Selling doesn’t have to feel grubby. In this honest, practical chat with sales expert Meg Roundell Greene, we unpick the stories that make so many women feel “ick” about selling—and rebuild a values-led approach rooted in integrity, service and impact.

You’ll hear how to reframe sales as a loving invitation to change (not manipulation), and why seeing it as an exchange of value—in their favour—shifts everything. We also talk making the intangible tangible in coaching, the money mindset myths that keep women small, and how to “sell yourself” confidently for pay rises and promotions.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • A simple reframe to turn sales shame into integrity.
  • How to make your value concrete so buyers can see it.
  • Why money mindset and selling must be worked on together.
  • A quick win: find the “no-brainer” price you can actually sell today.

If you’re a busy working woman who cares deeply about your work and your people, this one’s for you—no fluff, no hard sell, just grounded tools to help you show up with courage and clarity. And if you want support to rewrite your sales story (with heart and backbone), book a free clarity call via my site. 💛

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Welcome, welcome, welcome everybody to this week's podcast, and I am very excited to have this conversation today.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Because I've got Meg joining me, who is a sales expert. She's a working mum.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
She has boys, just like me.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
And I think our conversation is just going to be absolutely

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Perfect for anybody who's struggling with

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Selling, which I feel like a lot of women do, actually. So, Meg, do you want to introduce yourself, and then we'll start our…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Yeah, let's do it! Thank you so much, it's lovely to be here, Nikki. Um, so, yeah, I'm Meg, and I've spent my career in corporate sales, and I started my business in 2019. So, now I help business owners really unpick

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Conversation.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
The messy tangle that happens in our brain about showing up

[Meg Roundell Greene]
being in front of people, asking for money, essentially, and that exchange of value. So I've spent the last 6 years doing that and helping businesses grow, but doing it in a way that doesn't feel…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
kind of doesn't feel gross. This is what I always say, it doesn't give you the yuck factor when you do it.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
And it's so interesting, isn't it? Because this is something which is why I'm excited about our conversation.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
This is something that I struggle with. Even though I'm an expert in managing my mind, managing my emotions,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
There's this… when it comes to selling, there are two things that… that make me want to throw up.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
One, I can always remember my mum saying to me,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Oh, you don't want to sell things.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
You don't want to go into selling. And I never really… she just used to say the same with money, oh, they've got money. As if there's some sort of disdain attached to it.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
And then the second thing is, when I think of selling,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
I literally think of the Wolf of Wall Street, like that white…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Middle-aged man trying to manipulate you and shaft you out of a load of money, which feels…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 so shit to me.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
And I've got better, because I'm realizing that actually selling for me is just this loving invitation.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 For someone to change.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
But it's really interesting, isn't it, how all of those beliefs…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
affect how we then go out and sell, and if we don't sell to people, they don't get the transformation or the opportunity to experience our

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
our value, our, you know, the most amazing skills. So, what… in your experience,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
How do you see most people approaching sales?

[Meg Roundell Greene]
This is so interesting. So there's… there's so much in what you just said. I'm like, let's get into it, because I think…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah. Go for it.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Sales has a bad reputation, and for good reason. We don't… we don't pick up these beliefs and these stories and these narratives by mistake.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
It has a bad reputation for good reason, because what we've seen being modeled

[Meg Roundell Greene]
is gross. When we have been in those situations, and we see those films, and we see people making lots of money, especially women making lots of money,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Can you remember in a film, women with lots and lots of money who've never been the villain?

[Meg Roundell Greene]
doesn't happen. Cruella de Vil, she had lots of money.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah, that's so true.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah, yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
villain. They're all villains! So, on the one hand, we're just raised in this environment where it's very handy to keep women scared

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
to be confident, scared to be loud, scared to ask what they want for, scared to, kind of, state their needs and demands on the one side, but we're kind of not going to go into that too much, but that's really… that really gets me going.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
But on the other hand, you're so right, it's just this kind of…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 impolite, rude,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
um… cautious, it… let's not go there, almost like it's a dirty word, because of all those reasons.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
And you're so right, when you can see it for what it is and say, I have value to offer, which is incredible and transformative,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 And people need this,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
then selling really is just the door that you have to open for them to come in.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
So we have to do the conscious work of unpicking what we have been told,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
about selling, and find the way that we can do it boldly,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
in a way that's aligned and with integrity, so we can make impact. And that's the work that I get really excited to do, because there are going to be people that you disagree with who do it their way, and you can look at that and be like, that's not my way, and that's totally fine, but it's

[Meg Roundell Greene]
for me, if you want to have really huge impact in the world,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Even with one person, I'm not saying it has to be thousands of people, but big impact with one person, you have to get really friendly with.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Hmm.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Selling, and really friendly with this.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 idea that you're not taking.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
It is an exchange, and it's always in their favor.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
When you can get to the place of, this is an exchange of value, and I know the value is always in their favor,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
That's amazing. That's the best possible place to sell from, because then you can just do it all the time and feel amazing about it.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah, yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
So, how does someone get there?

