Okay, welcome back to the podcast Journey to Well. I am excited for this conversation because I was talking to Jacqueline before we started recording. I'm like I don't know when the last time I had a podcast specifically focused on cycle alignment. So this is Jacqueline her Instagram handle, or I guess you go by the menstrual mogul.
Speaker 1:We connected through Instagram and one of the things that I really love about your platform is how you share cycle alignment tips and tools and information to align in your business, and you probably have different language than I do and you're welcome to share that, but yeah, so today we're really just going to be talking about how we can use our cycle as women and probably a little human design in there, as always to align in our business and why that's important and why we should even be listening to information like this. So before we dive in, let me remind listeners your human design profile. For those that are nerdy about it like me, Jacqueline's a 2-4 Sacral Authority Generator and we'll talk a little bit about that throughout. But just to kind of throw that out there, and if you could introduce yourself, Jacqueline, who is, who is Jacqueline, who is the menstrual mogul, and however you want to share your, your story. Whatever boxes you want to put yourself in, go right ahead.
Speaker 2:Oh, thank you. Thank you so much, hannah, for having me on here. I'm really excited because human design is something I'm definitely newer to but can already resonate and relate to, and I feel like that's on a parallel plane as cycle syncing or alignment however you want to position that category or topic because it's all about like coming back to yourself and if you're a female in her menstruating years, listening to this podcast, tuning into your cycle, is coming back to yourself just like it is your human design, and I feel like we're all just like navigating this world trying to get back to that level of operation. But I became the menstrual mogul in the most serendipitous of ways. I did not have this on my bingo card at all in life and basically I grew up like many women with very painful periods, very debilitating cramps, pms, and I was told it was hereditary. And I was slapped with the birth control pill at a very young age and went through the whole shabil like that all of us ladies have gone through with our gynecologists or practitioners, right.
Speaker 2:And in addition to that, since we're going to be talking a little bit about business and how you can align your business with your cycle in my mid-20s, I had a very successful network marketing career where I had made six figures. I had a team of over a thousand coaches. I was in the health and nutrition uh like fitness field for at-home workouts and meal plans and stuff like that, and it was something that in my mid-20s, was really exciting. I wanted as a generator. I hate people telling me what to do and not like. Like the nine to five life was a visceral no for me. Being told what to do, having too much on my schedule, not being able to do what I want or like. Follow that this is a full body. Yes, vibe, that goes against me as a generator. I knew I had to get out of my nine to five situation, and so this network marketing career was the perfect vessel for that. However, I girl bossed way too close to the sun and was hustling and pressuring myself to show up the same way every day. I was burning at both ends between not only the work component and feeling like I had to have creativity and external output at like a very high level every single day, but also I was doing some health habits that I know now directly went against my hormones, my cycle and was just too much I was setting myself up for burnout.
Speaker 2:So in my late 20s, after about six years of operating that way, of following meal plans that were one size fits all and, honestly, business plans and strategies that were one size fits all, I had moved from the Philadelphia area to Jackson Hole, wyoming, which, if you don't know where that is, it's in the middle of the woods, it's in the middle of national park, like type views and mountains and everything like that. And my nervous system and my body and my soul was just like girl. You got to go from girl boss to girl Moss. We got to lay in the forest forest bathe, just be one with nature. And I essentially, in layman's terms, burnt out from the way I was operating. I couldn't, for the life of me, keep up with the way I was doing things before. When it came to my workouts and trying to do a hardcore workout every single day or follow a 1200 calorie meal plan every day, or show up and be creative in my business every day, I had nothing to give from and so I took it upon myself to just kind of reel back. I took up nannying, side gigs, whatever, just so I could make money and let myself heal.
Speaker 2:And then in the beginning of the pandemic, I or during the pandemic I realized that I was experiencing some symptoms and my cycle was off and back to like the health side of things. I just felt like something was off and I had a doula friend say you should read this book. It was called fix your period by Nicole Jardim, and I read it and at the very end, first of all it was mind blowing. But at the very end it talked about the different phases of our cycle and how you can adapt your lifestyle to it, whether it's through food, workouts or the type of work that you do. And that completely blew my freaking mind. I was like how were we not taught this information in this simple of a way in school or multiple times throughout school? I just couldn't believe it.
Speaker 2:So, since my background was in health and fitness, I first sang to my food and my movement, to my cycle, and I got rid of those painful periods and debilitating PMS that I had experienced my whole entire life, like literally rid myself of it.
