Hello, and welcome back to I am well podcast. You may be thinking, What happened to Mindset Mondays? Where was that episode? Well, I have an update, guys. Things are changing once again. And this is what I'm going to base today's topic around. The concept of change and being okay with change.
I've just got so much to tell you. Okay, where do I begin? [00:01:00] Well, first things first. I want to bring you back to a concept of balance and what it means. Creating balance in your life, creating balance with your hormones, your gut health, feeling balance overall. And what I mean, I feel like the word balance gets thrown around a lot.
And I love using that word for my programs, but I just want to come back to like, okay, what do we mean balance? I don't mean just pretending that you have balance. I don't mean trying to do it all. And going, how am I coping right now? I don't mean telling people how to be balanced. I mean actually living it.
And what that is being okay with change. Being okay when things don't go to plan as well. So, I do want to let you guys know, My three months program balance at the moment is now a self paced program because I'm going to explain everything my [00:02:00] life is has changed. But everything that I taught my amazing clients in last year's round of balance, you guys are pretty much getting, you're getting all the modules, you're getting all the tools and it's at such a lower price.

And then when I took my clients through it, I adjusted it because I realized there was other things that needed to be added for things that work for other people.

A shift will happen, but you have to do the program properly. I don't want anyone buying the program and not going through it because I know that happens.
And that's why we have the mindset shift at the part [00:03:00] at the first part of the program to help prevent that. Go through the program and do it all and I promise you things will change if they don't come back to me and we'll see why. Okay. So things have, things have changed.
I have literally just finished my hormone functional hormone specialist course. So that's one thing out the door, out the way, doing all things, Dutch tests, hormone tests, and working, with different clients tests and analyzing them was. It's amazing and just going to further enhance my one to one coaching with you all.
So that's finally done. Yay. Over and done with. But I've also, guys, I just got a new job. On top of this business I am creating, I have got, I'm going to call this job my side hustle guys. Okay. I've got a side hustle and this job was one because it just aligned [00:04:00] with everything I believe in and everything I do.
I want to be able to give my kids. It's everything that I want in five years time. I want to be able to give them now. And I felt like, okay, I need to find a job that can help cashflow. I'm going to be like real with you guys.
This is where I had to use a lot of the mindset tools for myself because I hit such a big low in December. I think I told you all a little bit about it in the earlier episodes of this year. I was going through an emotional rollercoaster. I was starting to go back to, Oh my God, am I going to go back to the depression I used to have two years ago?
And you know what it was for me? And I bet it's a lot for a lot of people. It was finances. I know I talked about this actually in one of my podcast episodes, it was finances because. I didn't make what I wanted to make in my business last year. I didn't make what we wanted to like envision that we'd [00:05:00] have by the end of the year.
And I got so down on myself because I am a person that's like a high achiever. Like I'm a person that's I need to have all this done and I have high expectations of myself. And I literally did every, I did, I had three coaches last year, I did everything I possibly could. And that's the problem.
With me, with my, I've had people on here teach human design, and I really love that, but with my human design, I'm a, generator, so I literally just keep going, but I'm also like a person that I, my subconscious block is I need to always pile things up on my plate. I need to be doing a lot. Otherwise, It's like, I'm not doing enough.
And that's the complete opposite in business that you want to be at. You don't want to be burnt out before you're you've [00:06:00] even taken off. And I was burnt out before I'd even taken off. And no one shares this stuff with you. Like no one's going to share in their business when, especially when they're in such the early phase that they didn't hit the goals that they wanted because.
It's like a self esteem thing, but I am so grateful for the listeners that are on here. And I really appreciate you guys that you tune in each week and you listen to me and you hear the things that I'm giving you and you're trying out the tools. I've had messages where people have said, Oh my God, like it's helped me so much.
I finally lost that stubborn weight. And I'm like, that's. Amazing and I am so grateful. I'm literally tearing up. I'm so grateful for that, that that is what makes me keep going because that's the reason I did this in the first place. I created this business because I was trying to find a way to help me heal, me heal, to help myself heal with my mindset, with [00:07:00] my health and You know, go back to the other episodes where you'll hear my story on endometriosis and Hashimoto's and all the stuff that I was pretty much manifesting in my body because I was wanting to pick something.
I wanted to choose something as the reason why my life isn't the way it was. So anyway, why am I telling you all of this? Well, that's where I was at end of last year. And started this year, I literally got to a point where I was going back to trying to find something to blame it on. And I, this is the biggest mind shi mind shi I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say that.
This is the biggest mind shift that I want to share with you guys. And I really want you to take on board because if you're in a place right now, where you're thinking that I'm not where I wanted to be. I'm, you're, you're having all this negative self talk. You're [00:08:00] in a place where you're feeling really low and trapped.
