Even thinking about that situation now and what happened at the time, like, I used to think about that and like, tear up right away, get super emotional. It was this like tight, horrible feeling because I felt like I let my family down. I felt like I let down the ones that I care about, the ones that I love, and, you know, It's like I was exactly what I was supposed to be.
We started talking about this memory that I had, this thing that I've experienced in the past, and I just had this like heavy, dark energy that came when I was thinking about it, when I was talking about it. And I said to you something along the lines of, I know this is something that I need to stop shoving down.
I need to stop getting too busy and not taking the time to. Like, look at it, dig into it, and, and I wish I could just let it go. And then he responded, so just let it go. And I was like, oh my god, is it really that easy? Because that dark, heavy energy that I felt in my body, in the, in the, was this like weight on me all of a sudden it just like it felt like it dissipated like it was diluted and it wasn't as dense anymore and it was just this like oh feeling right I've been making such a big deal out of it for so long and suddenly it wasn't such a big thing anymore.
That's right that's the cool thing it's just it's very powerful how quick the shift could happen just by having that conversation and essentially I'm in a way kind of steering you. Along your own path, and just helping you along. Because ultimately you gave me the resource, what you needed, and I just kind of repeated it back to you.
And then that's when the shift happened. Yeah, which always makes me laugh when you repeat back what I just said. But it's like we make up so much bullshit in our minds. We make up so many stories and, and hold on to them. And then it's like, well, what if you just let it go? And I was like, okay, right. I thought it was something.
Cause you hear, you need to feel it to heal it. And, and versions of talk therapy is like, we need to take you back into that moment. And I've worked with somebody else in the past and it was the same thing. She was like, we need to take you back to your childhood and to that when you were that little girl.
And, and it was like, a horrible experience. And then, yeah, so simple. I just let it go. Yeah. This is why my opinion, talk therapy is terrible. Terrible. Cause you're, all you're doing is bringing yourself back to the painful memory and rehashing it over and over again. And what good is it to talk, continuously talk about that?
What can you do differently? How can I move forward? Cause it's very past focused instead of future focused. And I've been there myself. I've gone to someone years ago and it was terrible. It was the last thing I ever wanted to do. With techniques like this, where it's just a perspective shift or you're changing, and it's small changes.
We, we want to do the least amount of change to get the biggest amount of outcome. Yeah. And yeah, small quick changes like that, but we have tools and techniques when talking with a client. And yeah, it's funny to see you're, you're still obviously going through it in your head. Yeah. I had this like little child temper tantrum in my mind that was like, no, it's gotta be harder than that.
It's gotta be more complicated. And then I was just like, Oh, does it though? Like why do we tell ourselves that things have to be so hard? Why do we tell ourself that it has to be so much effort and there has to be so much, you Work, whatever put into it so that something can shift and then something as simple as, so just let it go.
And my like nervous system calmed down like right away and everything was just like, Oh, and I think what we'd been talking about, like, I was the person in the past who was, I thought I had to be strong for everybody. And then situations would come up and there was an experience a couple of years ago around being around family and an animal.
No longer being with us. And all of a sudden I had this, I, I couldn't do what I've always done. I had this like lost this sense of who I am is the person who's strong for everyone, and it was terrifying. And that's something that I've continued to carry around. And so when Amanda said, like, just let it go, I was like, well, how is it serving me to continue to stay in that stuck place and to continue to, to feel like a failure and feel like I've let my family down when.
And everything that they needed was exactly what came up and what happened, right? And how often do we do that? We carry things around and, and think that it needs to be complicated to resolve it. But what does it? It
doesn't have to be at all. It can be as simple as that. Let it go. This is something I mean, that I love about hypnosis and I love about the stuff that you do because all of it is at an unconscious level. Right. When we're holding on to stuff and like, I wasn't consciously thinking about it. And then that shift happened and it was like, Oh, yeah, well, the fact that you couldn't remember what you said today, you're like, you were just like, I don't know what I said to you.
And I'm like, that's the point. Cause it's your unconscious was talking at that moment and said exactly what you needed to hear back. And, and that's when change can happen so quickly. It's pretty remarkable and pretty exciting to see the shift in people when that happens. It's like, huh, just connecting the pieces, you're putting the plug into the receptacle and like, there you go, the connection's there, I can, or even just, I can make that phone call now, you know?
Just changes everything. Yeah. And do you have any other examples of where you've seen this help other people, or how Yes, I do. Let me just see what comes up first. Um, there was one most recently when I was working with someone and we were talking around retirement and just financially figuring out that whole process.
And they were very, Trying to remember what the words were. I guess, may not be the exact words, but anxious about the process and needing to know everything, not wanting to make a mistake with the wrong decisions, because financially that can be a big deal as far as how you progress into your older years.
Yeah, they didn't want to make the wrong decision. And it kind of got to the point where, same kind of thing. They, just through conversation and allowing them space to talk through what was going on for them in that moment and what came up. Because that's, that's one of the biggest things that I like to provide when I have clients and talk to clients.
