Speaker 1:

Hello and welcome back to another episode of the Nurse's Break Room with Jenny Lytle RN, and today we are going to talk about something that we all need Quick ways to boost our energy when we're feeling tired, and we often think that we need more sleep or more coffee or a day off or a vacation in order to feel better. But sometimes it's those tiny shifts that can really help to reset our brain and our body in just minutes, and so here's why the small resets really matter. Burnout isn't just about doing too much. It's about recovering enough and short movement. Recovering enough and short movement breathing, exercise or shift in environment can help to give your mind the break that it needs.

Speaker 1:

So three quick ways to boost your energy Step outside and even when it's cold, stepping outside for 60 seconds and just like taking it all in. You know really feeling that fresh air and the sunlight Hopefully there's some sun we're starting to see a little more now around here and just a different environment for a moment can help to kind of wake your brain up a little bit. Something else that you can do is a body wake up and so kind of you know standing and stretching or shaking out your arms, and you know, just kind of move in a way that feels good, and that's something that helps to release some tension, especially if you've been sitting for a long time. You know, maybe you're really concentrating on something and and you could just use that, that bit of movement, and that releases tension and increases circulation. So, and a third thing that you can do is just take a breathing reset. One of my favorite things to do is to do a four seven eight breathing technique where you breathe in for four seconds, you hold for seven seconds and you exhale for eight seconds and you repeat that for one minute, and that really helps to reset your nervous system and just bring your stress levels down a couple notches, as well as to wake you up.

Speaker 1:

So your self-care shift for this week try one of these mini resets today. Notice how you feel before and after. Does it change your energy? Feel free to reach out and let me know. I'd love to hear about your experience. Feel free to reach out and let me know. I'd love to hear about your experience If today's episode helped share with a friend who needs an energy boost. And remember that small shifts can lead to big changes and self-care isn't selfish. It's essential if we want to continue to care for others and live our best lives. I'll see you next time.