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 to that belief.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
it's by noticing literally all the thoughts, like you said, it's by noticing, this is where I am currently, this is what I think about, these are the feelings I have.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
when I sell, this is what comes up as an emotional response in my body, that feeling of, like,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
shutting down, or feeling a bit sick, or, like, sometimes you can't get the words out… out of your throat, and your throat closes. Like, that is…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
It's almost like a mini trauma response, honestly.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
And we have to be really patient with it, and really notice it, and then start getting really curious about

[Meg Roundell Greene]
That's coming from something that's in me, that's coming from a thought that's just gone round and round my head.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
But I need to really look out, and I need to really put it in my hand and take a look at that.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
and figure out what's going on. And then I need to also be around people who are doing

[Meg Roundell Greene]
this in a way that I like.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
And find those role models for yourself. Find a way that you can find women, particularly, that are doing it in a way that you love,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 And be around their energy.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Be in places where you see it being done well. I think that's the…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
That's the quickest route, because if you're in places where people are doing it in a terrible way that makes you feel sick, you're never gonna get on board

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah. Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
with selling, because what you see will just be…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 You'll just keep repeating it.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Mmm. And I'm curious, have you noticed if there's a difference between if you're selling a service

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
So, like, for me, I'm selling life coaching, versus selling a product, like,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
a moisturizer, or this is, you know, a

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
I don't know, this is what you will tangibly get.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Did you ever see a difference for people struggling?

[Meg Roundell Greene]
I think it's kind of yes and no, because

[Meg Roundell Greene]
our thoughts about it just affect everything. It's more intense and personal, I think, if it's services, and if it's your services.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
So if it, for example, coaching, or you're doing website designing, or graphic designing, but you're the person delivering it, I think that's

[Meg Roundell Greene]
harder, because then there's also, kind of, wrapped up into that

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Will I be good enough? Will they get the result? Will it be the thing?

[Meg Roundell Greene]
how can I say this? Like, I feel like it's closer to us.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
But then I've worked with people who do have product-based businesses, and they still have all of that

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 kind of negative suppression about

[Meg Roundell Greene]
bothering people. And I'm like, these people are on your list, they've already put their hand up to say, I love this.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
You don't want to tell them about the new thing.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
So, I think it just happens across both, but especially with service providers, it's more…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
it feels more personal, and it can get a bit more tangly, in my experience.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Mmm, mmm.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Yeah, because I kind of feel like…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Well, especially with coaching, and I, you know, I think any…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
any service where they are interacting with you directly.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 There has to be that.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
energetic connection and exchange, and my clients have to feel… they have to trust me in order to open up, because my clients tell me things that they wouldn't say to anybody else.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
That takes a lot of trust to do that.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
So, there's that added, kind of, like you said, that kind of extra layer of weaving, whereas I feel like if I had a product, I'm like, oh my god, that would be so easy to sell, because this is what you're going to actually get.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 And it's… what I find, and…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
I don't know if you see this with other people, I'm sure you do.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 is trying to…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 articulate to somebody the effects

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 of what they're gonna get.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
when it's not a tangible thing, like, it's not a website, it's not a copy, piece of copy, it's not a…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
you know, it's… and it's being… it's the skill of being able to articulate

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 fat.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Yeah. Oh, absolutely, and that's, I think… this… this shows up in loads of different ways as well, because…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Firstly, you have to…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
you have to be so aligned with what you're selling and feel so good about it,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
to be able to sell something intangible.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
it is trickier. You have to feel…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 100%.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 that they'll get the thing.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
And that's hard with intangible things, and that's hard with something like coaching, when you're like, well, you're over here,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
And I can't guarantee that you're not going to do the thing, or you are going to do the thing.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
So it's really tricky. So that's the thing that makes it easier, is spending time

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
figuring out, how can I take responsibility for everything that I can take responsibility for?