And there's a lot of times where you can go into conversations with friends or family and, or whoever, and they're just. waiting to say whatever they have to say. They're not really listening to what you have to say. And this is where working with clients is so crucial and allowing that space to be created where they have the time to process.
Yeah. Ask a question and just. If it takes two, five minutes, whatever, just allow that time so that, that can happen and make those connections. And that's okay to happen because sometimes it needs to happen because if you're not given that space to do so, you're not going to have that amazing outcome like you did.
And like this client did. where the resources just came up that was being repeated. It was that the universe, the universe has my back. There is no wrong decision or something to that effect was coming up. And it's like, okay, the universe has your back. And just kind of enforcing those resources that this person was talking about.
And ultimately it came to a nice, shift of perspective and we did, we did what is referred to in the hypnosis LP world as some parts work and just kind of making some shifts around there because they're, we all have what we call different parts or resource states and they can be like a committee. If you imagine a committee of people at a table who are all working together or One of the other examples is, like, we all have these internal employees that have jobs they do.
Maybe they're the ones we don't talk to very often because they're responsible for us breathing or our heart rate. Or maybe there are ones that are really deep down that we don't have come up often because there's trauma or whatever deeper issues that, that can happen. And this is very much what we kind of did.
We just had those conversations, made some shifts, and at the end of the day, she was like, yeah, no big deal. This is no problem. Like from coming into a very anxious energy about the whole process. And then, yeah, no big deal. I've got this. It's an amazing shift to see in people. And even for you yesterday, when I keep thinking about that moment and it's like, huh, and yeah, you can just see it.
And that's really cool. Yeah. I, and that's, what's so neat is that we don't give ourselves credit for how much. our unconscious mind is able to help us in so many different ways. Right? You think that I have to get something outside of myself to help me resolve this issue or, or my circumstance. I heard this recently.
If I was in a different circumstance, I would be able to have that result, or I would be able to go after that goal that everyone else is getting or that other people are getting. And it's like, Oh, but I can't because of my circumstance. And it's like, what, what's the tool, the biggest tool that we have that we can use to change our circumstances.
Right? It's, it all starts at an unconscious level. But is it really the circumstance? I don't know where to go with that. This is more your thing. Generally, whatever is appropriate. The first thing that you mentioned is normally not the issue. It's, it's really crazy in these conversations with clients where it starts and then where it ends up because it's, it's quite the journey sometimes.
And it's like, Oh, where did that come from? And like, not necessarily saying out loud to clients, but it's just, it's an amazing thing to see what comes up and what can be resolved. You just sometimes have no idea what's below the surface and what is ready to be handled and just no big deal. Which is so, it's, it's fascinating.
And I want to circle back for a second when you talked about, at some point you brought up that if you're talking to friends or family or whatever and asking for their, they're pulling up their own shit. Like it's not necessarily you. That they're looking at. If you're saying something, they have, they have fears.
They have other stuff that's buried as well that they need to work on. And so they may be like, Ooh, you don't know if you want to do that because this could happen or this could, and they're projecting their stuff on you. Absolutely. It's no shit. We've all been there. We've all done it. I know I've done that before.
Your first response is your own, whatever to yeah, yeah, absolutely. Whereas like, The unconscious looking for, and the committee, I love the committee. We did that a while ago together. And it's, it's, it's interesting to be like, okay, is there, is there a part? I remember how you asked it, but essentially, is there a part in there that can help with this process?
That wants to help with that process. And maybe the current one is not like, ah, I'm over this kind of thing. Yeah. And then a couple of weeks ago I woke up in the morning and I was like hyper creative. I had so much ideas and intention and focus and things I wanted to work on in our business. And I remember, I mean, we had had a conversation about stuff the day before and it's when you start to kind of feed stuff to your unconscious, more stuff comes out, which is pretty cool.
Yeah. Cool. In terms of if you're in a funk creativity wise or productivity wise, it's like, where's there an area that maybe needs a little bit more attention in your mind to help you move forward. Yeah. This actually makes me think of the next thing I had going on this week.
Cause we're always giving ourselves suggestions or what they call auto suggestion. You're basically, first thing you get up in the morning if you say it's going to be a bad day, that's your first suggestion to yourself that is how it's going to proceed but if you get up and say It's gonna be a great day, it's sunny out whatever the positive things are so with this neck issue I had it started maybe Wednesday, I can't remember what day it was but it was basically mostly just a day of where I couldn't even look up at the time it was in a weird place where swallowing was awkward and I actually had to put my hand on the side of my neck so I could support the muscles to do that it was very strange But I thought, okay, let's do it.
Keep this in a positive frame because our our body's healing all the time. It knows how to naturally do that I'm like, okay with every step I take it's getting better and better I'm healing and just things along those lines. I just kept repeating to myself and the worst of it was Thursday and then Friday, like as the day went on Thursday, it was getting better.
It was releasing. It was relaxing and letting go and like Friday was fine. And it's true. We talk about that all the time, right? The body is always trying to heal itself if what's getting in the way or what's missing and it may be the mindset related stuff. I don't remember years ago working with Bob Proctor kind of stuff and hearing that essentially your unconscious is always trying to prove you right.
