Welcome to the podcast, episode 132 Introducing the Aligned Life membership. Yes, I have been planning this podcast out in my mind for a few weeks now. I'm so excited to be delivering it to you and giving you all the details that I've really been annoyingly teasing you with over the last few weeks. So, strap in. I'm going to be giving you all of the details on this podcast. So, first of all, What do I know to be true, what does Oprah say? Like things I know to be.. I forget what Oprah says, but what I was just thinking, how do I want to start this podcast? I really want to start by talking about what I know to be true. And when it comes to everything we talk about on this podcast, what I know to be true is real change takes practice, it takes repetition, it takes commitment, it takes falling off track and getting back on track. It takes real honesty, and it takes really a willingness to start again and again, because life sometimes gets hard, and sometimes we get thrown off track, and becoming a different version of yourself takes time and practice. I have found something happen over the years as I have grown my coaching business. When women work with me, either when they work with me privately or they work at a group coaching program, often they want to continue this work. Of course, they want to continue thinking differently. They want to continue losing the using the tools they've learned, they also, many of them want to continue practicing with me in some way, coaching with me in some way, and so what I have been creating for the past few months is really a gift to women who have worked with me before, but also a gift to the women who have yet to work with me before I wanted to create a community, a space that was even more accessible, an ongoing way to support yourself and continue the learning, and continuing you up leveling constantly to the next version of yourself. And I'll tell you, what happens is you go to the next version of yourself, you kind of blow your mind with, like, oh my god, I'm actually, I'm actually eating this way, I'm actually this strong at this weight, not doing those things I used to do anymore. You get to this new place, and then you get this sense that, like, this is just the beginning, that's what I happened, that happened to me over and over and over many times, like, oh my god, now what's next for me? So I wanted to create a space that women could continue working with me as they up leveled their life. I have wanted to create a membership, a monthly membership for years. You've probably heard me talk about how I have a manifestation journal, I write in most mornings, and I write all these things that I want to do with my life, and sometimes I write things down that I don't even know how I'm going to do them, and it's been about four years now that I've been writing. I have a monthly membership with hundreds of women in it, and when I remember, sometimes I would write it, and I would be.. sometimes I'd even stop and go,"Why am I writing this? I don't even know what this would look like. I don't even know, do I really? There were times where I thought, do I even really want this? I don't even know, do I have capacity to do this? Do I have enough people following along? What would this even look like? But really, what I know is you need to have self trust. There's obviously a part of me that has wanted this for a long time, and it's okay that I didn't know what it looked like. It's okay that I didn't know how it was going to happen. I just really trusted that I could write it down and know that at some point I was going to do it. And I'll tell you, when I started this year out and I made all my yearly goals, and I created a vision for my year, I did not include creating this monthly membership in it. It wasn't until, like, I want to say end of February, all of a sudden I was having a meditate. I was in a meditation, and all of a sudden I got the idea, and it really did stem from so many women who worked with me, and they were really sad when the group was ending. They were really sad, and they said, "You know, I love this group, and I'm.. I don't want to stop, I. Wish we could keep meeting, and I just was in a meditation, and I thought, could I create something where I'd be like, oh, wonderful, you want to keep going, great, join the membership, oh, you're loving the podcast, you've never been in a coaching program, you've never been coached, amazing, join the membership, so really this has been on my heart for many years, and I am Avi, actually having to like calm myself down, because I am extremely excited to be recording the podcast for you. This podcast is the last thing for me to do in order to say I'm announcing this membership to the world. There's been so much work I've done over the last few months, and I'll tell you, I remember after my meditation, I went to my husband, and I said,"Hey, I don't know if you know this, but I've been writing that I've wanted to do a membership in my meditation journal, my manifestation journal, for years, and I think it's time, and here's why. And my husband's so cute, he's like, "Yeah, let's go, means like, "Let's go. I'm like, "Well, well, and I'm like,"Okay, maybe I can do it this way, maybe there were so many, and this is what stops most people. I'll tell you, if you've had something on your heart, whether you've wanted to write a book, you've wanted to start a business, you've wanted to get in your best health ever. When you decide it sounds amazing in the moment, and then what happens is, is your primitive brain doesn't want you to do this, it floods you with all these, yeah, but there's all these decisions to make, and what if it doesn't work, and what if this, what if that's what immediately happens. It sounds amazing