Speaker 1:

Hello and welcome back to another episode of the Nurse's Break Room with Jenny Lytle RN. This episode is a bonus episode and it is going to be a three-minute meditation called At the Ocean. Now, before we get started, just a quick reminder that if your mind starts to wander, that's normal. Just a quick reminder that if your mind starts to wander, that's normal. Just notice that it's wandered, without judging or criticizing yourself, and just bring your attention back to the visualization. And this may be something that you need to do more than once, and that's okay. It'll get easier as you get more used to meditation, and sometimes there's just days when our minds wander a little more. So have some grace with yourself.

Speaker 1:

Now I invite you to take a deep breath and, when you're comfortable, perhaps begin to close your eyes and maybe, as you take a few more deep breaths and get into a slow, gentle rhythm, you can begin to imagine that you're at a beautiful beach.

Speaker 1:

I wonder, can you feel the sun's rays on your skin? Maybe there's a gentle breeze gently blowing over you and as you now imagine walking slowly towards the sea with the warm sun embracing you with its rays, you may become aware of the sand or pebbles underneath your feet, the sound of the waves as they lap at the shore, or maybe even the taste of being at the ocean. And now, as you walk gently on the edge of the waves, perhaps you also notice the cool, refreshing water on your feet. Maybe you can just enjoy being still for a few moments now, doing nothing but breathing deeply and enjoying the soothing warmth of the sun, the wonderful contrast of the cool, refreshing water on your feet and the gentle sounds and scents around you. Simply enjoy this beautiful experience for a few breaths and soak up the serenity, peace and calm. You're now feeling Wonderful, so you can come back and visit this favorite beach of yours at any time, knowing that when you leave, your mind will feel soothed, calm and refreshed and now ready to continue your day.
