G'day gals, welcome back to the pod. I am back today doing a short episode, and this will be a short episode because I am here today just with a bit of an announcement, bit of an update for the podcast fam. So if you're a regular listener, I mean, first of all, if you're a first-time listener, very random episode to walk into. But if you're a regular listener, you will know that sitting here right now, if you're listening in real time, we are coming into my deficit, which is exciting. So I've been doing my five-week, five-month, well, five-month muscle gain phase off the back of like a year and a half at maintenance. So coming into a deficit for the first time in like two years, which is exciting. But obviously, we've spent years on the podcast talking about how deficits can be a little bit draining, a little bit taxing, a little bit fatiguing, all the things. So I'm super pumped for mine. Like I'm chomping at the bit. I'm like a bull in the gate because I haven't done one in so long. But coming into the deficit, I am aiming for 10 weeks, and I'll be starting on Monday, July 27th. And I have three little announcements I want to make today. The first one people might not like, but hear me out. First announcement is starting next week, we are gonna go to one podcast a week for the 10-week duration of my fat loss phase. I made this decision purely for myself because just thinking about going into those 10 weeks, like I said, we know deficit can just be like require a bit more focus, a bit more energy. And right now I pretty much give all of my energy to my clients, or I like DV up my energy to my clients, divvy up a big amount to the pod, DV up a big amount to myself, like my own nutrition and training. But like I said, I've done five months in the surplus and a year and a half at maintenance before that. So even though I've been like focused on my goals, they're quite easy goals when it comes to like the mental load of them. Like it's just like make sure you eat enough food rubs and get after it in the gym, right? Has been my mentality for the last year and a half, which is awesome. This is why I'm chomping at the bit to rip into the deficit. But coming back to what I was saying, just in terms of like divvying up my energy into different things, I am thinking about going into that deficit, and it's just gonna require like a bit more focus, a bit more energy from me. And I'm essentially just making the decision to pull some of the energy I give to the pod and give it to myself for those 10 weeks. And I wanted to talk about this on the pod for a second. I am gonna keep it short. But I think this is cool. Like I speak so much on the podcast, and obviously, if you've been a client of mine, we would have had these conversations for you personally, but just talking about like lining up your nutrition goals and your phases with other things in your life when you can. So there's kind of like the duality. There's a bit of a lesson here, a bit of duality, where it's cool to actually look at different things in your life and go, like, when would it make sense for me to really prioritize myself or a certain goal or a certain phase? And when might it not? And then is there anything I can do to make those things work a little bit better together? So that's exactly what I'm doing here. Like I said before, just pulling some of that energy I give to the pod and being like, I'm gonna give this to myself for these 10 weeks. But then the duality is like there's still obviously shit that we have to get up and do every day, regardless of our goals, regardless of our phases. So even if we think about what I was saying there, like regardless of my goal or my face, I'm always gonna give a certain amount of energy and time and everything to my clients. And so there are things where we just have to be like, I need to make this thing work with my goal, my phase, whatever. And then there are things we can look at and go, how could I tweak this to work for me a little bit better for the goal and everything that I want to work towards right now? So that is why I've made the decision to go to one podcast a week. We are gonna do something cool with the podcast. So the second little announcement I have is that for these 10 weeks, Gmot is gonna be back on the pod with me. If you're a new listener this year and you haven't gone back to old episodes, you might not have even heard Gmott on the pod, but Gmot's been in Eat Lack Ruby for like three years, and she has been on the pod a lot back in probably like 2024, 25. And so G is gonna come back. Gmod, if people don't know, Gmot stands for Georgia Mott. So Georgia Mott is gonna be back on the pod with me for the 10 weeks, and G's essentially gonna like kind of host the episode and basically like interview me about how the deficit's going. And we're kind of going to approach it where we'll address different topics each week. So we've got a little bit of a plan. Like the first episode is gonna be speaking all about wrapping up the muscle gain phase. Second episode is gonna be all about how I'm setting up the deficit and what my deficit's gonna look like. Third episode is gonna be a QA. Um, we're gonna do like a training focus. So we are gonna do different focuses throughout the episode and kind of have a different topic like we do now. But like I said, G is gonna be there for every episode and pretty much just ask me questions and see like how am I applying that specific topic or that thing to my fat loss phase at the time, and then we'll also obviously do questions and give updates on like progress and results and everything as well. So my decision for doing that was also kind of tying back to that first decision. If we think about the podcast, guys, like just think about it like this