Three Stone Down and No More Anxiety with Natasha Wilson

Are you trapped in a cycle of failed diets, diminishing self-belief, and constant anxiety about your health? Natasha's story might be exactly what you need to hear.

Natasha joins us to share her remarkable transformation journey with Feed my Health. Before February this year, fitness was "non-existent" in her life. Years of emotional eating had left her feeling stuck, hopeless, and convinced nothing would work after multiple failed attempts with traditional approaches. "I didn't believe in myself at all," she confesses with striking honesty.

What makes her story so powerful isn't just the impressive weight loss of nearly 20 kilograms (over three stone) in a few months. It's the profound mental transformation that accompanied her physical changes. The anxiety that once controlled her daily life has "completely disappeared." Simple pleasures like walking alone or choosing an outfit—activities that previously triggered meltdowns—are now effortless parts of her day.

Perhaps most surprising is Natasha's revelation about the process itself: "It's not hard at all... I can eat what I want when I want." She dismantles the common misconception that successful transformation requires constant hunger and punishment. Instead, she credits personalized coaching, community support, and sustainable habit changes as the keys to her success. Small shifts like improving sleep habits and implementing a digital detox before bed proved unexpectedly powerful.

For those currently struggling as Natasha once did, her message is clear and hopeful: "Just do it... it will work." Her journey from self-doubt to confidence proves that transformation is possible even after years of struggle—you just need the right approach and support. Ready to write your own success story? This could be your starting point.

Speaker 1:

Welcome to another episode of the Feed my Health podcast. Today, we have a very special episode with one of our current clients here at Feed my Health, natasha. Natasha is going to tell us all about her journey, her experience and what life was like before she joined Feed my Health, but also what it's been like since. So stay tuned, strap in, grab yourself a coffee, maybe go for a walk, grab your headphones, and I hope you enjoy this episode. Natasha, let's start by talking about some challenges and frustrations that you were experiencing before, maybe before you even knew about Fever Health, but what, for you, was kind of your biggest frustration with your health and your fitness frustration with your health and your fitness.

Speaker 2:

Um, well, fitness, to be honest, was non-existent before, um, and I just, I don't know, like I just said before, I didn't believe in myself, I didn't believe that I could change anything. I was just eating everything all the time, no exercise, I wasn't even walking, to be honest, um, and I just didn't know. I was stuck in a rut and I didn't know how to get out of it or what to do. And how long had that been going on? For um, a few years, I think. Um, probably since lockdown. That's sort of when it escalated. I think, um, yeah, because obviously I was at home all the time then and I think a lot of it was emotional eating as well, comfort eating, um, and yeah, and it just kept creeping up and getting a little bit worse, and were you?

Speaker 1:

I mean, I assume you were obviously aware that it was creeping up. Did you try anything else?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so I did. Actually, I did Slimming World. I joined the gym. That didn't last very long, to be honest. The gym, yeah, I did try things, but never for very long, and I got to a point where I just sort of gave up and just thought, oh, I can't do it, I'm never going to do it.

Speaker 1:

What was the reason why you felt that way? What?

Speaker 2:

Just lack of motivation, lack of belief in myself. I didn't realise it then, but now, looking back, I didn't have any belief in myself. I didn't believe in myself at all, um, and I just felt stuck got you.

Speaker 1:

So what was your motivation to join female health? What? Why did you choose us? How did you hear about us?

Speaker 2:

um, I actually saw somebody else that I'm friends with. I saw her progress, I saw a video that she shared and it was incredible, it was amazing. And then I found your Instagram and started following you and saw all your posts and just thought, wow, this looks really good. So, yeah, and that was. And I think I knew, knew I needed to do something. I knew I wanted to do something, I just didn't know what that was yet. Um so, and yeah, I found you and then here we are amazing.

Speaker 1:

And so if you'd gone through lots of different things before and, like that lack of belief was either preventing you from progressing with those things or, um, seeing results or anything, why, why did you feel that this was now going to be different?

Speaker 2:

well, I didn't know that it was going to be different. I didn't actually know when I started that it was going to happen like it had, that it was going to work so well. I didn't actually know when I started that it was going to happen like it had, that it was going to work so well. I didn't actually know. I don't think I was prepared for how well it was going to work and what was going to happen. So it's really strange because the changes were really small to start with. And now, like looking at my, my pictures, my progress pictures and everything, I'm like wow, I can't believe I've done that and you're more.