to decide to write a book. It sounds amazing to decide to join a gym and start getting in your best health. It sounds amazing to decide that you're gonna not eat meat anymore, because you've always really wanted to not eat meat, and you're ready. It's the time in your life where you can focus on cooking, and, and you can do that, right? It sounds amazing, and it is amazing for about two minutes, until your primitive brain goes, "Oh, no, no, we need to stay the same. You just need to seek pleasure. And so, what your primitive brain does is it gives you all these thoughts. What if no one joins? When would you have the calls? What if people this? What if this? Are you going to have everyone's camera on? Are you going to have everyone's camera off? Are you going to give the chat feature? How are you going to send out the replays? I could literally keep going for five minutes, but I'm going to spare you. But so that's what happened. But I've done this many times now. I have really gone to my own next level many times when I decided to really make more money in my jewelry business. When I decided to become certified as a coach, when I decided to start charging people for coaching, certainly when I decided to close my jewelry business and just focus on my coaching. So the fact that all of those doubts and insecurities and fears that came in because of all of the thoughts my primitive brain gave me, the fact that that happened did not deter me at all, but I really decided I'm going to take my time with this, and I'm going to do it right. I have many coaching friends who said, Courtney, you can just whip up a membership, you have so much content, so many educational videos, you don't even need to create anything new, and I was like, no, for this membership, I am creating everything new. I'm creating new courses. I'm creating a whole new way of teaching some of my concepts. So, if you've worked with me before, I wanted to be able to say, oh no, there's new happening here. Why I called it the Aligned Life membership, because that also took me a long time to figure out what I really wanted to call this membership. This membership, of course, we talk about weight loss, of course, we talk about eating and drinking better and getting stronger and getting healthier, but, like, you know, by listening to this podcast, this is so much more than just fitting into your genes, this is so much more than just a number on the scale. The focus of this membership will be what you get on this podcast, it really is most importantly you becoming the next version of you, whatever that is for you. And so the focus will be being in control of your eating and drinking, you feeling like you understand yourself at a deeper level, and you can go throughout your day feeling proud of yourself, you having the ability to manage your emotions right, the ability to feel stress and get out of stress, to feel overwhelmed and get out of overwhelm. Be frustrated, figure out why you're frustrated, and think, oh, I'm going to get out of frustration because I don't like being here. That is possible for you. I can't tell you how many people I talk to in my day-to-day life, or they will just say it has been a stressful few months, and here's why. And I think, oh, and I like energetically just send love to them. I think, oh, wow, there's a solution for that, like a stressful few months, even just saying that, like, wow, that causes so much stress, that reconfirms the stress, you know, the stories we tell ourselves are so important. You have the ability to choose the story you want to tell and to decide energetically how you want to feel. It doesn't mean we don't go through hard times and and give ourselves the grace of supporting ourselves through a hard time, but you get to decide what, quote unquote, a hard time means to you in this membership. You're going to feel like a creator of your life. Do you feel like a creator of your life? I do, and that's available to you. And if you don't, let me tell you, you're missing out, because feeling like you are creative, your life is the most powerful feeling ever. And I remember getting this feeling for the first time when I lost the weight that I wanted to lose in a sustainable way, and I felt in control of my eating. And I remember sitting at the kitchen table going, oh my god, if I can do this, I can do anything, and I didn't know it at that time. I wasn't thinking I'm a creator of my life, but now I know, because I am so much more advanced than that woman was years ago. I'm so much farther along, I'm so much more different version of myself. But I look back, and I'm like, oh, that's what happened. That was, I think, the first time I realized I'm creating my life. It's possible for you in this membership. We're going to focus on teaching you how to create habits that make you proud, how to create habits that are aligned with what you truly desire for your life. We're going to get you into your best health, so you can feel vibrant and energized, whatever age you are at. It is possible for you, we're going to talk about self talk and self compassion, and how that is also in your control. So, let's talk about what's included in your monthly membership every single month. So, you're going to get a weekly coaching call with me every week, where I will teach you coaching concepts at a deeper level than that's on this podcast, and you'll hear why I'm going to be able to teach at a different level in just a moment, but most importantly, I'm going to coach you and the other women in the group, so it's going to be your place to come and talk with me every week and say I've been really doing well here, but here's where I'm struggling, and I'm going to coach you to understand yourself at a deeper level. You're