[Meg Roundell Greene]
So that I can show up in absolute integrity, knowing that if they do the thing,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Hmm.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
And I hold the space, and I'm, like, working on my side.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
they will get that. So I think that's the first… almost the first hurdle in explaining it.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 But then secondly,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
You have to make the intangible tangible, and that's the thing of, like, okay, I know it sounds intangible,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
having support, but this is what it looks like on any given day.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
give them examples, give them concrete, like, evidence. You know, you're at your desk on a…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yes.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
on a Wednesday, and your kids are going crazy, and they're shouting at you from the kitchen, and your brain's like,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
pride, but having support means you can, in that moment, you choose to do this.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Do you see what I mean? So it's like taking the really intangible things, especially with coaching, and making it very concrete, putting it almost into a kind of…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
a movie of themselves, so they can imagine, oh, in that moment, that's what…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 I could do.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Yeah. And I'm also curious to explore, for the women that aren't

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
that are listening, that aren't necessarily

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
selling a product or a service, but they might be selling themselves for a promotion.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
They might be going about to go and ask for a pay rise. Like, I think it's interesting, isn't it? Because when we say selling, we think we're…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
We have something to sell, but actually, if you're in an employed role that doesn't involve selling,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
We are actually always selling ourselves.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Anyway, because of, you know, if you want to have, you know, go from a promotion, or you want to…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
you know, get a pay rise. I mean, what's your view

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Around that.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Such a good question, and I… so I see it as… and I wish I'd… I wish I'd known this when I was employed, because I would have probably…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
done a lot better. I would have probably been promoted more, stayed longer, but as it was, I got to a point with my kids, and I was like, do you know what? This is not worth it. Like, this is not worth…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
the time and the effort, so I'm gonna start my business, but…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
this is what I've learned in creating a business, is that it's all about the exchange of value, and that's true whether you're creating it for clients in a business,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
or for your clients, who are you… the company that you employ… that employ you, right? So, if you know that it's just an equation,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Hmm…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
of how do I create more value for this person who is my client, my boss,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Hmm.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
they're still your client, so your job is to figure out what do they most value,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
How can I give that to them?

[Meg Roundell Greene]
That's it. If you showed up to your boss and you said, listen,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
I would like a pay rise of 50K in addition to what I'm being paid.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
What do you most value? How could I make that happen? What could I give you that would make that worth your while? Obviously, in different words, you wouldn't probably say it like that,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
But that's the way to think about it, because if you can create

[Meg Roundell Greene]
A million pounds of extra revenue, or save them cost savings of whatever.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 then it's a complete no-brainer for them. That's it. I don't think it's even about confidence, or presence, or…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
all the things that I see corporate women particularly being, sort of,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
coached on, almost like they're not good enough. I kind of hate that.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
I just think, get really good at understanding what's the value I'm bringing to this particular

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 boss, who needs…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
me to perform in a particular way, and how can I up that value as quickly as possible? Then you will get promoted, and you will get chosen, and you can ask for outrageous things.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Mmm.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
And you will… they will consider it.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Yeah. And it… so it kind of comes down to understanding for yourself,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
What do you want that's gonna enable you to really love?

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
doing, hopefully, what you love anyway, because if you're… I mean, if you're not in a job that you…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
you dislike them, you can change your job, but…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Like, it's… I think it's around…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
like, if I got paid this, or if I had this package,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
that would just make my… me really love my job.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
And then asking for it. Like, I think…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
I feel like we're not very good at asking for exactly what we want.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Whether that's…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
I think it's… I think it's the opposite way around, though. I think we think…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
that we'll be happy when we get that.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 But I don't think that that's…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yes.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
I don't think that's the thing. I think it's, like, we have to be really honest with ourselves and say,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
I'm gonna make… I'm gonna kind of give myself the challenge of loving what I have right now,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
And then make the… and then decide. But I think…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Equally to that, women are just underpaid and under-earned chronically. So there's… there's kind of two sides of the coin. I think, but only because we're not used to it, we're not told how to ask for it,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
We're not in rooms where it's… it feels comfortable to do that.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
And I do think it comes down to just a misunderstanding of

[Meg Roundell Greene]
you know, do your job, put your head down, be a good girl, don't make a bother, don't make a fuss.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
It's that kind of conditioning that stops you from asking, and it also stops you from seeing

[Meg Roundell Greene]
oh, this is the path to get ahead, because this is what the company

[Meg Roundell Greene]
values, and I'm going to go on that path. But first, you do really have to figure out, is this what…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
I want, because having an extra