Speaker 2:And then I thought to myself you know, if I had had this information when I was building my first six figure business, I would have been unstoppable. I would have had such a foundation to catapult off of and also a lot less mindset drama wondering what I should be doing or not. My cycle could have been the compass to a lot of these things that I was confused or felt like I had to do. So that is where the menstrual mogul was born, and so I help female entrepreneurs. I help them with their business strategy, I help them with their mindset, and then I call it like having a minor in cycle syncing and syncing your business and your work tasks and your self-care and other aspects of your life to your cycle, so you have the energy to operate as the CEO you know you're meant to be or become.
Speaker 1:Thank you for sharing that. I think that's such a story that is very relatable with at least the beginning part of your story and hopefully it becomes the whole story is very relatable to everyone listening, learning about cycle alignment and cycle syncing, because unfortunately it's a big piece of a lot of women's stories especially well, I was going to say especially if you're an entrepreneur, but honestly it's also working in corporate America. It's not like a one situation kind of place, but not knowing I mean I have. I have a very similar story. Like I would work out the same way, six days a week, 28 to 30 days a month, like it was just the very and and eat the same way, and like I did fasting for a while and I would fast the same way throughout my entire cycle.
Speaker 1:And of course, that's not sustainable and that's what we lead into is we learn our bodies show us in some way or another whether, like you, have hormonal issues, whether you have very painful periods, whether you hit that like plateau and you just feel like you can't go any further plateau and you just feel like you can't go any further. Um, so I'm curious, you said in part of your story you said I started with the food and I started with fitness. So that's one of my questions is where, if somebody is listening to this podcast and they're like I, don't, I, I. I so align with the first part of your story, but I don't know the first steps to take. Is that where you recommend your clients start? Is that where you would recommend people start is with food and nutrition, or start somewhere else?
Speaker 2:I do recommend that because, especially for female entrepreneurs, because of a few reasons because if they are struggling with PMS and they want to burn their business to the ground and they are breaking like ties with clients because their emotions and their mood swings are so out of control or they're having to cancel client calls because their period is so painful, you can't sync your business to your cycle to the nth degree that, like personally, I would love you to. If your cycle is wonky, out of whack and you're still experiencing a lot of these symptoms that we have been told are regular, but they're just common. They're not regular. It's not how we're supposed to be operating in our cycle. So I like to take all the guesswork out for my clients when it comes to the habits that get rid of PMS and painful periods for them, because there's a lot of information out there, and so I have this fun accountability challenge called the 28 sink. It was born out of the 75 hard but I don't like.
Speaker 2:I don't like. I love the idea of discipline. I love the idea of community and accountability. The only thing I don't love about the 75 hard is, depending on what your hormonal status is like, that could be working way against you than for you on how you're doing it. So I thought the 28 sync would be amazing and I give you five daily habits that if you did them.
Speaker 2:Most days like, one of my biggest flexes is people half-ass what I tell them to do and they still see results. But if you did these daily five habits, then you would see massive improvement in your periods, in your PMS symptoms, and when I say it happens quicker than you realize, you would be astounded. So I do love to start there, because then you get rid of those pesky symptoms and then you also have the energy to run your business the way you wanna run your business. So it doesn't take as long as you would think. I think women think, because we've been dealing with symptoms for our whole lives, it's gonna take our whole lives to get rid of it too, and it's not the case. So yeah, that is the place I think I would start with every female entrepreneur.
Speaker 1:And it's really true. One of the things that I've had on my mind a lot lately, that I've been reminded, is our bodies are constantly seeking homeostasis and balance and they're created to heal when they're in the right environment. And the problem, the issue is, for a lot of us, we're just creating an unsustainable environment. And when we make those shifts, it's like finally, kind of like when you went to Wyoming it's like finally I can breathe again and I can begin to heal and I can begin to, you know, heal these symptoms that maybe have I've been sharing, like our bodies are sharing with us. It's always this conversation that our bodies are just trying to talk to us. And when we're able to listen and understand these symptoms, understand that communication of our body, then we're able to begin that healing process.
Speaker 1:And then and then the next step would be focusing on the business part. Um, so I have one question and then I want to dive into our four phases, if we can. But the question before that would be what is the actually let's make it very personal what's been the most beneficial? And like empowering, part of aligning to your cycle that's the language that I use or like syncing to your cycle For you. What have you noticed long-term, because you've been doing this now for a while. What have you noticed long-term?
Speaker 2:I think the biggest thing for me that has been the most freeing and, in turn, just gives me again that generator energy to like do what I need to do and what like my special special actions are that like work, align with work and align with me and my business is the pressure to let go of comparing myself to someone else, because I find that when you use what I call cycle-centered focus with whether it's your health goals or your business goals, you really eliminate all the other noise because no one is gonna be I mean, some people might be, but no one's gonna be exactly where you are in your cycle or be embodying the superpowers that you have with whatever phase of your cycle you're in. You could be the week before your period feeling like a gremlin with no creativity and you're all of a sudden comparing yourself to someone in the ovulatory phase who's on Instagram and like killing it with stories. That is not a fair comparison, like at all you shouldn't be comparing yourself at all in general.
