear the sound of the singing bowl, you will know your meditation is complete.
(PAUSE TO REFLECT)
Bring your awareness back to the present moment. Draw your hands to your heart center if you can.
Namaste.
