Welcome to the podcast episode 65 believing your permanent weight loss is inevitable. I had over 100 women sign up for my epic training last week. Five weight loss mistakes and how to stop making them. I delivered this training on Thursday. It was so fun. I love teaching live like over zoom. I love live in person as well, but over Zoom is equally as fun. And this was the first time I actually taught in real time a little bit about neuroplasticity and how the brain and habit formation occurs. And I it's it was fun to to take something that is normally, like, very sciency, and really distill it down to where we can digest it in our normal, non sciency lives, you know, and apply it to, it's like, you can take neuro plasticity and how the brain can be changed and apply it to, like, why you struggle not to eat Doritos. I mean, like, it's just absolutely amazing. So thank you to everyone who came and watched that training with me. Okay, we're going to start the podcast with me asking you a powerful question. Take a moment after I ask you this powerful question, take a moment, if you can, and actually stop the podcast and really think about it for a moment, and then start the podcast again. Here it is. Are you ready? What would you rate your body in life from one to 10, what would you rate your body in life right now? Okay, stop the podcast and answer that question for yourself now that you've started the podcast again. Whatever that number is, whether that number is four or six or eight. What if I told you that number was actually just a two? Let me explain as good as you think your life is. What if it could be so much more amazing, so much better than you currently think. Now, what if it could blow your mind with how much more enjoyable and aligned and powerful it could be? We get so used to being satisfied with where we're at or what we think is possible, or our progress, and sometimes we limit what is possible for us, Your number is based on what you think is possible. And could it be even better than you think it could be? Could it be that even though you think you're at a seven, for example, this is what I said the first time I did this exercise. I chose seven. Is it possible that my seven was really in the grand scheme of things, my seven was actually just a two in comparison to how much more amazing my life could get? This is just the beginning. This is what I'm trying to help you do in this podcast is realize, is believe that your life could be so much better than it is now, your body, your confidence, your love for yourself, your devotion to yourself, your the way you work out, the way you eat. It all could be so much more better than you could ever possibly imagine. And what I want to do for you is I want to get you believing harder that that is true. You hear me talking a lot about belief, and the reason is is the what you believe is possible will dictate what you create in your life. So last week, I created a new piece of curriculum for the women in my program. It was about building their belief, because belief keeps us going. Belief especially keeps us going when we have failures, and there are going to be failures, especially if you're doing something new, especially if you're changing things up as. Especially if you have upped the bar on where you are going, on what you think is possible, you are going to fail on the way there. And the belief that you're worth it, the belief that it's possible, the belief that it's possible for you, because sometimes we think it's possible for other people, but the belief that it's possible for you, will keep you going. And this is can be really simple. Let's just really scale it down to you believing that this time you can lose 15 pounds and keep it off. So many women I talk to, they're like, Yeah, I know I can lose the weight, but I just don't really believe I can keep it off. That belief, of course, we know, is based in the past. It's because they look at the past and they never have kept it off. So can you work at believing that you can not only lose weight this time, but you can actually become a woman who can keep it off? That is your work. So last week, I was creating this curriculum for my clients that are already in my in my program, because I want to help them continue to build their belief. Part of the reason we don't create the changes we want to create in our lives is because we really don't believe, you know, we don't believe it's possible for us. We sometimes believe it's possible for other people, but not necessarily us. We don't necessarily think that we can do it, or at the very least, we don't think we can do it consistently, or we don't think we can do it again, like sustainably, like in the long term. There is this thought that that even when women join my program for a while, there is this little bit of nervous energy around I'm doing good now, but I know I'm gonna eventually give up. And so that's one of the things I teach you when you join my program, is how to get back on. For a lot of women, all the evidence proves that they're gonna be going, going, going, going, and eventually just dive off and never get back on, except for then, like three or four months later they get back on. But it's this is story. Them, tell them they're telling themselves, because that's how it's always been, right? We really don't believe we can sustain it. We really don't believe that we deserve it, and we really don't believe that we know how a lot of times, we really believe it's not possible, because we're listening to society and all of the standards put on women, especially women in midlife, all of the conflicting information, I think that the the overall message is, it's not possible for you. It's very confusing. Women are very complicated. What did I see on Instagram? I follow a guy. That's great. I follow this guy on Instagram that he teaches women how to lose weight. And he was, he was showing this demonstration. He goes, here's the difference between men and women and weight loss. And he he had the word man, and under it, he just drew a circle. And then he had the woman, women, and he drew this huge scribble. And the little bit of problem with that is, I think it, it sends the message, yes, this is extremely complicated for us. And if we think back to the thought model, if we think back to our thoughts create our reality. And as if we think that this is extremely complicated, we will be confused and we won't do anything. And so part of our belief is this is complicated. This is too hard for me. I'm in midlife, all that, and that is what