Speaker 2:So it just takes that away of like listen, I'm in my own lane, I know what my strengths are right now, I know what my weaknesses are right now and I don't need to do anything but work with what I got going on for me right now, and so I think just that freedom and elimination of the shoulds of entrepreneurship is really been the most beneficial, for me at least, and I see it with a lot of my one-on-one clients too. They just like let go of that expectation of the shoulds.
Speaker 1:I love that, I think, because especially like an example for me is before I learned the four phases of our cycle, and especially the luteal phase. Like that moment, and you're when you like, just wake up one day and you're like my life fucking sucks, like what am I doing with my life? My business is terrible, I'm not showing up the way that I need to, I hate my partner, like the house is a mess, and you're like what the fuck is going on. And then we have all of these thoughts and then we layer on all of the shame and the judgment and the guilt because we're like why am I thinking this way? Or like what did I do getting in this relationship with this person? That's whatever a slob, and like bothering me so much, or my business is just not aligned, and we have all of these negative thoughts. And then the judgment comes in and then we do, we get so at least I know I got so lost and just so confused. And one of the things that you said was like eliminating, eliminating the shoulds and eliminating the guesswork, and I think for me too, with human design and cycle alignment, they're very much the same tools that we can use to eliminate. Like they're the same. They're different tools but they have the same purpose of eliminating that inner critic.
Speaker 1:Is my language there? Like one of the things that I say in my business is we work to silence that inner critic, but really what we're doing is we're befriending it, because we're only critical of ourselves, because we don't fully understand what's going on and we don't fully understand what's what's happening like what's happening in the luteal phase or what's happening in, like, the follicular phase, where I feel so creative and I have this like burst of energy and like two weeks ago we were just falling apart. So you mentioned superpowers. So that's where I want to get into, because I love that language of kind of breaking down. If you would break down the superpowers of each of the four phases of our menstrual phase and sometimes I'm a very like let's start at the very beginning. So if you could also just generally explain each of the phases for people that might be listening that are like I don't know the four phases of our, of my, menstrual cycle.
Speaker 2:Absolutely, and I love to break it down in a really simple way that people will remember, because I feel like, if we've learned from professionals with really fancy degrees and they're talking about hormone names and all that stuff, like, my goal is to never make a woman feel like they're in a doctor's office or a school classroom, because it's just not where we've learned it in the past. So I want you guys to, like, come into this with a fresh set of ears and eyes and, like you were saying, superpowers yes, we have superpowers during each four phases of our cycle. So, as I'm explaining this, I want you guys to think of an Avengers team and how each like an Avengers team is a group of superheroes, right, and so each phase has, like, their superhero and their specific power, and then, when you bring them together, it literally they have the capability of taking over the world and it's so powerful, so unstoppable. But right now, most women are thinking that they're just one superhero with one superpower and that they're supposed to show up the same way day in and day out, and that's how a man's hormone hormone cycle works. Their hormone cycle resets every 24 hours. Ours resets every 30 ish days, depending on what your cycle is like. So I'm going to break down the four phases in a way that is easy for you guys to think back on and be able to pick up the different superpowers, and I do this by the seasons of the year. This is backed by traditional Chinese medicine, something that, to me, just makes sense.
Speaker 2:And so let's start with the phase that I know you guys know when you're in it, which is the week of your period, which is the menstrual phase. It's around three to seven days, and this is the winter phase of your cycle. So we're about to enter kind of the winter season, right, depending on where you are, but there is I want you guys to think about when it comes to the menstrual phase. I want you to think about the end of the year and how we are reflective around what went well the past year and what we kind of want to leave behind, what we want to take with us. I know last year it was like what stays in 2023? What comes into 2024? I'm sure that'll happen this year again.
Speaker 2:I want you to think of those cliche like reflections or even goal setting or vision board type stuff that is definitely a forte for you to do during the week of your period. The reason being is our hormones. Contrary to what society wants you to believe, that you're a hormonal wreck during the week of your period, your hormones are actually at their lowest the week of your period. So the left and right side of your brain, like biologically, can communicate clearer. So you're going to have a lot of breakthroughs, a lot of revelations.