going to be able to say I'm not sure what's getting in my way, and I'm going to help you see what's getting in your way. You're going to say, I'm feeling overwhelmed and anxious, and I don't know how to get out of it. I don't think I can get out of it, and I'm going to show you how. I'm going to show you how to give yourself grace and love. I'm also going to show you what's possible for you to be able to get out of it. You can be coached live, and and you can also ask for coaching in the chat, so you're going to be able to raise your hand on the call with me and say, "Let's chat, and you're going to also be able to write a question in the chat if you don't feel like getting coached. Sometimes women have so much emotion that they don't even feel like they have the capacity to raise their hand and get coached live, and that's why I'm really excited to have a chat feature that you can say, here's what I'm feeling in the chat, and I can coach you that way as well. You will not only get coaching, but you are going to get to experience other women get coached on things that you're going through as well. And I'm going to teach you in this group the power of group coaching. You're going to learn how to make any coaching anyone else is getting applied to you. This isn't a situation where other women are talking and you just start scrolling on your phone. That's not what's happening. That's not going to be the vibe. The vibe is going to be you sitting there thinking, oh my god, I'm going to energetically, energetically send love to this woman, because what she's going through is really hard. Oh, wow, that coaching Courtney just gave her, I can apply it to my life in this way. Oh, wow, she just had a thought that I have all the time. Oh my god, I really understand what she's going through. And you can apply the coaching to your own life on these calls. You can also be a quiet observer. I've had many coaching calls with my groups where there are some people that want to talk all the time, and some people that they don't, they just want to, they want to learn by listening, and that's available to you as well. And again, you can also write in to the chat. It's also going to be a beautiful place for you to celebrate yourself, because I'll tell you, you might say, "Oh my god, you might show up to a call one day, and you might say,"Let's say you're focused on really eating better and losing weight in a sustainable way, and so there might be a part of you that doesn't believe you can lose weight in a sustainable way, because the only way you've ever lost weight was by being totally restrictive, doing a whole 30, counting your calories, all these things, so you might show up and you might say, I was in a plateau, my weight wasn't moving for about three weeks, but I just lost one pound this week, and you, in your heart, and I know in my heart that that's a big fucking deal, right? And you know that's a big deal, but if you went to someone in your life and said, oh my god, I, I've been in a plateau for a few weeks and I just lost a pound, oftentimes, unfortunately, we don't get people going, oh my god, I'm so happy for you. Like, tell me why this is such a big deal to you. Tell me why this is important. Tell me how you did that. Wow, you should really be proud of yourself. I mean, that's amazing. That's what you're gonna get from me. But oftentimes other people in your life are gonna be like, wow, I mean, is that a big deal? Or why are you so focused on this? Or, you know what, you really look great the way you are. I think you shouldn't even worry about any of this, and maybe it's going to be said with love, but maybe it's not what you need. I know going through three or four weeks of a plateau and keeping the belief that you're headed in the right direction, not getting too diety or restrictive, and then eventually breaking through and losing a pound, being consistent is a big fucking deal, and so you're going to get to be celebrated by other women in the group who also know it's a big deal. I have found in my groups over time the culture I am creating in these groups is where someone says something like, I was in a plateau for a few weeks and I got on the scale this morning, and I, I'm a pound down. There is this culture that I'm creating in my groups, and it's been getting more and more like this over time, and I'm loving it. Is women will all of a sudden start like, like silently, just like clapping their hands while the person's talking, or they'll like send heart emojis up in on the Zoom. You know how you can do that on Zoom, or clapping, and it's just this energy of women who get it, because other people in your life might not, and that's okay, that other people, it's okay that other people in your life look at you and say you're beautiful, you don't need to do it anyway, oh my god, you're totally fine, but there's a part of us I know from experience that makes us feel a crazy when people say that to us, so this is a group where you're not going to feel crazy. This is a group we're going to go, God, well done, well done for not slipping into diet mentality, well done for taking yourself seriously, well done for hanging in there during a plateau, because they happen especially when you're losing weight in a sustainable way. If you cannot attend these weekly calls live, it's no problem, I'm creating a private podcast just for the women in the membership. What that means is your replay of the coaching call every week is going to be uploaded to a private podcast, so you're listening to this podcast right now. In whatever podcast you're listening to it, you're going to be able to when you. On your podcast app, and you see the Modern Body, Modern Life podcast, and The Mel Robbins Podcast, Oprah, all the other