And you don't know what your purpose is. You're scared because you have no idea what's your purpose. This is what helped me, okay? I was in that place. January, come January, I was going in and out of it. I was definitely in denial. And it wasn't till I, I'm always reading self help books, but literally I've talked to you guys about it.
I read the book, Self Help by Gabby Bernstein. And then I, after that, I read another book on business. I can't remember what it was, but it was also about going back to these thoughts and these triggers within you. And I thought I'm not ever going to grow in my business if I don't just. Just take time out, just stop and figure out what is it that's going on?
Why do I keep putting myself in positions where I'm burning [00:09:00] myself out, where I'm doing too much? What is it that I truly want? And Just, asking all the why questions. Just keep asking why, why, why, what, what, like what, what is this? Why is this happening? Why am I thinking like this? And we never want to do that because it's uncomfortable.
I don't want to question why I didn't achieve what I wanted to achieve last year. Because it makes me feel like crap. It makes me feel like I wasn't good enough. But it wasn't till , I kinda had a mental breakdown, I think. It was like December, I had a mental breakdown. Well, I had a mental breakdown December.
But it wasn't till after that, that I was like, This is such a minuscule problem in the scheme of things. And this is gonna sound like so corny. But my husband and I, every night, we take our dog out for a walk out night [00:10:00] and we look up into the sky and it is so still here, I live in Queensland, Australia.
It's beautiful weather, so still. And that night we just looked up and you could see the moon and it was like clear as day. And we were like, that is insane. And I know you guys have probably had these. This is insane. We are sitting on a, on earth, on a planet is out in space that we still don't know enough about.
There are other galaxies. We are just a part of one galaxy. There are many more galaxies out there. There's areas of space that we have. We don't even know. We literally do not know what's out there. And it makes you, feel so small. Not small as in a way, like not good enough, but like small as in like, we're just.[00:11:00]
So lucky to be here and how does this work? How can I see the moon right now? There was another night where we were walking on one side. We saw the moon the other side We saw the Sun go down and I was going how right now, how can we see the moon? And see the sun when I think our brains literally can't comprehend space.
It literally just cannot because it is so much bigger than us. And that just literally puts everything into perspective. And every time things feel too much, I just want to go out and look at the moon or look at the clouds, try and find where the sun is. Because it puts everything into perspective. I'm so lucky to be here and my problems are so minuscule.
So anyway, after that, I went back to the work that I teach my clients, which is [00:12:00] literally, the mindset work. That is the biggest thing. That is why I put the mindset work at the start of all my programs. That's why I created Mindset Mondays for my podcast, because I'm so passionate about nutrition.
I know there's so much work to be done there, especially around women's hormones. But the mind, like that's where it all begins. It doesn't matter. Whatever I teach you is just crap if you don't have that strength. mindset to help keep you going. I started doing those practices, not because it was a thing of something to tick off the list, not like a morning routine where I was ticking it off in the mornings because I was like, I want to find myself.
I want to find myself again. What is it? Why do I keep doing this to myself where I pile things up on top of another and I keep creating this huge to do list? Why do I keep saying yes to everyone? Why don't I set boundaries? And It all comes back to [00:13:00] self confidence. Self confidence. And so many people see what I do, how I post online and how I do a podcast and all that.
And I think that, A lot, some people are really, they're very clued on and they can see through it and other people like look at it and go, Oh, she's so confident I could never do something like that, but you really don't know how, what someone is actually going through. And me doing all this is actually a way.
To try to prove something to myself. I was trying to feel good enough and so many people do this, right? We do so much and we put so much on our plates because we're looking for something for someone to show us or to tell us that we're good enough and I need to stop looking for external Circumstances to tell me that I'm good enough and I need to start believing that [00:14:00] I'm good enough.
You need to stop Look looking for someone else to tell you they're proud of you Stop doing things for someone else to give you a pat on the back to give you a clap Believe you're good enough in yourself. I'm saying this because I know without a doubt you guys would feel this too We all feel this it's human.
It's such a human experience. So yeah, then turns out I applied for this one job, which is crazy. This job I actually applied for last year and it was, they needed someone who had knowledge in nutrition, who had worked as, worked as a receptionist before. Also knew, had knowledge around skin. So that's me as well.
Like I've been in skin therapy, and was passionate about. Health and holistic well being and I was like, oh my god, this is me to a tee. I applied for this job last year didn't [00:15:00] get it, but I wasn't in a mindset that I really wanted it I saw it go again at the start of this year and I was like, oh my god I need to tell them I want this is the job for me.