Speaker 2:If you're a female entrepreneur, this is a time where, reflecting on your offers, your pricing, your client base, your social media, like what do you really want out of your business, think about it during the week of your period and that's going to be really, really powerful. And so this is. This is interesting because during winter, you know we're expected to be very social during the holiday season and really it's a time to turn inward and to rest and restore. You know we're inside a little bit more, so during the week of your period you may not feel as social, you may feel like you need to rest a bit more, especially if you're still dealing with painful periods. But I think we've all experienced when that hormonal veil has lifted and we feel like that surge of energy come back. It can even happen, like for me, my clients, it happens during our period, and so that this is a time just to gain a lot of clarity and to do a lot of those first of the month reflections or business activities. And so this is a time just to gain a lot of clarity and to do a lot of those first of the month reflections or business activities. And so this is again to the point that society wants us to do those type of things on the first of the month, the first of the calendar month. Well, if you're in the middle of your cycle, you might not feel inclined to do that. So I tell my clients and myself, we do like budgeting, we do reflections and everything on the week of our period instead, because we have that freedom as entrepreneurs.
Speaker 2:And so then, after our winter phase, we enter the phase of spring, which is the follicular phase, which is around seven to 10 days. And I know we all have felt that first day of spring, especially if you live in a place that has all four seasons, that time where you can finally wear like flip flops or just a t-shirt outside and there's this newness in the air around you. You're seeing little green things spurred up, like green shrubbery, spurred up after a really dark winter where you were just taking care of yourself and you're kind of ready to hit the ground running. So, in my humble opinion, I think New Year's goals and intentions should be set, or you should hit the ground running with them during the spring equinox instead of January 1st. But in the follicular phase, this is a perfect time to hit the ground running with your goals.
Speaker 2:You're going to feel a lot of inclination with creativity, with writing, with planning out goals, like planning out a launch or planning out a piece of content, whatever it is. The caveat is you have to plan out now with the other four phases in mind, because this is where, for me, I know like I'd be like oh, I'm doing this 75 hard, I'm doing this workout program, I'm doing this diet. This is the new me, this energy is my new baseline, and I can follow that you know expectation for a few weeks, and then my luteal phase would hit and I would just be like, oh, you can't be consistent for shit. And so just make sure if you're planning out stuff you're really excited about, that you're compensating for these other phases that I'm going to be talking about and the energy that comes with each of those two. But this is a very creative, very fun, very hit the ground running type of phase of our cycle that you can build a lot of momentum off of, especially in your business.
Speaker 2:And then, after spring, we hit the hot girl summer phase, which is our ovulatory phase, and this is around three to five days, and this is the time where, primarily, we are trying to attract a mate during our ovulatory phase and this is around three to five days, and this is the time where, primally, we are trying to attract a mate during our ovulatory phase so, literally, features of our body look more, you know, like delectable, like our our skin is more glowy. We are like emulating, like pheromones. We have like everything happening and we feel like the need to peacock our feathers. We even have like an uptick of testosterone to give us some delulue confidence, and so, when it comes to business, this is a great time to really call in and call out some of the things we want, some of the clients we desire or to do, live speaking or something that requires delusional confidence. So, for example, I always have my clients and their launch during the ovulatory phase, because it's high energy, high vibes. You feel like you can communicate to that ideal client that you're trying to serve and help with whatever offer you're launching, and it's just going to feel easier to end a launch there than you know on your period or the luteal phase, right. So it is a perfect time to really go for it, for whatever you've been thinking about doing or like trying or talking to or whoever Like. This is a really fun time. It's also a time where we can get in a little bit of trouble. I always say, like, who you hook up with in your ovulatory phase, make sure you still like them in your menstrual phase. Like where your hormones are lower, because our hormones are like pretty high right now. Right, like they're getting up there, and so sometimes we can start projects or meet people or do whatever, make connections that we think at the time may be great, but maybe down the line we're rethinking it. So it's just a time to tap into delusion, but also like reconsult, okay. And so then we enter the fall season of our cycle, which is the luteal phase, which is around 10 to 14 days. This is the phase of our cycle that I need my ladies to pay most attention to. We feel like we have some of that energy from the ovulatory phase spill into the first half of the luteal phase. So we still feel like we got some energy, some creativity, some magnetism within us, but then that week or five days before our period, this is where I need all hands on deck.
Speaker 2:When it comes to self-care, when it comes to boundaries, when it comes to your schedule, you need to have the right things in place and there's a biological reason why. So the easiest example to give is you know, I told you I would try to follow one size fits all meal plans and workout plans, and this is the week that it would all fall apart. And there was a reason for it. First of all, our um, our body temperature, is higher during our luteal phase and because of that, our metabolism is higher. So following a one size fits all meal plan is essentially going to starve you during the luteal phase and, honestly, can kickstart fat storage and go against what your goal may even be. We need more calories, we need more protein during the luteal phase. So if you struggle with binging or like cravings during your PMS zone, I urge you to eat more protein first and see how all of that falls to the wayside. To eat more protein first and see how all that falls to the wayside.