Speaker 1:

Um, do you believe in yourself a bit more now, oh?

Speaker 2:

yeah, yeah, 100%, yeah, definitely, yeah, it's amazing, it really is. And I mean, I think I remember the first phone call that I had with you and and I remember, after that phone call, feeling really nervous, I'm really scared, thinking what if I can't do? I still felt like I was going to fail. I did, I was really apprehensive, but I just as soon as, like day one, it started and it's just, it's just amazing. It's amazing my mindset's changed and it's, it's, it's just really good.

Speaker 1:

I'm so pleased for you, so brilliant um. Which part of the program would you say has had the most impact on you and on your journey?

Speaker 2:

um, I think the having the having Hazel and having someone I can go to, someone to talk to and just to make sure that I'm doing things right or doing just doing it how I need to be doing it, and also knowing that someone can see what I'm doing, so, like with workouts and things, I mean I've never, um, sort of I've never really worked out as much as I do now. Ever, I've never done it like I do now and um, and just having that help and the support, and even in the groups as well, I'm quite quiet but I'm always reading and looking at all the advice and seeing what's going on and it's really helpful. It is.

Speaker 1:

I'm so glad, and so let's talk a little bit about results, because that's that's the critical thing that people want, obviously, right. So for you, what results have you experienced, and how have these results changed your day-to-day life?

Speaker 2:

um, yeah, so result I mean I think I joined in February and I think I've lost almost 20 kilos. Um, yeah, yeah, so over three stone, I think. Um, which I I didn't know that that was going to happen like that. It's really amazing. And just I mean the effect it's had on my day-to-day life. It's amazing. I used to suffer quite a lot with anxiety. That seems to have completely disappeared. Like I don't get anxious like I used to. I feel a lot calmer. I generally feel really healthy in myself. I've got more get-up go as well. Um, so, yeah, it has had a big impact on on everything.

Speaker 1:

Really incredible and do you feel like, is it impacting the people around you in any way?

Speaker 2:

um oh, I think so. Yeah, definitely, definitely my husband and my children, um, because I'm I'm happier, I'm a lot happier in myself, I'm more confident. Like I said, I'm not anxious anymore. Um, I mean just going out for a walk. I mean, back in January I wouldn't have stepped foot out of the house on my own to go for a walk so it's.

Speaker 1:

It's not just changed like physically how you look, then it's how you feel and how you're approaching life. That's amazing. Yeah, definitely. I remember, like for me, and you don't really realize this, like you've realized this so quickly in your journey, but like I didn't realize how much of an impact how I felt when I was like at my heaviest, how much of a negative impact that had, until you kind of get out of it and then you, wow, I actually feel like a completely different. I now speak to you in such a better way than I used to. So it's amazing. Um, were there any surprising benefits or any kind of insights that you've gained?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, there's probably a lot. I mean, I didn't realize how important sleep was and having a good bedtime routine as well, so that was something that was surprising. And like not being on my phone before I go to sleep. I was trying to read a book now before bed, you know like digital detox. I didn't kind of realize how important that was. Yeah, there's been quite a lot of things that I didn't realize I needed, but definitely the sleep, I think, the bedtime routine and not scrolling on my phone when I'm in bed just ready to go to sleep.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's a big one. I bet most people do that.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, well, my husband still does, yeah.

Speaker 1:

I know mine. He's always playing chess or what's that one with the numbers, sudoku. Oh yeah, yeah, constantly, constantly, constantly. So I know that you mentioned about you. We had our call together and you you left the call and you were feeling a bit like I can't remember exactly what the word was that you used like a little bit nervous maybe. Yeah, a little bit scared.

Speaker 2:

I still felt. I felt like I was gonna fail. I didn't think I still felt like a bit of a failure. I didn't have any belief in myself. So you know, I was a little fail. I didn't think I still felt like a bit of a failure. I didn't have any belief in myself. So you know, I was a little bit scared to start because I just kept thinking, oh, what if I can't do it? You know, just had the wrong mindset.

Speaker 1:

And where do you feel that that's come from?

Speaker 2:

Oh, that's a tricky question, I don't know, I suppose just because I've never succeeded with any diets or weight loss or any kind of health and fitness before I've, just I've not. I suppose I didn't try hard enough really. But no, maybe that or I don't know. Know that's a hard question.