[Meg Roundell Greene]
however much in your salary, or whatever,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
It's not going to change how you feel about your job, necessarily. It just means that you will feel the same way and be richer, which is always good. Like, I'm not saying that's a bad thing.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 But I do think we're just not…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Especially in the world of work now, it's so…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
different to, I think, 10 years ago, and I think…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
it's not just true that if you stick around long enough, you'll get what you deserve. I don't think that's ever been true, and I think we need to kind of break down

[Meg Roundell Greene]
story and give women, particularly, a different…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
perspective on it, and a different way of…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
of forging their own career, and give them more ownership back into it. And I do believe that learning how to sell yourself and just

[Meg Roundell Greene]
understand what people value is the path forward.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah, yeah, that's so true.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
So, do you think that the selling…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
is attached to the money mindset as well, then?

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Yeah, I think they're hand-in-hand, and I've had…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
I've had clients say to me,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
I… I want to do this, but I need to spend…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
some time on my money mindset.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Like, you need to do both at the same time. Like…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Hmm. Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
you… the best way to figure out what you think about money is to go out and sell.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Because the minute you put yourself actually in that situation, it's all gonna come up. That's what it's supposed to do. The minute you set a big money goal, it will all come up. So the best thing is…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yes. Yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
dive in, jump in and do the scary thing, and then, as long as you have

[Meg Roundell Greene]
the awareness that it's meant to be like this. It's meant to feel…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
uncomfortable, you're meant to feel a bit sick. That's all the stuff coming up.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
It's not a reason to stop. So you can do both.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 together, but I do find…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Um, we could spend years working on our inner growth and not make money. That's not what I want.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
for women business owners, I think we have to be really fearless in going for it and feeling all the…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
all the shit, can I swear?

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Yeah, uh, yes, this is a very…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Okay.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Usually, I have sworn by now, because I do have a bit of a possibility, yes! Don't said to yourself,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
I was thinking, oh, you could just edit this out, but it will sound weird. But, um, yeah, I think so.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
No, I don't do editing, no.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
What's been your, like, when you think about your…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
sales and money mindset, like, what's the thing that you've had to work hardest on, I guess? Because you mentioned your mum kind of being like, oh, they're rich, or you don't want to…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
do selling? Like, what's the be… what's the thing that's, like, stuck for you that you've had to work the hardest on?

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah, and actually, I…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
uh, 3 days ago, I recorded my own meditation in my own voice to

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
to talk through this and release them, because there are two that, um, really… well, actually, I think it just really boils down to one, and that's that…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
I shouldn't charge to help people.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Oh, okay, yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
And even… even recently, my dad, uh, we needed to…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 pay a solicitor for something.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
power of attorney, or whatever it was. And my dad was like,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
That's ridiculous, isn't it? That they're charging you to do that.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
And I'm like, it's a fucking solicitor, Dad!

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 That's amazing.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Like, and then I said to him, do you realize that that comment is why I have to do

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
So you've got shitty work over… overcoming my mind, because I've grown up hearing people shouldn't charge.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
People shouldn't… people shouldn't make money.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Mmm…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Yeah, yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
And then they said, literally last week, I was driving them to the airport, and I was saying about my friend who's really helping them,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Oh, yeah, but she's only doing it because she gets paid.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Why should the fuck shouldn't she get paid?

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 I'm like… so I… so that's… that's my… one of my biggest things is…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 I shouldn't get paid, or I shouldn't charge,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
for my services. I should somehow want to do it

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Yeah, out of the goodness of your heart. Yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Yeah, and I'm just like, how do you think people then pay bills?

[Meg Roundell Greene]
This is so… it's so insidious. It's so… and it's so accepted. It's so normalized that it's like, oh, if you're doing good things, it should be for free.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah. Yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Hmm.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Especially of women. I don't think that there's any men walking around being told, you should probably do that for free.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 No. Well, and…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
So, I'm always, like, on the lookout for that.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Yeah. And then there's this counteractive

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
sentence that we get given of, oh, he earns a lot of money, he must be powerful, and you're like, well, what is it?

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
money is power, or we shouldn't charge, like… like…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
There seems to be this real kind of conflict.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Yeah. Yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 In society.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
And I think the best thing that we can do is just…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Stop listening. Tune out of all of it,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
And then come back to what is true, which is you deserve to make good money,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
for the services that you offer.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
And then it's just a… it's just an equation in my mind. It's just a formula if I want to make more money, I've got to learn how to create more value.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah, yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
That's it. And anything else that's not

[Meg Roundell Greene]
coming into that is not relevant, because when you… it's… it's a beautiful thing, making money is the most beautiful thing, because it means you've created something out of nothing.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
And given value to somebody else.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
So, in my mind, it's like the most regenerative

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 incredible path.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Because if you're gonna…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
become incredibly rich, and I say that word on purpose, because people have a reaction to the word rich, like your parents. Like, oh, they're rich. Like, it's a bad thing. Oh!

