Present Meditation - Day 43 of 49
Day 43 of a 49 features a Present Meditation. This 49 Day Meditation Series is based on the Art of Conscious Evolution Chakra deck by Kate Lemay. Today's theme is Present in the Root, First Chakra or Muladhara. Kate's 49 paintings each honor a different chakra, 7 each for the 7 main energy centers. We will be moving from root to crown, and back down again, alternating for 7 weeks. I hope you enjoy the journey and are inspired by the paintings, themes and whimsy of the incredible artist, Kate Lemay.

Welcome to your Day 43 Meditation. Today's theme is Present. I'll be reading the description of Kate Lemay's painting and chakra card, Present.
This is a gift for you. In this box, tied with a ribbon is your present. As we bring our dreams into the world, we are met with the force of physical matter. To birth this dream into life, we must be present.
It is important to engage in activities that help us remain alive, awake, alert, and present. The mantra for this painting and card is I am.
Find a comfortable seat where you can maintain a nice long spine. Close your eyes if it's available to you.
Bring your awareness to your breath.
The breath allows us to greet the present moment again, and again. Each breath is a new opportunity to be present.
If you'd like, you could even box breathe where you trace the shape of a box, inhaling drawing one side of your square. Exhaling drawing the second side. Inhale the third and exhale the fourth, and you can continue to draw that shape of a box. It is a beautiful technique to create equal lengths on both the inhale and the exhale, and to slow the breath down a little bit.
So you can continue to box breathe if you would like or breathe normally.
Bring your awareness to the base of the spine, the root chakra, the color is red.
And I want you to imagine in your mind's eye, the vision of a present. So allow your present to appear before you. Maybe it's a box tied with a ribbon, maybe it's sparkly, maybe it's shiny.
Allow your present to appear before you, and you're gonna open the present and see what's inside.
Maybe there's nothing inside. Maybe it's just the present moment. Maybe there's a little treasure and you hold it close to your heart.
Breathe into what makes you feel alive, awake, alert, and present.
As you meditate on present, you can whisper quietly, inwardly to yourself the mantra, I am. And when you hear the sound of a singing bowl, you will know your meditation is complete.
(PAUSE TO REFLECT)
Bring your awareness back to the present. Draw your hands to your heart and remember that just like the present, you too are a gift. Namaste.