Speaker 1:

I know it is a very hard question. I was being cruel. So when you say you didn't try hard enough, do you feel like the things that you've tried in the past versus this is the same, but maybe you're just in a different frame of mind? Or do you feel like the approach is different?

Speaker 2:

yeah, no, I don't think that they were the same. I think, um, I mean, having having a coach helps with so much. Having someone you can go to on good days and bad days, and having that support is really, really helpful. I've never had that before, um, and I think maybe I don't know. I think maybe I don't know. I think, yeah, I just think it's different because I've got support. I've got the support that I need. So, yeah, it's helpful to have somebody there that I can go to when I need to.

Speaker 1:

You know, see if I'm doing something right so how quickly into it did you start to feel do you know what, maybe I can do this um it probably took a while.

Speaker 2:

Well, it hasn't even been that long, has it since? Since we're doing it hasn't even been that long, I would say. Probably when I looked at my pictures maybe a month or two in and really started to see a difference and I thought this is, this is working, this is right, this is, you know, it's really helping me and just feeling different in myself as well, like, um, if we have some, if we're going out somewhere or something, I mean, before I would, I would have a meltdown, I wouldn't be able to find anything to wear, I would get to a point where I would say I don't want to go, you know, and and I don't have that doesn't happen anymore. Um, so I think, once I started seeing the difference in my pictures and and feeling better, that's when I thought this, this is working, I'm doing it that's brilliant because honestly, I think that's the problem is that lots of women have tried so many things unsuccessfully.

Speaker 1:

It really, really um affects their self-esteem and their kind of willingness to try something else.

Speaker 2:

I also I remember sorry, sorry. I also remember think, thinking to start with, I thought it was going to be really really hard, like really hard work, and I was gonna have to cut out loads of food and things like that. It's not hard at all. I'm there are times when I struggle, but the whole thing is actually a lot easier than I thought it was going to be and why did you feel like it was going to be hard?

Speaker 2:

I don't know. I suppose I didn't really know what to expect, but I thought I didn't realize I was going to be eating as much as I do. I actually eat. I thought I was going to be hungry. Um, I thought the workouts were gonna just kill me, but it's, it's, it's good and I can do it. I can eat what I want when I want. I can do, because I do the workouts from home, so I can work it around whatever I've got going on, and you know I don't feel pressured into anything.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's, it's really good brilliant and have people obviously partner aside have people in your life noticed yeah changes, yeah, yeah everyone.

Speaker 2:

Yes, I think it's amazing. I'm always getting you know well done, you do really well and compliments, and it's lovely, it really is good. I'm always getting you know well done, you've done really well, and compliments, and it's lovely, it really is good, I'm glad you definitely deserve that.

Speaker 1:

Um, so you did say obviously you were a little bit worried before. What do you think was the biggest like? Did you? When you, when you came across my Instagram, did you procrastinate on it a little bit? Did you have any hesitations? Or did you think, ah, this sounds a bit like something I haven't tried.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, oh, definitely. I looked and I thought well, this looks good, it's something different. You know, yeah, I was really, really intrigued.

Speaker 1:

That's good to know. And was there a I don't know if you can remember this far back now to February, but was there like a particular piece of content that really spoke to you that you remember?

Speaker 2:

uh, oh, I don't know, I can't remember, but it was when I saw, when I saw that the post, that of Facebook post of one of your old clients and her transformation was amazing, that that really drew me in.

Speaker 1:

I thought, wow, interesting fab, how do you feel now about your future compared to where you were before you started?

Speaker 2:

um, oh, I feel great, great. I think everything's heading in the right direction. I feel like things are going well fantastic.

Speaker 1:

So just going back again sorry, I like to circle back because I think this is really key, but if you think back to maybe the month prior to joining, before you were even maybe aware of Feed my Health, yeah, what would you say were your kind of three biggest pain points, your three biggest things that you were struggling with, whether it's like an emotional thing, a thought that was going through your head, or anything really, um, oh, these are tough questions.