This is, if I have to go get a job right now to get in some extra cash for the family, this is the job that I wanted. So I applied for it. And I, this time I sent them an email and I stated like how I tried. I actually was real and honest with them and said, I tried to apply for this last year. I didn't get it.
But I believe that. This is a sign. I'm literally perfect for this position. And this is the reasons why they literally called me the day that I emailed. I went in the next day for an interview. I then went in the next week for a job trial. And that day that I did the job trial, I got the job. And the job is literally perfect.
It is perfect. I am working with doctors who believe that diagnosing and treating isn't enough. We also need to work, with the [00:16:00] inside of the body, the emotional part of the body. They do emotional programs there to help with your mindset. And they have all these modalities and different machineries to help with, other to help with holistic things that are going on inside, not just.
Giving you some medication and off you go. There's people who have Cancer that are coming in and doing these treatments for six weeks and they're walking out with no cancer anymore There's people there's they showed me these brain scans of someone who comes in the brain scan was like really stressed And then they lie down on the waterbed for an hour and then they do the brain scans again And literally the stress is gone their biological age before they laid down on it was like And I think they're 60 years old and their biological age when they came off was like 40 something.
That is incredible. This place everyone is empowering each other. Like this is the stuff that, and they, all they want to do is just help people [00:17:00] with their health, but in ways that empowers people and in ways that gets to the root cause. And I was like, Oh my God, this is for me. This is my perfect job.
And that just felt That was the universe trying to get me to see that. And sometimes when we get so in our issues, and we're just, so hard on ourselves, and so down on ourselves, we only see this one path. We just see straight ahead. And we're not seeing all these other opportunities around us.
So if I didn't give in to saying, Hey, like, it's okay, you know. It's okay that I'm going to get another job, this is an amazing opportunity, and it's not the end of the world, it's such a, this is normal, everyone does this is such a minuscule thing, and this is just to help my business grow. If that thought didn't come to me, I would never have looked at the job applications online and seen that job [00:18:00] going.
And that was the universe telling me to stop getting in my own head and in my own way and start looking around me, start having my eyes wide open. So anyway, that was a long story to just pretty much say I'm also now working. So I'm working Wednesdays. Oh, you don't need to know my timetables. That's so funny.
Sometimes I think you guys, like, I'm actually talking to someone face to face and we're just like friends. I completely forget that this is actually a podcast. But yeah, I'm working only three days a week now. I do still have time for my one to one clients, which is incredible. I'm so happy with that.
But it's also why I've turned Balance into a self paced program, and then if we have enough clients on a wait list, then we'll So I'm going to start running balance as a group program again, but at the moment I'm just working with one to [00:19:00] one clients and.
Follow along for my journey. Like I'm still going to be updating on the podcast. So now instead of mindset Mondays and wellness Wednesdays, I'm transitioning into one podcast episode a week. Cause that's what I can manage. I also have two kids and I want to be present with them and I want this. This is the whole idea of this episode today.
I know it's a bit wishy washy and we're all over the place, but the point of this episode was to be real and honest with you guys of what I'm going through because. You don't tend to hear that from a coach that's trying to sell themselves to help you. You don't really hear that they're going through it, but anyone that has a business is going through similar things like this, because when they say it time and time again, when you have a business, it's like a self development program in itself.
And me learning this stuff is just going to help you guys more as well. What I, yeah, what I wanted to say though, is that don't ever be afraid of [00:20:00] change, okay? Changes can be bloody scary, but it's the best thing. If you are scared, you're in the right place. Amazing things are about to happen for you if you are scared.
The last time I've actually worked for someone else was like seven, seven years ago, I think, seven or eight years ago, because the last years When I did work, I worked at, it was in a family business. So we owned a salon. I was a skin therapist and we owned a salon together.
I have not worked for someone in so long. It was so shit scary to go and work for someone again. I felt like I had to prove myself. That's why last week was an insane emotional week for me because I felt. Like I was working, I had to please these people cause I was so scared that I was going to be fired, which is an insane thought in itself.
Can we all go back to our thoughts and remember what they're telling us? Because what you think. They're going to fire me after [00:21:00] I've just had a trial day and I'm just getting and just learning No one does that like it's so funny how our brains are and Me I teach this and I I burnt myself out last week I became so tired because I was so worried about being the best for Obviously, you can tell I'm very passionate about the job and I love the job and I'm very grateful I work there.
But I was also scared. I was scared of change. I started thinking other thoughts that were so unrealistic, I thought what am I going to do about the podcast? I'm not gonna be able to, keep up with the podcast and do two episodes a week and I'm like Gemma, that's fine. Like you own the podcast.