for a second. Every week I essentially do like two 45-minute speeches. Think about any time in your life where you have to do a speech. It's like a friggin' nightmare. And I randomly choose to do it twice a week. It's so random when you think about it. But it is a lot when you think about it like that. Like I think of two topics, I make all the notes or dot points or whatever if that's how I want to approach that episode. I then literally sit in this room by myself and ramble for 45 minutes or longer. And then you're always thinking about, like when it's two a week, you're just always thinking about what one's next, when does that one come out? Have we edited it? Have we got the, you know, the YouTube thumbnail, the description, the title, the snippets, all of the things. Like so much goes into the pod that we don't think about. And just thinking about, like I said, if you do two episodes a week solo, you're essentially staring down. Like I'd be staring down the barrel of doing 20 speeches in the next 10 weeks. When you think about it like that, it makes sense. As opposed to getting G More or someone on with me is so easy. It's like having a conversation. So, again, just coming back to that first point, I'm just thinking, like, wow, how nice to know that for 10 weeks G's gonna walk in with me, she's kind of gonna ask all the questions, we're just gonna be able to have a yap, and then we can go from there. And I don't have to really think about the pod. I can walk in once a week, talk, walk out, not have to think about it until the next week. And that is very appealing. Like, you guys know I love the pod. I absolutely love the pod, but so nice to just be like, wow, I don't really have to think about it for 10 weeks. That is so nice. So that's the second thing. Genewhat will be here. We're gonna do pretty much like a 10-week fat loss series. So the first episode will drop next Tuesday. We're gonna do Tuesday drops because we've obviously done Monday, Wednesday, drop it in the middle. Um, Tuesday drops starting next Tuesday for the 10 weeks. And then the final little announcement on top of all this is we have added a podcast QA form to our website. So if you go to eatlackruby.com.au slash podcast, or if you just go to the main website, click on the podcast, um, we've added a QA form there for people to submit questions about my deficit. About my deficit. Do not use that form to submit random shit or try and get free advice out of me. This is so if we're doing these episodes about my deficit and certain things come up, if you're like, oh, I want to hear more about that, or I wonder how she tackles this, etc., you can go to the website, submit questions about that. So that will be up there for the duration of my fat loss phase. I am aiming for a 10-week fat loss phase, and obviously Gmot and I will talk about this in the coming weeks, like what all that's gonna look like, if it might be shorter, it might be longer, etc. But right now I am aiming for 10 weeks, knowing that I might cap it sooner or I might drag it out a little bit longer, but thinking about it as 10 weeks to start with, and that will be Monday, July 27th, and then it goes through to whatever the first Sunday is in October. And so when we're looking at it in terms of pods, it's pretty much gonna be all the pods throughout August and September will be about this. And the one little thing I want to say there is I know some people, like we have some people that aren't into fat loss. If you heard that and you're like, oh my god, they're just gonna talk about fat loss for 10 weeks, you guys know, like I'm gonna go off in so many directions. But we're also just gonna talk about like what my training's gonna look like in this time and my day on a plate. And am I gonna be tracking food? Am I not? Will I be taking weight? Will I not? How will I monitor progress? So it's not just gonna be like all fat loss chat. It's kind of like navigating all the different things that come with a phase. So that is what we're gonna be doing for the next 10 weeks. If you haven't listened to the very last episode I did on Monday, that was a massive episode. I think that was our biggest episode ever, in the end. And I spoke all about Eat Lack Ruby and the business and what I have been through and what it has been through over the last few years. And what I'm talking about right now with the podcast almost kind of ties into that where just being in a position where I'm just like, what do I want to do? And obviously, I always want to help my clients and I want to help you guys, and I know people love the pod, but never wanting to feel like, oh my god, I have to talk about XYZ or I have to do X amount of podcasts a week. Always want to be able to just bring it back and be like, what genuinely feels good, what suits me. I know there are gonna be people that are like, oh my god, I love the pod. I can't believe you're going from two to one. Well, yes, I am, so suck it up, kids. But also, great time to go back and catch up on episodes that you've missed if you want to. Go back and listen to old episodes if you want to, or if nothing else, just have a little bit less Ruby in your life for a few weeks. Might be nice. But I think that's actually all for me. Going to one episode a week, GWA will be here with me. We'll be talking all about my fat loss phase and also just my mindset, my nutrition, my training, my progress, everything that comes with going through a phase. And if you have any questions that come up off the back of these episodes, you can go to eatlike.com.au, submit those questions there. And apart from that, I will be back next Tuesday with Gmot. That was a short episode. Hell yes, she's making changes already. Thank you so much, guys. I will see you then.