Speaker 2:

So all the way back to January the thing is, things were so different then I think I thought so differently back then. Um, I think, like I said, I did struggle with a lot of anxiety back then. I used to feel so guilty for eating as well, but then would eat more because I felt guilty about eating. So I was constantly thinking about what I was eating. But still know, all the pizzas and all the chocolate, um, uh, I think every time I mean I would always wear really, really baggy clothes, baggy, baggy t-shirts and things because I wanted to hide what was under there. So, um, yeah, clothes were were an issue for me. Um, even just picking clothes to go to work in in the morning, um, and there was always, it was always in my head like I need to do something. I need to do something and, like I said, I just felt like I was stuck. So, yeah, and now you're not now.

Speaker 1:

You're not. Now, you're free from that, yeah, which is so good. What would you say to a woman who is currently feeling how you felt or is where you were?

Speaker 2:

What would I say? What would I say? Oh well, I think it's different for everybody, isn't it? But if it was where I was, I would have wanted somebody to just tell me to calm down a little bit. To be honest, calm down and stop worrying about things so much, because I think that's what it was really, and now I don't, because I'm not worrying about the same things anymore. It's easier to progress, I think, because I'm not focused on all these things that are all the negative things. Do you know what I mean? I'm not focused on all these things that are all the negative things. Do you know what I mean? I'm not focused on any of that anymore, and it's easier to progress when you know looking forward rather than being stuck in one space and thinking that you can't do it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, because I'd imagine, like, if you feel stuck, you imagine that there's no way out of that space. Yeah, yeah. What would you say to somebody who is thinking, oh, I've seen this feed my health. I'm not really sure. You know, I've tried lots of things before. What would you say to them?

Speaker 2:

go for it do it, just do it, just try, even if you know that you can't go wrong in. In, I mean, if it's Feed my Health specifically. Yes, do it definitely, because it will work and it's changed everything for me. It really has.

Speaker 1:

Brilliant. So for you then, where do you see yourself in? Do you see yourself in? I don't know. I mean, you've made so much progress in such a fast like in such a short space of time. It's it's sometimes it's even hard to imagine where you'll be. Yeah, but can you imagine, like, if you could think of a dream outcome for you now, based on what you've shown that you can achieve, what does that look like?

Speaker 2:

wow, gosh, I don't know. I mean, it's a dream where I am now. You know that. That was a dream, just just being where I'm at now. So anything from here is just.

Speaker 1:

You know, we're going up and up can you see how, um, you know I'm such a champion of women just not realizing how capable they are of achieving such great things like really set the bar really really low for ourselves because of that fear of failure? Yeah, but can you see, like your complete proof that actually you can achieve so much more than you ever imagine? Yeah, and that confidence level that you will have now, like you've got stacks of proof now, that you can achieve, yeah, anything. So you know, if I could give anybody a piece of advice, it would be like don't hold, don't limit yourself, don't hold back just because you haven't got where you want to be right now, or maybe you've tried lots of things in the past, it doesn't mean that's the end or there's no other option. It's being open to new ideas and really open to it, which is fantastic. Is there anything that I've missed? Is there anything that I haven't asked you that I should have asked you?

Speaker 2:

I don't know't always get scared of questions, no, but I do just want to say thank you so much, because this opportunity for me is just. I just didn't think it was possible, I didn't think I would get I was, I did have the fear of failure and I did think that I couldn't do it and I was so wrong, so wrong, and I've just, from the start, I've just got stuck in and and just done it and it's, it's amazing.

Speaker 1:

Honestly, the results are amazing and I'm still going no, I'm so excited, like I get so excited when I look at your graphs all the time. It's just amazing, and I really hope that you can come to our event in October as well. Yes, definitely pleasing to see you. Yeah, we, we do them. Are you aware?

Speaker 2:

we do them every year yeah, no, I didn't know, but I am, I should. I should definitely be able to come. It's just before my holiday, so I should be there excellent, um, amazing.

Speaker 1:

Well, one more question actually, and then I'll let you get on and like, stand in the fridge or something. What does feed my health mean to you?

Speaker 2:

if you could sum up what feed my health means to you um, oh, life-changing, it's, it's life-changing and it's amazing, it's, it's I mean, community support it, it's brilliant.

Speaker 1:

Thank you. Thank you so much for chatting to me. You answered the question so beautifully. I was really nervous as well. You've done a great job and now you've got even more confidence, you see, because you've done something scary. Thank you so much. I really, really, really appreciate it, and I know that everything that you've said is going to help somebody that is probably really struggling right now. So I hope so. I'll be forever grateful for that, thank you, thank you.