So that thought where you wake up in the morning and you're like, it's going to be a crappy day, your mind is going to work to prove that thought. Right? So why not change it? It's the whole self fulfilling prophecy side of things. Right? And you were proof with the neck pain. So neck pain for a day could hardly swallow, had to support your neck, couldn't turn, like, look up.
And it was like, No, no. It's getting better every moment. And I mean, Amanda says all of the time, um, you don't have to tell your finger how to heal. If you cut it, it goes to work doing that for you. So where are there other ways that we can use this like superpower basically that we have to accomplish what we want to get the outcome, the results that we want, right?
If you're predicting and creating a bad day, what else could you predict in the positive? Exactly. If you can do that just So easy. Why not do the positive? Just as easy. Yeah, I'm sure most people haven't had experience with expecting the worst and the worst happens. Right? You think, I knew it. I knew it. I was right.
See? And it's like, okay, well, present something, like, be right about something good. It's pretty amazing. What is it? How is it serving you to be right about the absolute negative happening? I'd rather be right about the absolute amazing happening. Yeah. Me too. Like for me, the simplest of things of being able to, I can look up, I can move my head all around and even like put my hair back up without having to be awkward about it.
Yeah. That's, that's quite something. Yeah. It's pretty cool. But I mean, we started out talking about the cred that I was carrying around. Yeah. Yeah. And thinking that it was something that it was a big deal to get past it. And just that shift to, does it have to be, it was the simple suggestion of just let it go.
And I mean, even thinking about that situation now and what happened at the time, like I used to think about that and like tear up right away. It's super emotional, it was this like tight, horrible feeling because I felt like I let my family down. I felt like I let down the ones that I care about, the ones that I love, and it's like I was exactly what I was supposed to be in that moment, right?
How often do we make ourselves wrong? Often, at times. And it wasn't wrong. And I let it go. That's right. You let it go. I don't need Kleenex right now. I talked about that and it's, it's fine and yeah, it's neat. Yeah. It's again, it's, it's something so cool just to have these mindset tools and just Quick little shifts that can be made.
So if you're listening to this and you're experiencing anything I don't know if anything is resonating or you can feel the similarities to the stories we've shared You know, just just know there are easy easier ways to handle these things and sometimes it's just as simple as a conversation because usually there's a emotional component to physical issues that manifest and There's, yeah, it's usually an emotional component that's tied, there's, maybe there's anger or something that's deeper in there.
That's not the initial, like, I have this problem, but no, no, no, we're going to go brief lights down and find out exactly what it is. Oh, it's this issue from childhood. Let it go. And, and yeah, things change. It's a matter of talking through it. and allowing the client to find the resources that they need in order to resolve that.
And it's, it can be quite easy. I was waiting for you to say easy. Cause it's true. And like, as a society, we make things so much harder than they really are. Right. We're always looking for something outside of ourselves to do this work, to solve these problems as well. And you have everything you need inside of you.
Yeah. Um, to fix a lot of the problems, this can be health related stuff as well. I remember, um, weeks ago talking on the podcast about even like autoimmune and my experience with that. And you, Amanda's saying to me, like, cause I thought nutrition was my, was my fix all solution and she's like, no, you made a decision.
When it comes to anything health related or situations in your life, it starts with a decision. You decide, you know what, I'm going to do something different, or I'm going to look for help and someone's going to give me the guidance or show me what I need to do to move forward from here. Yeah. It sounds silly, but it's coming up in my head.
Is, is it? Easy as it is to decide you want a pizza and you order that pizza by picking up your phone. Maybe not this anymore. It'd be more of this, I guess. But as simple as that is to do, you can do that with other things that we decide to make more complicated. Yeah. And it's expecting it too, right? Like you order, uh, you order a pizza, you order something off Amazon, you put in that order and you just expect that it's going to show up.
In two days or less. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. If you have Amazon prime, it might be here tomorrow, even though it's Sunday. Yeah. Um, but what if we did the same thing with the other things that we're expecting or asking for in our life, right? It's possible for them to be here. It's possible for them to be here with ease and quicker than we create in our minds.
So why not order that pizza again? It's Amanda's phone versus Yeah. The iPhone. Well, it's, yeah, no kid is going to remember this. And it's like, neither is kids going to remember rolling it, rolling down the window that anyways, we've, we've ruined things with modernization, but, um, yeah, it's, there's so much, I don't know where I was going with that, but it's pretty neat.
And there's so much you can do. I think basically the gist of that is. It can be simple, it can be easy, and just allow. And if you're open to having a conversation and ready to change things, we're here to help. Simple as that.
That's just a little thing we wanted to share for this week's episode. It just came up and with, I think, a little bit of an inspiration, I think is the word I was looking for, with inspiration from another coach in the world who said just kind of go unspottinaty and. Just go with what comes up and this is what that was.
So, intuition was driving today's episode, so we hope you enjoyed, hope you found value in it. And if you did, please uh drop some comments and let us know what came up for you, we'd love to hear. And we'll leave it at that. See you on the next episode. Thanks everyone!