Speaker 2:We also are naturally predisposed to more cortisol, which is our stress hormone, during this phase of our cycle. So what? So we're already predisposed to it. We're already running our business that makes us predisposed to it. And then throw on not eating breakfast before caffeine and then not eating enough in general, and you're just pouring gasoline on the cortisol fire. So that's where we have our burn our business to the ground feelings and really mental breakdowns, and I bet if you guys just ate more like scale back on the intense workouts, you'd feel a lot better. So those are just some of the things that hopefully validate why you feel the way you feel and how we cannot show up the same way every day, especially from a self-care standpoint when it comes to our luteal phase.
Speaker 2:Now, there's a lot of benefits to the luteal phase too. We are hyper-focused on details and we really feel like we can get some like back-end work, like behind the scenes work done during our luteal phase, and this is a superpower. I feel like we all know that we need to maybe update our website or onboarding system or really make sure we're like fine tuning, like a sales page or whatever. And these are the types of quote unquote, like boring stuff that like you can do during the luteal phase. I know for me I'm about to be like in the middle of my luteal phase and I've been debating putting a shop page together on my website and I'm like, actually like this is the perfect time to do that. It's like work, that is like behind the scenes. It's important, it's going to make me money but, like during my higher energy phases, telling me to sit down and look at my computer for that many hours is absolute torture. So this is very much so a luteal phase thing. So there's benefits and work that can be done during the luteal phase. And also, you know, making sure you have the boundaries in place for higher energy work, such as calls, podcast interviews, stuff like that is going to be really important.
Speaker 2:My clients freak out when I tell them I don't have calls on my schedule for around seven to 10 days during parts of my luteal phase and into my period. And people are like, well, what do you do? And I'm like, well, there's all this other backend work, or I do nothing. Like, well, there's all this other backend work or I do nothing. That's what I do, and I feel like sometimes that's a hard concept for female entrepreneurs to grasp, but it is a thing. So those are the four phases, each again with their superpowers, and I think if entrepreneurs and women in general could zoom out and look at what they're accomplishing in a monthly basis when they work with those superpowers, instead of a 24 hour period, they're going to feel a lot more successful and see how they are consistent and able to work in alignment and get just as much done as those people that push and hustle.
Speaker 1:Thank you for sharing all that. That was so much great information. I love all the superpowers in each of the phases and I think it really is, at least for me. It was so much great information. I love all the superpowers in each of the phases and I think it really is, at least for me. It was very much this unlearning process, because we're taught that we always have to be doing Like if you want to achieve your fitness goals, you can't take a day off, or you can't take a week off, because then you're going to fall so much further behind. Or if you want to achieve all of these nutrition goals, and then you're going to fall so much further behind. Or if you want to achieve all of these nutrition goals and then you decide that you need, like, some extra calories one day, you're just going to fall apart and there's there's so much unlearning there.
Speaker 1:And same with our business, just where you're using that example of I don't see clients for that that week of like end of luteal phase, beginning of my menstrual phase, our initial reaction because of our conditioning and recognizing that it's conditioning, but our initial reaction is probably exactly what you said Like are you joking? Like, can you not tell me to do that or ask me to do that. So one of my questions to follow up would be at least I know for me I definitely dealt with this and I know in beginning of working with my clients they have the same mindset of on deconditioning that consistency, like actually falling into this acceptance of and surrender of what it means to live in a cycle, versus to live in that, like you say, kind of that like 24 hour phase or stage. What did, did you struggle with that? And what do you tell yourself? Or what do you tell your clients when there's that all of that like initial clamping up and clenching up and like are you serious? What are you asking?
Speaker 1:me.
Speaker 2:And this is a reason why I have to coach people on mindset too. It's because it is deconstructing these beliefs, these visualizations and narratives that have kind of been put up, pressed upon us. And so I always think, from a visual standpoint, your entrepreneurial journey can go one or two ways. The first is think of like a graph and a straight line going up. That's like the girl boss hustle, going, going, going straight up all the time, all the time. Then you reach a top and then you fall straight down and it's like this zigzag, messy line falling down Right yeah, or how I work now, because I did that girl boss all the way up to the top, and then a messy line that literally ended in me walking away from a business and all those team members I had. And so the other option and all those team members I had, and so the other option, which is what I do now, is it's like a graph line but it's a little line up, and then there's like a rest line, and then a little line up and then a rest line, and you're still growing and you're still going up, but there's this like integrative rest period and, mind-blowingly enough, it's during a time when your body actually needs rest. So what I'm getting at is like, okay, follicular and ovulatory phase is all up, then part of the luteal phase is rest, then end of menstrual phase, follicular phase, ovulatory phase, we're going up, then luteal phase, take a rest. It's like it's like hit, you know, like a hit workout, like you go hard and then you rest, and then you go hard, and then you go hard and then you rest, and that is much more sustainable. You're still growing, you're still doing the things, but you're going at a pace that's going to be sustainable, because the alternative is going, going, going and then burning out and not coming back from it.
