Speaker 3:Welcome to the Balance Hormone Solution Podcast. If you're a woman 35 plus feeling exhausted, struggling to lose weight, and wondering where your libido went, this is for you. I am Tracy Aaron, a functional medicine practitioner who helps women balance their hormones naturally. Without prescriptions, guesswork, or trending Nonsense.'cause here's the truth, your symptoms aren't random. They're signals. And if you know how to listen, you can fix the root cause and start feeling like yourself again. If you're ready for real solutions, let's get to it.
this is the Balanced Hormone Solution Podcast. The place for women who are ready to decode their symptoms, reclaim their energy, and get their spark back without prescriptions, crash diets, or being told, Hey, everything looks normal. I am your host Tracy Aaron, and today we're talking about pleasure. Presence and patterns that make you truly feel alive again. So let me tell you, this anniversary trip to France was more than just a trip. It was a wake up call. Not in the dramatic life changing way we sometimes expect, but in the slow, subtle, sacred way of remembering who you are at your core. After helping hundreds of women rebuild their hormones from burnout, I couldn't ignore the overlap between how I felt in France and how healing actually happens. So today I wanna share five things that Paris reminded me about hormone health and how you can tap into them right where you are, even if you're not jet setting anytime soon. So every morning I would wake up. Drink my lemon oil in my warm glass of room, room temperature, glass of water. Get dressed with intention and walk to a cafe. I wasn't rushing. I wasn't on my phone. I wasn't multitasking. I wasn't checking my to-do list, and I wasn't thinking about macros or whether I had earned that croissant. I was about to eat, and for the first time in a long time, my nervous system felt totally safe. My body felt heard. My joy came rushing back, and it got me thinking, what if the way we live is what's making us sick? And the way that we heal is actually so much simpler. So today I wanna share with you five lessons that France taught me about hormone health. Number one, slowness is a hormone strategy. Your cortisol needs rhythm, not chaos. Your adrenals don't respond well to rushing, multitasking, or overcommitting having no margin to do anything. But Paris especially, it moves slow on purpose, long meals, daily strolls, actual lunch breaks. And guess what? The people there seem more energized, not less so here's what you can do at home. Try eating one meal a day without your phone. No calendar, no to-do list. Just eat and notice how your digestion and your mood respond. Take in your surroundings. Look around, slow down and chew. Pay attention to your hunger cues. Stop eating when you're full. Enjoy your company and eat in community. So number two, pleasure is productive. We've been conditioned in America anyway that we need to earn joy, especially as women. We feel guilty when we're resting. If we're playing, definitely if we're indulging, but joy is not frivolous. It's physiological. Here's the thing about your hormones, oxytocin, that connection hormone, it actually lowers cortisol. So when you do something beautiful or enjoyable, your stress hormones drop naturally. And here's what you can do at home. Light, a candle wear perfume that only you will smell. Savor your coffee. Let yourself delight in the details. That is hormone medicine. Number three, movement should be natural, not punishment. In France, especially in Paris, I walked eight to 10 miles a day without quote unquote working out. It wasn't forced. It was part of the rhythm, and my body thrived. Gentle, frequent movement balances blood sugar. Lowers cortisol boost, serotonin. No gym required. So here's what you can do. Park further away. Take a walk after your meals, dance in your kitchen. Put some enjoyable music on. Make movement a gift to yourself, not a chore. Number four, your nervous system craves beauty and order. Every corner cafe in Paris felt intentional Every street. A visual exhale. Our nervous systems are constantly scanning for safety and beauty, believe it or not, is a safety signal. Chronic stress comes from chaos and overstimulation, but calm surroundings, create inner calm, and here's what you can do. Tidy one small space in your home, light a candle, add a plant. Put your favorite picture book. Curate a calm, beautiful atmosphere and your body will listen. Number five, you can't heal in hustle mode. My best sleep, digestion, creativity, and clarity. It actually doesn't come when I'm doing more. Those things come when I'm doing less, but with more intention. Healing is not about intensity. It's about consistency and trust. So just like per Paris isn't rushed, your healing can't be either. And here's what you can do. Audit your day. Where are you rushing? What should be sacred? Choose one place to slow down this week. Your body and your hormones will. Thank you. So here's my fun activity. I am bringing home as my France souvenir, and I wanna share it with you. Create a Paris hour in your week. Choose one morning or evening where you can act like you're in Paris. Slow down your breakfast walk without your phone. Dress up for no reason. Savor, breathe, unplug your hormones and your soul will. Thank you. Because Paris reminded me that your healing doesn't have to be hard. Your body's not asking for perfection. It's simply asking for presence. Reconnect with yourself. So if you're feeling burnt out, joyless, disconnected, you don't need another protocol. You need to come home to yourself and your hormones will follow. And if you're ready to take that journey with support, I would love to walk alongside you. You don't have to do this alone. I can't wait to see and hear what your Paris hour looks like. I will see you in the next episode.