podcasts you listen to, you're also going to have available to you the Aligned Life membership podcast, and it is going to be a collection of all the replays from our weekly calls. I am really excited about this feature, because I have been in memberships before, where I have to go onto my computer, I have to log on to listen to the weekly calls, and I don't want to be sitting listening to a weekly call. I don't want to even necessarily watch the weekly call. Sometimes I do, but sometimes I don't. What I want to do is, I want to be able to listen to them while I'm going for a walk. Now, these calls will also be available, so you can watch, right, watch me coach live, for sure. So my intention is you can come to a call live, you can listen to the replay, but I want to give an extra call at a unique time every single month, just so you have the option of making sure you can attend a call live every month if the scheduled time doesn't work for you. So, if you've worked with me before, again, you've never seen these courses, so you're going to get access to the four courses. Are the way you eat. This is my weight loss, sustainable weight loss course. I'm calling it the way you eat, because again, I put a lot of thought, even into these titles. I didn't want to say lose weight quickly. I didn't want to say something like eat in a way that helps you lose weight, I wanted this to be an elevated conversation, an elevated course for a woman who knows, yes, this is how I'm going to lose weight, but this is how I'm going to do it in a sustainable way, by eating in a way that feels peaceful and controlled, by becoming a woman who makes the decision and stick to it, by becoming a woman who falls off track and gets back on track, so the course is called The Way You Eat. It is going to guide you into learning how to lose weight in a sustainable way by you becoming a woman who eats and drinks better. So that is the first course that's going to be available, The Way you eat, there's going to be that managing your mind course. This is the really the foundational course of the program. It feeds into all the other courses, because in order to eat better, in order to do all the other things you're going to learn in the other courses, you must be able to manage your mind, and managing your mind is a practice. It is, it is a beautiful practice that I know grows and grows all the time. If we are doing this work, I know that I manage my mind really well, but I know in a year from now I'm going to be even more elevated in the way I manage my mind. So this is the foundational course for the membership. I'm so excited for you to get access to. Okay, I also created a course called creating a badass self concept. This is the first time I've ever really taught a course on self concept, and it is a beautiful course. And here's the

importance of self concept:

you can also call it identity, it's very similar, but self concept is important because the way we think about ourselves dictates what we do and what we don't do. We act in accordance with the way we think about ourselves. If we tell ourselves a story, which is the way we think about ourselves, if we tell ourselves a story that we're flaky, that we always give up, that we aren't capable of this, we've never been good like this. Our mom was like this, and so are we. That's self-concept, and we are going to every single day act in a way that aligns with that. So, in order for you to create new results in your life, you have to create a new bad ass self concept, and the cool thing is it's totally possible for you. And then the last course I have right now that is available immediately when you join the membership is called Aligned Habits, Aligned Daily Habits. habits, and this is how you can actually change your daily habits, like the little things you keep saying, I want to do this better, or I want to stop doing that. These little daily habits, they need to be aligned with the true desire of what you want for your life. If they're not, you're never going to get there, right? People think things like, oh, I really need to go a bit of bed earlier, and I'll be like, yes, you do. If that's what you've been telling yourself for years, it matters. It's not just some little trivial thing. Or women will say, like, I've been wanting to meditate for years, that's important. If that's on your heart, if that is intuitively what you've been telling yourself. It matters. Our daily aligned habits, our daily habits must be aligned with where we are going. They must in order for you to get there. I'm going to be adding courses to this membership as we go. In fact, I almost thought about dripping out these courses, like having managing your mind be the June course, and then July course be the way you eat, and then do that, but I thought, no, what is the most fun? That's what I kept thinking as I designed this membership for you, is what would I want, what would be most fun, and for me, I would want someone saying, you join, and within five minutes, you, you have access to all these courses, you get to decide which course you want to do. You there's a when you join the membership, you're going to get a start here welcome video, and it's going to say, here's how to start, here's how to focus, here's how to do this work. And then you get to decide where you want to start. Every single month, there will be a different focus for the month. How fun is that? So June's focus is going to be creating consistency. This is a very broad focus, so you get to decide how this is going to work for you. How do you want to create consistency? I'm going to get you to think about that one thing you keep telling yourself you want to do better, and you keep falling off track. I'm going to teach you how to stop