we are creating in our life. There needs to be some level of belief in order for us to move forward. And for some people, the very little piece of I call it like the baby belief, is hope. And that's a beautiful thing, like the first thing, if you have hope, if you just have the desire and the hope, that's like baby belief, we just need to build on it. So in my program, I'm teaching them different strategies to build their belief. And one of these strategies I've created is called Vision walking. This is something I've been doing for at least a year now. It's either vision walking or vision running, depending on whatever you today, I'm going to vision run, but sometimes I just vision walk. Sometimes you can vision peloton. If it's raining outside and you want to ride your bike. It's a fun strategy that I'm teaching my clients that I use to help motivate myself to believe that what I am working towards is inevitable, right? A Vision walk creates a vision of you happy and confident in your body having achieved what you want. So when you think of spring and summer coming few months away, right? When you are imagining you feeling amazing in your body, being at the size you want, how that'll change everything, right? We know it changes everything. How that will change the way you walk in your closet and get dressed, how that'll change the way you act when someone goes to take your picture, how that'll change the way you watch TV? How that'll change the way you're intimate with your partner. If you are intimate with your partner, when you imagine yourself at your goal, something amazing happens. You believe a little bit harder. It. It's almost like there's a bank of belief, and you're adding a few coins to the bank when you can have a few minutes of thinking about visualizing you at your goal weight. But the kicker is going to be not only visualizing it, but feeling it. The vision without the feeling is no good. We want to make sure that the vision is also holding the feeling. How will you feel when you reach your goal weight? How will you feel when you can do a pull up, which this is one of my goals right now. I have an injured shoulder right now. I've been saying a few times in the pockets I have an injured shoulder, and I'm working through it. But I'm not doing pull ups right now, but I know that someday I am going to be doing a pull up. How is that going to feel? What am I going to think? Who am I going to tell all of those things is part of this vision walk, where you spend your mental time is so important. And so when we do something like a vision walk, when we think of like where we're going to be when we reach our goal, we are aligning with that vision. We are aligning with the feelings of that vision. And in fact, we are actually making that vision happen, where you're making it more likely that we are going to get there. And let me tell you why you are telling the universe or God or who you ever you are aligned with that this is what you want. This is important to you, and this is what you're working towards. And why something like vision walking is so important is it allows you to feel the way you want to feel. Now, it allows you to think about where you're going and get the benefit of feeling that way. Now, so often people will be working towards something from a place of I just got to do this. I just got to do kind of negative energy, negative pushing, pushing, pushing, holding off on feeling any joy until they get their goal, until they achieve their goal. But they're missing out on feeling the joy ahead of time. And it turns out, when you allow yourself to feel the joy ahead of time, when you allow yourself to go on a vision, walk and have even a few moments of thinking how great it's gonna feel when you get there. You are, in fact, reaping the benefits, even though you haven't achieved the goal yet, and in doing that energetically, you are getting to your goal faster. It keeps you going. Let me tell you how it keeps you going if you have a big goal set for yourself, if you have a transformation, if you want to do things differently, if you want to up level, there is going to be failure. Like I already said in this podcast, there's going to be failure many, many times along the way. But if you can actually start feeling the way you want to feel, ahead of time, feel that confidence, feel that excitement, ahead of time. It will keep you going. When you fail, you'll have a moment where you promise yourself you weren't going to eat more than one cookie. You're going to have three, and you're going to be able to say, It's okay because I believe I'm getting there, and you're going to be able to dive back into that belief and that confidence and the joy. Now, when all those little failures happen, it makes you look at them and think it's okay, because I believe we are on the path. You're not going to make your failures mean you are just not capable of this. It will help you make your failures mean this is just a blip. It will help keep you going, which, in turn, will get you to your goal, your desire, faster. I've taught you that when you're in a positive frame of mind, like feeling positive emotions, it affects your behavior. So let's think about this. If you spend time vision, walking, journaling, meditating, doing, any of the strategies that will help you get into a positive feeling of how great it's going to be when you achieve your goals. When you're in that positive feeling, it affects your behavior. You're more likely to eat well, you're more likely to be curious when you don't eat well, you're more likely to work out even when you don't feel motivated. That will affect your day to day results, which will affect your yearly results. For those of you in my program, the video that breaks down vision walking is already in the portal. For you. And I said, and also I said, Is there a part of you that is a little worried that you might gain the weight back? And she goes, actually, yes, she goes, that's my main thought. Is, I've done this, but am I going to actually maintain the weight loss? I said, this program is for you. She joined my program. She continued to lose weight. She I think, she ended the program. It's been about a year, I think, and she has continued to keep the weight off. She hit her goal weight, and she's continued to keep the weight off, and she learned how to work out when she told herself she was going to work out, she's gaining strength, and she is no longer needing to feel motivated, she's just become the woman who doesn't work out when she says she's going to work out.