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Oh, we've got your cat.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
So if you're watching on YouTube, you'll be able to see the cat that's just jumped behind Meg's head.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 That's brilliant. Oh, hi, Griswold!

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Is that Mog? Megan Mog.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 I love that.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 But yeah…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Back to my childhood days, sorry, totally distracted there.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Uh, I'm…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
But yeah, it is this kind of, like, we need to untangle it, and we need to see it for what it is, which is just…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
not true, and not helpful, and the sooner you can see, it's like, okay, I could spend a lot of time on this,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
or I also have the option to just…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Let it go. Just let it go, and just decide something new that makes me feel amazing about going out and giving value to people, and offering it really freely and really generously. And then some people will pay me,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Some people weren't beautiful.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah, yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Yeah, that's so true. And there's two things that make me really passionate about.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
overcoming myself to become rich, because

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
I have a deep desire to make a fuckton of money, and for two reasons. One, because I want my boys to grow up in a world where women can do that, if she chooses to. I'm not saying that's what every woman should do.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Oh, good.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
But if a woman chooses to go out and make money, she can.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Um, I also want them to grow up in a world where emotions

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
for men are safe, and so that starts with me and my view of the world.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
But also, the reason I want to make money is I love…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
The idea of giving back. So, if I make money, I can pay my cleaner.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
My cleaner then makes money. She can go out for a meal. Then that restaurant makes money. And they can hire staff, and those staff make money, and then they can go out and buy stuff, and then the shop makes money, they hire people, so…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Or even…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
you know, giving to my favourite charity.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 And I heard, um…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 some stats the other day.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 When women…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
make money, they will actually give away about 90% of what they earn,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
to something. And normally, that's community-based

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
charities, like community… so when women make money, because we

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 give, we enhance

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 everything around us.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Men, on the other hand, generally only give away about 30-40% of what they earn.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
So, and that's not a judgment, but then it just makes you realize that actually, if more women

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 stepped into wealth,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Our world…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
would just be higher because it raised up because of everybody benefits.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 And I love that idea!

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Absolutely. And I think that there is such…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
power in seeing it that way, and seeing that, like, oh, money is this kind of…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
It is regenerative. It's not finite, and I know, obviously, I'm not an…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
an economics professor, I can't even say the word, you can clearly, clearly tell that I'm not an economy professor.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
I don't know anything about it.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 But, truly,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
if you're creating something brand new out of your brain that didn't exist in the world before,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
That's generative. You get paid for that. You are adding more to the world

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
than you're ever taking away, and absolutely, if more women doing good things make a fuck-ton of money, like you said, I love that phrase,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
then everything improves, and also we're improving. We're paving the path

[Meg Roundell Greene]
for, I know we don't have daughters, but maybe our sons will have daughters. They're gonna have wives and girlfriends, they're gonna have kids, you know, they're going to have…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
grandkids, and seeing this very powerful, yet strong and soft

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 modeling of creating big money

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Without apology, without guilt, without the need to then

[Meg Roundell Greene]
to then give it away because it's expected

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Mmm.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
But just for the sake of it, as well. So I love both of those. I love modeling it for our

[Meg Roundell Greene]
future grandkids and whoever, but also, let's normalize the conversation about wanting it because we want it.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Why are men never asked how much money would you like to make, and why do you want to make that much? Never. I had a conversation with my brother

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Last year, and we were talking about this, and I was saying how much money I'd made in my business, and what my goal was, and he looked at me like I was

[Meg Roundell Greene]
absolutely batshit crazy, and he said,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Why do you want to make that? And I was like, how much money do you make? And he told me. And I was like, how much would you like to make? And he told me, and I was like,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
What's the difference? And he couldn't even see it. He couldn't even see.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah, so interesting.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
The filter that he'd applied, because I'm his sister, because I'm younger, because I'm a woman, because I've got kids, and we need to really start questioning all of this, because all of it's nonsense.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Women are highly accomplished. We need to lift the lid off of our capabilities and really start understanding the power that we have

[Meg Roundell Greene]
When we stop believing the stuff we've been told and taught, and that is incredibly powerful. So if you can help