falling off track, but I'm also going to teach you how to fall off track and get on way faster and not shame yourself, because falling off track is a part of life. So, there's going to be a different focus every month. June's focus is creating consistency. I have so many ideas for the future month focuses, but I'm really going to wait, and I'm going to surprise you every single month with the focus, because I also want to see where I think the group needs me. What do they need? I want to be able to go, oh, they really need this, this is our focus. I also want to see, like, okay, if it's November, the focus might be aligned with what most people might be thinking about in November or July, whatever it is. So, here's what I'm really excited for. I have created a bonus for you if you join the membership by june 10. june 10 is going to be our first live coaching call, and if you join by june 10, you are going to get something special mailed to your house, like snail mailed. I know a lot of what I provide is digital, but I love getting something in the mail. Don't you? I have created this new mini journal that you are going to get in the mail, of course, with a handwritten note from me. Welcome you into the membership. So, for the first month of June, we're talking about creating consistency. I wanted to create a resource that I could mail to you that you can use to help follow along and do this work with me in June. Now, if you don't end up joining by June, you can still do this work for me. I just really wanted to create a fun, a fun resource. So, this is a mini journal. I found a woman on Etsy. I love supporting local businesses. So, I found a woman on Etsy, and I was thinking of a journal, but I was like, you know what, I want to do a small journal. I don't want to do a huge journal, and so I found these mini journals, and I, she late, allowed me to customize it. So I created this very simple custom journal that goes along with a new way of teaching consistency. So, if you join by June 10, you're going to get the journal in the mail, and the cool thing about this mini journalist, you can take it with you. Sometimes, in my group coaching programs, I've had women that have said they've gone on vacation, and they're like, "I really didn't want to take my big workbook, because sometimes they don't want people seeing them right in a big workbook. Sometimes it just was too much to pack, and so I really been thinking about creating something where you can go on vacation and literally do something that's powerful in two minutes, and so that's what this little mini journal is going to do for you. I can't wait to teach you my new process for using this mini journal to create consistency in your life. This is more than just weight loss. It is weight loss. I love helping women lose weight and eat better and drink better, all those things at every age, it is so important, but this is more than weight loss. This is you becoming the woman you want to be. This is you creating consistency and self trust, and you feeling aligned, you feeling everyday proud that what you're doing is leading you where you want to go. You getting an understanding of your emotions and getting the support and accountability that maybe you've never had before. I want you to be able to stay connected to yourself, but also stay connected to this work and have connection with me. This is like your chance to actually work with me every single week in a community of women that are also doing this work. I want to talk for a moment about the importance of repetition, about the importance of not just listening, but actively doing this work. This is what this group is going to give to you. I really consider this, especially at the $97 price point. I really consider it like a gift to give yourself. It would have been amazing if I would have gotten this done faster, and I could have said,'Oh, let's do this for Mother's Day. Give yourself the gift for Mother's Day. It's almost Father's Day, so here's what I want to say: give yourself this gift for Father's Day, right? But this, this membership is a gift to yourself for the price of really less than the price of a dinner for you and your partner, you'll be giving yourself the gift of feeling like you have an anchor to go back to every single week, and you'll be able to get the coaching that you need when you feel stuck and the accountability when life gets tough. What I've seen in my own life is I've had to learn how to make changes during all different seasons of my life, and I've also had to learn how to be consistent with changes I've made during all seasons of my life. You know, I recorded the podcast, I think it was last week's podcast or the week before, where I talked about my experience when something happened to my mom and she went to the hospital, and I really talked about all the different ways my primitive brain tried to get me to abandon myself, tried to get me to get off track, and that ability to do that has taken practice. It's taken the repetitions. It has really taken me becoming a woman who can say this is the way I live, and I don't care if something happens that that tries to get me off track. I don't care if my primitive brain tried to, tries to use something as an excuse to start to just feed myself M&Ms in the moment. So this takes practice and repetition. You can create some new habits and make changes in the summer, but then you must learn how to stay consistent throughout those changes, the unique changes of the holiday, that's why we will have a different focus every month as well. Just depending on the time of the year, there's different challenges that come up. So each month is going to really address anything that's happening in the world or during this time of year.