Speaker 2:That didn't work for me, that was too much. This dream wasn't for me. Me because I couldn't keep up or because I couldn't be consistent, or whatever. And honestly, again, that's just aligning with a man's hormone cycle and how they're able to show up the same way every day, and that's quite literally how we were not created as women in our menstruating years. So why are you setting yourself up for failure? And so I think, yeah, yeah, you can either take your rest in the burnout stage or you can take it every month and not burn out and actually create a sustainable business it's really redefining that word of what does consistency mean?
Speaker 1:what does that mean to you and what does that actually look like as a female? Because the other thing to remember is, like, depending on where you are right, like some, depending on your entire month, like what happened during the ovulation phase specifically, sometimes we come to the menstrual phase and we're like, yeah, no, I just need to do absolutely nothing. And sometimes we come to the menstrual phase and it is we feel, that ability to tap into the superpowers of our heightened intuition of that like right, left brain connection being a lot easier. So it's not always that we're not doing anything. And it's also really important when we're starting this journey to recognize that in the beginning we might be pretty tired. It might be a lot of months, or not a lot, but a few months of let me fully rest. Because to me, I always, I always imagine that it's like our bodies are finally like, finally, you're listening to me. And so now, let me, let me ask you, now that you understand what I'm asking you to rest, I'm going to ask you to really rest and to really surrender into that couple days, few days of resting, and it's not, it's, it's truly not doing nothing. You're really like re revamping your energy, and that's where we can also kind of get into the human design energy types as well, like it's really, if you know human design, I'm imagining this is really easy to understand if you are a manifestor, specifically because manifestors have and projectors actually, and reflectors, but they have that like cyclical of like they'll have like a burst of energy. Manifestors and projectors are very much sprinters. It's like manifestors are the really like fast and a little bit longer distance sprinter projector might be that like a hundred yards sprint or whatever.
Speaker 1:I have known nothing about track and field but we're pretending Um and then and then generators and manifesting generators, they're those long distance runners. But also remembering long distance runners don't run forever. So, no matter where you are, remembering that we all need rest, we all need that break. Nothing grows forever, even just looking. I like that you talk about the seasons, and so do I when I talk about cycles. But think about, like nature, the trees. Trees aren't constantly producing, they're. The leaves are falling right now in fall, and then we're going to go into that hibernation period of winter and then they're going to be producing and then, flowering and that's truly how we are created as females.
Speaker 1:And so there's all of these really beautiful tools that we can use to begin to unlearn, to begin to decondition. We can use mindset, we can use cycle alignment, we can use human design, and some fun coaches combine different like you combine different aspects of that, because it truly is this deconditioning process and then stepping into those superpowers and stepping into how can I create a life where, like you said, where I'm not falling into that burnout and having to walk away from businesses or having to walk away from clients, but it's that sustainable, taking a break every season and then coming back.
Speaker 2:Yeah, no, it's so true. And I love what you said about nature and it's like talk about consistency. You know how old trees are. You can't call a tree or any part of nature like inconsistent. They show up every single season doing exactly what they're meant to be doing. They don't question what's happening next to them or that other planet over there, like it's just innate. It's innate, it's in us and it's in them, and you know so I love that analogy, yeah.
Speaker 1:And I think you said something before we hit record or maybe that's on the podcast Something about when you learned your human design, specifically you being a generator. You're like, yeah, I feel like it's all me, and that's truly what learning cycle, alignment and human design is. You're just learning you. You're learning pieces of yourself that probably had not been accepted or maybe at one time of your life was shamed or judged and then it caused you to kind of question what that piece of you, the worthiness of that piece of you, and so learning all of these tools is. Maybe you said this it's, it's a coming back home, is all it is. It's just returning back to your center and your, your powers, and I think the coolest thing about women is that we have so many different powers and it depends on our energy type and it depends on where we are in our cycle and we get to tap into all of those different powers in different parts of the month.
Speaker 2:Yeah, no, I think that's such a beautiful part too, and I'm someone who loves versatility, I love fun change, and so you nailed it on the head. Like we, we don't have to be the same. We're not the same person every day. Our, like brain changes 25% throughout our cycle, so so should our habits, our goals, and then take into account our human design, and that's what I love about all of these things is that you also don't have to live and die by cycle syncing or human design or astrology or whatever you take. You take what is helping you and, like you can mesh it all together into your own unique like toolkit of sorts. I'm finding so much value in my toolkit from human design and cycle syncing or other other tests or whatever personality things, but it just gets to be whatever you need to operate the best way you can, and so this is just another way for you to tap into that.