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Your clients do that, and reclaim some of that, and I'm helping my clients do that, and they're hopefully doing all of the other things in the world. That's how we do… that's how we change.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Businesses are a huge catalyst for change. I think much more so than policy, much more so than government. It gives you a very strong voice, so…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Oh, I love that. And it's interesting, because I… I… I don't just want to make money,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Let's go.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
I want to make money in a way that enhances the work. Like, if I just wanted to make money, I would buy really cheap sweets,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Stand outside the school playground! Like, you know, as the school's coming out, and I would sell them expensive to the kids.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
I don't want to make money doing that, that's shit! But, you know, or I would go into drug dealing. I don't want to make money just for making money. I want to make money in a way that enhances the world.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Yeah. Yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
And I think that is so…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 feels so good to me.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
What I realized earlier, I had a bit of a revelation, and when you have a revelation, I always then think, Nikki, you've known this for ages, but it just hadn't quite landed.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 If, um…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
There's a real identity attached to this as well, so…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
The last couple of days, um, I've been

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
busy in my business, as in, I've been out the house networking. Yesterday, I was back-to-back coaching my clients. Today, I'm back-to-back coaching my clients. Love it.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
And I got to last night, and my son said, oh, mum,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Have I got a shirt for tomorrow? And I was like, oh my god, I hadn't even considered that I haven't done any washing for two days.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
No, you don't… you don't have a shirt for tomorrow.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
And so, luckily, I put it on a quick wash. They're light and they dry really quickly, so we had a shirt for this morning.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
But I woke up this morning, and I had this kind of, right, I've got to get going, I've got to

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
you know, I've got a client at 9 o'clock, and I need to do the washing, and I was like,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Whoa. If I'm making…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 a fuckton of money.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Mm-hmm.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Who's doing my washing? It's not necessarily all on me. I have a husband downstairs, very capable. His diary is not full today. Why isn't he doing the washing?

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
And I had this moment of going,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Ooh, my future self isn't the one responsible for the house.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Mm-hmm.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 And…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 There's a real…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Ah, I love the word discombobulated.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
I couldn't spell it, but I love the word.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Like, economics!

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 You know, there's this?

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
There's this, like, oh my god, hang on a minute, this… this person I was…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
who did all of that, and is very capable still of doing all of that.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 And then there's this birth…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
that just doesn't want to anymore.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
I don't need to do that anymore. I can delegate! I could… and I actually sat here and went, hang on a minute, what does my…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
What would my future self do? If I'm the earning

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 more money than my husband.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
What… what… how do I act? How do I behave? She's not doing the washing.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Every day. Maybe she does occasionally, but not every day. And I was like, right,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Johnny, I need you to put a load of washing on today, dark wash, please.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 I don't think he's actually done it. I think the pile is…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
You're like, I know, in your mind, you're like, that's not happened. That's amazing.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
But I had to take out, because I'm in my bedroom today, because we're both working, but… so I took out what I needed, and I said, I plonked it on, but sort out the rest. I've given it to you. I don't think it's done. But that's my discomfort to now sit into, and I'm already thinking, okay,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
When my boys come home and say, nip mum,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Have you done the washing? I'm gonna go, no, because I gave that to Dad. Or you could do it yourself, because you're very capable.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
And that's going back to the identity shift, isn't it? Of being the, you know,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 I just had this massive…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Yeah, revelation today that I was like, hang on a minute.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 The person that is actually

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
a really powerful business model. Not that I…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
So this is something we haven't quite touched on, that you've said a couple of times now.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 You… you get money

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
back when you put value out.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
That's very different to working lots of hours.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Yes. Yes, absolutely.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
And let's have a conversation about that, then, because I think people think if I just put in more work,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
And then they see, like, just tapping at their laptop, mindlessly looking at their inbox is going to make them money. That doesn't make money.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Mmm… yep.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Yeah. No.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
What do you think about that?

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Yeah, let's talk about that. Yes, so…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 for me, it's about how…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
How can you… it's all about leverage. It's about what's the highest leverage

[Meg Roundell Greene]
action, fought not for me, for my client.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
When you think in the mind of your client, the person you're delivering value for, or your employer, so, like, employed or in business,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
It's like, what is the highest impact thing that I can spend time on? What do they most want?

[Meg Roundell Greene]
What do they need? What's the thing that's going to help them the most?

