Welcome to your Third Eye overview. We are in Week 6 of 49 Days of Meditations based on the Art of Conscious Evolution by Kate Lemay. Kate has 49 Chakra paintings, seven for each of the seven main energy centers in the body, and she has an accompanying deck.
And we're moving through all 49 paintings, in order, one through 49. So we are moving up the chakras and down the chakras, alternating for seven weeks. We are on Week 6, and each week has its own theme. This week's theme is the Third Eye, so we're in Chakra number six.
In Sanskrit, the third eye is Ajna, it means perceive. The core concepts are intuition, psychic perception, imagination, astral projection, overcoming illusion of duality, surrendering to divine guidance, meditation, illumination. The body scene is the brow, forehead, pineal gland, center of brain.
The names of Kate's paintings are inspired by the work of Anodea Judith, who wrote Wheels of Life and Eastern Body, Western Mind. And there's these little write-ups, just like in Kate's accompanying book to her deck. The element of the third eye is light, the body parts associated with it, besides the ones that Kate mentioned, Anodea also mentions the eyes. The color is indigo. The seed sound is Om. Animals for the third eye, the owl, and she mentions metals associated so it's saying silver. In herbs, mugwort, star anise, saffron. Minerals: lapis lazuli, quartz, star sapphire.
In Eastern Body, Western Mind, the element of the third eye is light. Ajna means to perceive and command. The purpose is pattern recognition. Issues: image, intuition, imagination, visualization, insight, dreams and vision. The color is indigo. Location: forehead, brow, carotid plexus, Third Eye. Identity: archetypal. Orientation: self-reflection.
Some issues you can come across in the third eye can be around illusion, distinguishing between illusion and reality. Developmental stage: adolescence. That's a big one. Developmental task: establishment of personal identity, ability to perceive patterns, basic rights to see. Balanced characteristics in the third eye: intuitive, perceptive, imaginative, good memory, good dream recall, ability to think symbolically, ability to visualize. Things that you can come up against: What you see doesn't go with what you're told, Invalidation of intuition and psychic visions, ugly or a frightening environment, war zone, violence. Deficiencies in the third eye can look like insensitivity, poor vision, poor memory, difficulty seeing the future, lack of imagination, difficulty visualizing, poor dream recall, denial, can't see what's going on, monopolarized, thinking one true right, and only way.
If you're in severe excess in the third eye, you might experience hallucinations, delusions, obsessions, difficulty concentrating, nightmares, physical malfunctions, headaches, vision problems. Healing practices: create visual art, visual stimulation, meditation, psychotherapy, coloring and drawing, art therapy, working with memory, connecting image with feeling, dream work, hypnosis, guided visualizations, past life regression therapy.
The sixth series of Kates that we were working through, the paintings we moved through were Transcend-Ascend, Inky Skies, Voice, Affinity, Power "I", Titration, and Earth. Beautiful, powerful Third Eye week, and I think I said during Heart Week that it's a close tie between heart and third eye.
Sometimes when I close my eyes, I'll see swirling colors and I never really wondered what that meant until I started to work with the chakras. And sometimes when you close your eyes, you might not see color at all, but I think there's the five Claires, right?
Clairvoyance, Clairsentience... I don't know all of them, but I'll reference them. And we experience things through our senses. You know, can feel or can see, or can hear or can smell. And you can go on like a little visual journey, where you visualize something.
Sometimes visualizations are really powerful. Sometimes people don't resonate at all with visualization. So imagining color, imagining a vision. You know, the movie in the mind. That's all Third Eye and our dreams, right? Sometimes we don't remember our dreams at all. Sometimes they're really vivid and, it's your subconscious that you're tapping into in your dream state. But if you're not getting a super deep sleep, you might not dream either.
So, there's a lot going on in the third eye and obviously in every chakra, and take what you need, leave behind what you don't. Sometimes one thing will really resonate.
But as far as the adolescence, I think of my a teenage self and I was like really questioning the meaning of life. And, music was super moving to me at that time. I felt super alive, but also felt so deeply at that time. And I resonate as a deeply feeling person, but something about those teenage years, right? How intense everything can feel and be.
Or maybe you felt super free at that time too. So, maybe looking back at that time and kind of correlating it, with your development, with that personal identity piece and how much of your intuition and insight gets formed in those formative years.
So love the third eye, love all the wisdom that it brings us, and would love to hear your feedback and what your thoughts are, right? Our thoughts live in the third eye.
We're about to enter crown week, possibility week, and we just moved through a manifestation series. So moving from the crown down to the root, the final week, week seven will start in the root and move to the crown. It's a very special series because it also has correlated the past few years with Kate Lemay's. Enjoy the Journey retreat series. We've been moving through the paintings in the seventh series of Kate's paintings, through physical retreats and what a treat they have all been. They've all been beautiful and unique and so it's extra special because of that. So shout out Possibility series. Buckle up. It's bound to be an adventure as they all are.
But wherever you are, remember to honor it. You're right on time and just sending you love and extra light, right? Because a third eye is all about light. Take care.