Speaker 1:It is. It's not putting you in a box. That's what I say a lot of times with human design, like I'm not telling you who you are or how you are. I'm not putting you in a box. It's sharing these little pieces of your blueprint and you then have the opportunity to take what serves you in this season of your life and leave the rest. And if it's like I'm talking about something or you're talking about something that we're just not there yet, we were just like not conceptualizing it or understanding or processing it, then you're just not meant to understand that right now and it doesn't mean that you never will.
Speaker 1:This is just part of your journey. So is there anything else? Before we talk a little bit more about human design and your human design, is there anything else that, when you're thinking about coming on this podcast, you're like I really want to make sure that I say this?
Speaker 2:I just, like I mentioned before we hit record is my goal isn't to get you to follow or do exactly what I say or what I talk about or what I do. It's just for you to ask and be curious and wonder why you do things the way you do. Like, why is there a nine to five work week? Why is our, like, the first of the month the best time to set our goals and intentions? Why is the new year era like the time to reinvent and revamp ourselves? Like, why, why? And I want you to just ask why and get curious around it and if the answer still aligns like is a great answer and it aligns with who you are, keep going for it.
Speaker 2:But I don't think enough of us are asking like, why am I doing this this way in this time frame, with this expectation, with this set of skill? Like, why am I doing this because? Or why am I dealing with painful periods? Or why do I have pms? Like, what is the root? Like, why am I just being thrown the pill left and right from my doctors? Why isn't this shit taught in school?
Speaker 2:Like I just care about women being curious and feeling empowered, and I believe that knowing about your cycle, knowing even just the bare bone basics of how I broke down the four phases.
Speaker 2:That is empowerment, that is education and knowledge that you can take and do whatever you want with in the future with your kids, with young girls, with whoever.
Speaker 2:And I think that is the most powerful thing you can do is ask why and have the information you need to make decisions based on like who you are as a woman and what you specifically need, not what society or government or whoever thinks that you need. So that's just what I would say, and I also always encourage especially my female entrepreneurs to consult their cycles calendar as much as their Google or like Outlook calendar. Yeah, don't leave it on the second home screen of your cell phone and only log your period and check it once a month. Get that shit onto your calendar. Block out the four phases. Next time suzy calls you to book a podcast, do not do it two days before your period like a different time. Start getting intentional, start getting freaking intentional with your time, and it's not only gonna to make your life easier, but the services you're delivering are going to be of more value, of better energy and of better intention, and that's going to matter for your clients and the results that they see too.
Speaker 1:I love that and notice, like I always tell my clients, just notice how you feel, notice what comes up, notice like when you are implementing some of these tips or tools. Then notice how you feel for the rest of the month. It's not. I think that we do. I love your message because of asking why, because we've honestly this this is a whole other conversation that we don't need to dive into but we've been taught that to not ask why. If you just think of like school, right, it's like sit down, listen to your teacher your teacher knows best. Sit down, listen to your parents, be quiet, don't. If you're asking why, then you're being a smart ass or you're being difficult or you know what I mean. And so we've been raised this way in just our society of listen to your doctor your doctor knows best. Of not listening to our bodies, of not asking ourselves and checking in with ourselves, and so that comes in in honestly every area of our life, also with coaches. So I'm not saying like this is not a let's work together pitch, it's again just reiterating why, why do you want to work with this specific coach? Because a lot of coaches will pose I have the answer. I have like the that one size fits all answer, or maybe not even the one size fits all, but I have the answer and that's something that I founded my, my business on is I don't actually have the answer for you. I'm sharing tools that worked the best for me. Maybe they'll work for you, maybe they won't, but don't listen to every single thing that I say as gold or like put again, like putting yourself in that box of generator or like Enneagram five or whatever the Myers-Briggs are like.
Speaker 1:Don't put yourself in that box. Ask yourself it's like that one step before. Ask yourself why does this align? That's something that I use a lot, and especially with the sacral center. If we're talking about human design, you and I both have what's called a sacral authority, and if you're a manifesting generator or generator, you may have a sacral authority, you may have a defined sacral center, and that's a really great tool to tap into and ask yourself does this align with me? Like, does this serve me right now? Or for generators, does this serve me right now? Or for generators, does this light me up right now? And ask that before you jump, before you jump in, like working with a coach or learning about whatever, or starting a new job or working with a new client. Asking yourself does this align?
Speaker 2:is a really powerful, powerful question, along with the, the why yeah yeah, and I think that kicks off a relationship between you and your clients from a much more empowered standpoint than again thinking that you have the answer and you're like the lead and you're the only one with like the information.