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Because when you can figure out how to give them help before they pay you,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
obviously different if you're employed, because they're already paying you, sweet, so you can just get paid what you being paid, and then provide more, get more value and get paid more. But if you can give them so much value before they pay you,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
By figuring out what is the thing that they most need, and

[Meg Roundell Greene]
How can I deliver the highest impact? Most often,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
That is not through social media posts. The amount of impact through a social media post is probably the lowest.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
impact that you will have, let's be honest. They might read it for 3 seconds, scroll on.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
So it's just being really smart with your time, especially as working mums.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
I finish work at 3 every single day. My week is basically 10 till 3.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Mondays through Fridays. Um, so I've got to be really conscious of my time. If it's not

[Meg Roundell Greene]
coaching, you know, doing something like this, I have to make sure I'm doing high-impact actions, and it's so easy to get sucked into just doing for doing's sake.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
And stop, you have to stop yourself and realize, okay, what am I speaking to people? Am I delivering

[Meg Roundell Greene]
a message that's helped somebody today. If you can say that every single day,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
you're onto a winner. That's creating high value.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Yeah. Yeah, that's so good. Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 such a good question.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 So we've talked about mindset.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Tell me… let's talk a little bit more about the actual strategy and the actions and the doing. I mean, you've just pointed it out there that

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
you know, really focusing on that really high-value comment from what your client needs to hear perspective, not what we need to hear.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Um, tell me, is there…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
then… I, I mean, I heavily believe that it's all about mindset and emotions.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
And then the actions follow, and there's very definite, right, these are some of the things you absolutely need to do. So,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
For the people listening, is there…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
like, 3 things that you think are, like, the foundation of selling, or, you know, some… something around…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
the actual action of selling versus the mindset of it.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Yes, definitely. So it's gonna sound really simple and really obvious, and you'll be like, well, I could have just…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
told you that, but it's essentially…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
I know, but we need to hear it.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Having interactions…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
one-on-one, or with lots of people, having conversations that give you an opportunity for people to learn more.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
That's it. Number one, if you're not doing that, that's where to start. People will tell me, they've been like, I've been posting on social media steadily for five posts a week for three months, and I'm like, how many

[Meg Roundell Greene]
One-on-one interactions are you having in person or online, it doesn't matter, but you need to be having

[Meg Roundell Greene]
real conversations with people, so they have a chance to experience what it's like to hear about your business,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
to know you. That's it. So, conversations,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
invitations is the next one. So when you're having conversations,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
What is the next thing that you would love to invite somebody to do so they can get more?

[Meg Roundell Greene]
That's it. If you have lots of conversations, and you're making invitations to the next thing,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Hmm…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
you will just be building, naturally, a pipeline of interested, warm,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
buyers. People miss this. They spend time going like, oh, lead magnets and funnels, and I've got to have a thousand new leads a week. I'm like, you could literally make a six-figure business.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
with an audience of 500 people.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
But you're not spending the time and the effort and the energy to build

[Meg Roundell Greene]
those true connections and deliver high value to those… that small amount of people. So you think, oh, I'm going to deliver a lot of value,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
to 5,000 people takes a lot longer.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
So let's just, like, really concentrate it down. Then the last thing is…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Just in a sales interaction,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Basically, calming yourself down. You talked about mindset and, um, emotions.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
It really is that. If you can manage your mind and be present and

[Meg Roundell Greene]
feel connected to them, and be on their side for what they want.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
you can sell. Like, the structure of it is far less important than

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
just being on their side, knowing you're delivering value, and what they get is so much more value than what they are paying you.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
that's important. If you come in and do all this money mindset work, and you're like, I'm gonna sell something for 10 grand,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
but you haven't increased the value of what you're selling,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
it's gonna be so hard for you to sell, because in the back of your mind, you'll be like,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Are they getting 10 grand's worth? This feels difficult. You won't be able to do it.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
So it really is that internal work of, how can I make sure I'm absolutely rock solid, that when they pay me this amount of money,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
they're gonna get at least 3 times, 5 times, 10 times more on their end.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah, yeah, that's so good.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
And I… I often think people get confused around the difference between coaching, mentoring, and…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
therapies. And so, generally, the way that I describe it is that coaching is exploring your own wisdom, and you're coming up with your own answers through questioning and…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
and challenging. And then mentoring is more about…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
I've done it, this is how…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
I would invite you to try to do it. So it's a bit more directive and a bit more…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Yeah. Hmm.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 more telling, rather than coaching.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
And it seems like when you work with your clients, you do both. Do you want to tell us a bit more about how you work with your clients?