You can do it. You can create whatever you want to create. You want to do an episode a week, do an episode a week. You want to do an episode every fortnight, do an episode every fortnight. That is fine. You own it. You get to make the rules and [00:22:00] then, there's the other thoughts where it's like, Oh, but then no one's going to listen anymore.
And it's like you, if you believe that's, what's going to happen. So if you're worried right now, like about anything in your life, I really want you to think hard about it. If you're worried, about taking a second job because you need some more income for the family or something like that. And then you're like, Oh, but then I'm not going to have enough time for the family and stuff.
You can create it. You. Can create the life that you want or have or work it out the way that you want to you can do it If you believe in it, but if you start thinking like I'm not going to have any time with the family That's what's going to happen. And that's what I needed to remind myself And it was so i'm only working literally three days a week.
It's crazy that these thoughts are coming in But it was it's because My brain's not used to this. It's not used to this way of living. I sound so privileged right now. I hope you guys are understanding the concept of this episode. I'm not trying to be [00:23:00] like, Oh my God, I've never worked. I worked.
I've just, I, when you have such an idea, like you really want, you have it, you put your heart and soul and all your money into a business and it doesn't work out the way that you want to. It can sometimes feel like you've failed, but I just want to say to you now, if you're going through that as well, Or you've been through that.
You haven't failed. It's going to work. You just have to go down a different route. You have to try it a different way. And that's fine. That's the universe telling you that this isn't the way to do it. This is the way to do it. And as I said, every, all these crazy thoughts that I've had, Oh, me worrying about the most minuscule thing is insane considering we are so lucky to be here.
I literally look out and go, the moon is out there. That's insane. That's incredible. Gemma, put yourself together. You've got an amazing life. And. I'm so grateful for this. Anyway, don't be afraid of change. Change [00:24:00] is this change that I'm going through right now is incredible. And I thought, fuck it. I'm just going to come on here and be vulnerable and tell you exactly what I'm going through, because that's the kind of podcast and the kind of business I want to create.
And I'm so early on still, like it's only my second year of creating I am well hub. I was like, I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna come on here and pretend that, oh yeah, I just got this, I just went and got this job because. Because I wanted to, not because I had to with money and stuff. No, to be honest, I wouldn't have gone for the job if we didn't need the money.
Like obviously I want the money and I'm going to be open and honest with you because that's who, that's the foundations of this business. That's who I want to be. I want it to be authentic and I want it to be real. And I want it to be like, guys, I go through what you go through. That's why I created this.
That's why I created, I am well, I don't know if you guys know this, but I created, I am well off a meditation. I was in a meditation. And I was trying to figure out what I wanted. This was back when we [00:25:00] lived in Melbourne and I knew I wanted to run a business. I didn't know what I wanted to be. I had just gone through like this spiritual journey and I was healing myself with my mindset tools and nutrition.
And I was like, what am I going to do? And I sat there and I just went through this meditation. It was like a self guided one through, Gabby Bernstein. And instantly I knew I was like, I am well, I just saw, I am well, and I saw a shop front and it said, I am well. And then I had one day, like I am healthy, I am fit, I am fun, I am happy.
And I was like, I'm grateful. All these I ams were coming through and I was like, Oh my God, I want my business to be called I am well, because eventually when it becomes something that is in a physical space or something like that. When you walk or when you say where you're going, you have to say, I am well, I'm going to, I am well.
And over, it's like an affirmation that you get forced to say, cause that's [00:26:00] literally what the business is called. You get my journals, they're called, I am well, you get my habit tracker and you're going, yeah, I'm riding in my habit tracker to keep track of my habits in I am well, because it forces you to say, I am well, and maybe you don't feel like it, but your brain doesn't know the difference.
And after time you keep saying it you're like, Oh my God, I am well. I am good. I am grateful. I am happy. I am healthy. I am fit. I've got this. I've got me. And we're going to smash this. So a bit of a ramble jamble episode, but I hope that by me sharing my story, it gives you motivation to be like, you can do anything you want and never be scared of change.
Change is incredible. And if you actually be scared of change, because if you are scared, that means you're on the right path. If you're like feeling like a shit, I don't know if I'm doing the right thing or I'm scared to do this, but I feel like I didn't want to do it or I need to do it, [00:27:00] but I'm really nervous.
You are in the right position. Keep going. You're about to have the biggest breakthrough and I'm so excited for you. So to wrap it all up from today, don't be scared of change. You've got this. Never be ashamed of yourself. Always love yourself and just bloody keep going. Just keep going. You're doing an amazing job and I believe in myself and if I believe in myself, I believe in you.