Speaker 2:In this like relationship I always say, like I don't want my one-on-one clients to be cookie cutter versions of me at all whatsoever. My, my job is to come in and collaborate and to like, maybe help you see some things that maybe you're too close to, and like, but to be in there with you and again, like you're saying, to ask, like why do I need this? Like what will this do for me? And that again just comes from such a more empowered standpoint for the client and the mentor and everything. Yeah.
Speaker 1:I love it all. Right, I'm gonna throw a quick curveball at the end. I have to pull up your chart just to double check. But but um, so I want to talk only because this has come up so much in the past week, and so this is when I was looking through your chart, I'm like, yep, let's talk about this. So in human design, we have what's called a manifestation process and it has to do with your arrows, and I'm not going to give all of the background on it. I talk about it quite often on my Instagram, so you can always listen, but you are we can either be a specific or a non-specific manifester, and if your arrow points left, you're specific. If it's points right, you're non-specific, which also all of your arrows. We have four arrows. All of your other arrows point right. Uh, and this is your only left pointing arrow, which is kind of fun. I love talking about human design arrows.
Speaker 1:So you're a specific manifester, which means when we are, and I would say like one of the biggest tools that we can use this in is during our menstrual phase, actually, because we're again like we're able to tap into our intuition, that brain, like left right, is equalized and, um, one of the ways that I always talk about our menstrual phase is like you have just an easier connection to the divine. Is what I say, so you want to call, so you want to call it.
Speaker 1:God you want to call it spirits, your angel, guides, whoever the universe, whatever. So, using your manifestation process as an, as a specific manifester, you do really well. Like the easiest flow that you're going to have is when you are detail oriented and really focused on your goals. So, specific manifestors this is kind of the way that I feel like I learned about manifestation is like when you want to up-level your business, right, like, how many new clients do I want? How much more money? Or how much money do I want to be making a month With your tiny house?
Speaker 1:Right, you're like manifesting your tiny house. What is what do I? What like color do I want this tiny house to look like? Where do I want it to be? What square footage do I want it to be?
Speaker 1:Like, having those fine details is really imperative with a specific manifester as opposed to non-specific manifestors. Our invitation there is to really focus on the energy of how I want to feel. So it's not like how many new clients do I want to call in, it's what do I want to feel when I'm working with those clients? What do I want the energy of my new clients to be? I want someone that's really engaged and really willing to work with me and blah, blah, blah, you know, and those are the two, and there's only two different manifestation processes. This is a really quick, brief overview, but I'm curious how it aligns with you, because we always find like more often than not, I find people are like Ooh, I feel like I've been manifesting the opposite way, cause it's like I've been manifesting the opposite way, cause it's almost easier for me to manifest the opposite way.
Speaker 2:No, I definitely, I definitely align with what you're talking about, because even for, for instance, with this tiny house that I'm in right now, like during lion's gate in August, I got very specific around, like having a um floor bed so that my three-legged dog could get on it, or being in a tiny house, or being in somewhere that was bright and white.
Speaker 2:And if you guys can't see me, I'm in a bright, white tiny house on a floor bed right now with my dog, and sometimes I don't realize that those specifics even come up, but they are specific. Or recently I've been doing this practice where you know how, like we visualize vacation and like what we're going to wear, what we're going to do, how we're going to feel when, like X, y, z happens. I've been trying to apply that to business related stuff too, and I do find that those specifics feel very, very juicy, because if something for me is too abstract, like I want more money in my business, like it's a WTF does that, I just don't know. I don't know what that means, but if it can pay for x, y and z, or I can do x, y and z because of that, that's gonna like juice me up a lot more than just. I want whatever amount of money you know with that.
Speaker 1:Oh, I love that. Yeah, I've always found like the manifestation visualizations where they're just kind of more focused on the energy. I'm like, yeah, but it feels yeah, it feels very abstract, it feels like obscure, where I don't have that clarity even in the actual visualization, unless I have those details of, like, what the color is, what I'm wearing what yeah? I love that, all right. Well, that's your fun, your fun. Human design tip for the week.
Speaker 2:I love that. I'm definitely going to keep tapping into that because I've already like definitely gone down that route, but that just like solidifies and validates it even more.
Speaker 1:I love that. Thank you so much for coming on. If people want to follow up with you and want to find you, where do you hang out the most and what are your handles?
Speaker 2:Yeah, I hang out most on Instagram at menstrual mogul, and then I also have a plethora of episodes over on the menstrual mogul podcast. I talk a little bit about business, a little bit about mindset or like, personal life, and a little bit about health and wellness when it comes to cycle syncing. So that has just so much great information where I do even deeper dives on some of the topics we talked about today. So that would be a great place to start.
Speaker 1:Yeah, thank you so much, jacqueline, it was such a fun conversation. Yeah, you too.