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Yeah, it is both, really, because I've been that client in the AU program, where I

[Meg Roundell Greene]
I just have a question. I just would love you to tell me the answer. You know what I mean? When you're just like, please, like, I don't have this knowledge. Sometimes we just don't know the knowledge. So, we could try a bunch of things and have a coach say, well, just go test and learn and come back in

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yes.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
six weeks, or the coach could be like, do you know what?

[Meg Roundell Greene]
try this. So I really want to be quite practical in that sense as well. Um, so when I work with my clients, it is very much

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Hmm.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Let's figure out all the things that are stopping you now, because we could pile strategy on top of that, and they still wouldn't work.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yes.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Because that's still gonna pop up with objections, or saying the price, or whatever it is. So what's been stopping you so far? Let's untangle that super quick.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
a lot of the time, it's… it's really bound up in price.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Because there is just not that, I guess, from our conversation, they just don't have the understanding of how to increase

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 value, and how to communicate

[Meg Roundell Greene]
the value. So we spent a lot of time on that, um, so they feel really confident with the price.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Um, and then just all the way along, like, let's build it up so you can sell more, so you can show up more, and so you can…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 impact more people. Um…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 But I really do think it's a… it's a gift when you…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
when you learn how to do this, and my favorite thing is seeing clients

[Meg Roundell Greene]
just kind of have this realization of, like, oh my goodness, it was so simple. Like, what's been happening? Why has it been so difficult? Because it really is those three things. It's just all your brain chatter,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yes.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
makes it so hard, and the minute we can clear that up, and you can just take the really simple actions, and then get paid,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
And be like, great, I can do that again.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
So it's just, yeah, that's how it goes.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
And I know you're gonna tell me every single person is different,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Every single business is different. But is there… do you have, like,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
one go-to, like, sales thing that you just… is your favorite thing for people to do?

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Well, in terms of, like, an exercise or a strategy,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Either.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Oh, so my favorite thing is helping them with the price they can sell, because everyone… and this will be different for everybody, but

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
That price, when you're like, oh my goodness, this is a complete no-brainer, but it also means I'm well-paid,

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Hmm…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
So it's got to be… you're not resentful about it, you're not saying the price and being like, crap, like, I wish it was 10 times more. You're like, oh, this is the price that

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
feels good, and I know I can go out and sell today. The minute you get…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
that, and you're lined up with that, and you start making money with that price, that's the catalyst, because that gives you so much confidence to be like,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Oh, great! I could do that again.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
And that is… it's just the quickest win, so that's where I start with all of my clients, which is really fun.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Uh, that's good. That's lovely.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 So, is…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Is there anything that we haven't talked about that you think is relevant?

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 to this topic.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Oh my god, I mean, Nikki, there's so many things!

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
We can, like, chat for ages!

[Meg Roundell Greene]
We don't have long enough. Um, I think…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
The most important thing for me is just

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Going back to that thing of, like, what you've been told is not true, what the thoughts that you're having about it are not true. Are they helping you to get in front of people and

[Meg Roundell Greene]
and be powerful, or are they making you shrink? And if you just asked yourself that question every day,

[Meg Roundell Greene]
you would clear up so much stuff. So I think that's…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
That's the thing that I would really love to leave people with.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah. Thank you so much.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
And we're gonna put all of Meg's details in the show notes below, so you can

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
follow her, get in touch with her. You've got a group!

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Oh, yes, I do!

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 program starting, haven't you? Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Yeah, it's actually starting on Monday, so I don't know when this is coming out, but yes, it's a 6-month…

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Um, group coaching to go through those three

[Meg Roundell Greene]
kind of those three elements, like mindset, and then connecting and having conversations, and making invitations. We're going to do those three things.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
Um, and I'm going to be relaunching in September in 2026 as well.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Nice. Okay. Uh, yeah, when is this gonna come out? It won't be, uh, this week's is already scheduled.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Um, and then I think it's my 100th episode, and I feel like I should do something special for that on the podcast.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
So it'll be in a couple of weeks. So we… by the time you're listening to this, everybody, you probably have missed that first round, but you're going to be doing it again later in the year, aren't you?

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Yay

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Yes, yeah, in September, yeah.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Yeah. Okay, perfect.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Yeah. Thank you.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
Thank you so much for coming to talk to me. It's been… it's been really refreshing to talk to another working mum who

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
you know, is doing this work around

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
selling and financial wealth, and really encouraging other people to do the same, so…

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
It's… it's just been my absolute pleasure to talk to you about it.

[Meg Roundell Greene]
 Thank you so much. Same.

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
You are very welcome, and everybody else, I will see you next week!

[Nicky Bevan, The Working Womens Life Coach]
 Buh-bye!
