Mindset and Healing: Milestones in Holistic Health from Our 100th Episode
🚀 Exciting Milestone at Limitless Health Podcast: Episode 100! 🚀
We are thrilled to celebrate the release of our 100th episode, "The Holistic Health Revolution: Natural Solutions for Lasting Wellness." 🎉 It's been an incredible journey of growth, learning, and empowerment with my co-host, Amanda Golightly.
Reflecting on why we began this podcast, it was during a time when open discussions about health solutions were being stifled. We wanted to create a platform where we could freely share our experiences, provide natural health options, and inspire others with diverse voices from the health space.
Call to Action:
If this episode resonated with you, please share it with someone who might find it helpful. Don’t forget to follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube for more insights and updates. Let us know your thoughts in the comments or leave us a review—we’d love to hear from you!
🔑 Here are three key takeaways from our journey:
- Empowerment Through Information: Our mission has always been to equip you with the knowledge needed to make informed health decisions. Health is not one-size-fits-all, and we're here to explore the many paths to wellness.
- Mindset Matters: In both health and life, the right mindset is crucial. Whether it's through our exploration of applied kinesiology or the power of hypnosis, we've discovered that emotional and mental alignment can have profound physical effects.
- Your Body Knows Best: We've learned that our bodies inherently know what they need to heal—it's about tuning in and listening. Techniques like deep breathing and self-reflection can unlock the insights you need for personal wellness.
We are deeply grateful to all our listeners who have been a part of this journey with us. Let's continue to explore holistic health together!
Stay tuned for exciting episodes to come. Next week's is one you won't want to miss.

Amanda Golightly [00:00:00]:
We believe in growth and continuous learning.
Kate McDowell [00:00:03]:
We believe in educating and sharing knowledge.
Amanda Golightly [00:00:06]:
We believe the body is miraculous and is able to heal with the proper nutrition and support.
Kate McDowell [00:00:11]:
And we believe the right mindset is key to your success. I'm Amanda Gilitely. And I'm Kate McDowell. And this is Limitless Health.
Amanda Golightly [00:00:19]:
Live well naturally. Hello. And back to the Limitless Health podcast. Holy moly. It's episode 100. We can't believe we've had this will be our 100th episode already. It it seems like forever, and it seems like a short time. It
Kate McDowell [00:00:37]:
It's wild Yeah. That we've a 100 episodes. And while looking back at why we started this and how it's evolved over time and initially when we began recording, it was like we were going through a hard time in society and in the world where there was a lot of censorship and we couldn't talk about things. And I wanted a space where we could talk about things because so many people are dealing with different health challenges and different issues and not getting the support they need. And I wanted to be able to talk openly and freely with you about things that we've used to help clients, we've used to help ourselves. And so this was our platform. Instagram was blocking you for posts that talked about natural solutions. I remember a colleague had a post taken down because she talked about vitamin C supporting the immune system.
Kate McDowell [00:01:27]:
And I was like, this is not okay. People need to have other options. And so that's, that was a big part of why my intention and my interest in doing a podcast in the beginning.
Amanda Golightly [00:01:40]:
That was the main reason. I think having interviews with different people in the health space who could bring their message and share that with everyone, it was about giving people options. It wasn't about a one path to what they deem as better health. It's multiple routes. There's multiple doors you can open and find healing and a better life and better productivity, better creativity, whatever that is, that the goal is for you. It's we, as you said, we were very much being censored around that time with anything natural health. And we wanted a way of just speaking about almost anything we wanted to and putting that out there for people to have more information so they can make their own decision as far as what they want to do with their health and with their life. Because it's all about empowerment, personal empowerment for you rather than giving it away to whoever you are working with.
Amanda Golightly [00:02:40]:
Because ultimately, you have your all your resources that you need, and it's just a matter of tapping into that and finding out what is intuitively the best for you.
Kate McDowell [00:02:50]:
Yeah. And over the time doing this, under the 100 episodes, at first, we were just talking. It was the 2 of us talking about things that we learned, things we'd experienced. And then we started doing interviews, and I wasn't expecting to do interviews at the beginning. And the experience of that was really cool because I learned a crap ton from the different people that we connected with. We made some really great connections and just heard things that hadn't been in my awareness before. Like, I can't wait for you to hear the episode we have next week. I'm so fired up and excited about it, but there's so much information out there that we don't come in contact with until we start exploring and start opening our mind to what's possible.
Kate McDowell [00:03:33]:
And so that's been a really great experience. Lots of people who have dealt with different chronic health conditions, who've tried different things and finally found a solution for them and are now helping other people. And almost everything so I'm a holistic nutrition on paper, and almost every single person I talk to who's also in holistic nutrition or the holistic health field has their own story. And so hearing the stories of all the people that we interviewed and how they were in a place where they were like, this isn't working. I need to do something different. There's got to be something else. That was definitely my experience, but hearing that that story repeated over and over and over and over again with all of our guests, I found very validating and empowering. And I know that our listeners, I've heard feedback from people that they found that really useful, too.
Kate McDowell [00:04:22]:
Conversations start up all the time where people are like, oh, I was listening to your podcast, and this really hit home for me. This opened my eyes to something, or it was a different perspective, and it made me think about things differently. And so for me, that's why we've recorded 100 episodes and keep going because some weeks it's like, what the heck are we even gonna talk about? And then stuff shows up. Right? Like, right before we hit record today, I was essentially asking the universe or whatever you connect with, associate with. I was like, send me the message that people need to hear and speak to and through me because we just want to provide value for people. And as Amanda said, it's about your health is, you're the best advocate when it comes to your health. No one else knows what it's like to live in your body. A doctor can go to school and get a medical degree and spend all of that time in education.
Kate McDowell [00:05:20]:
I've lived in this body for 42 years and no one can tell me how it feels to live in this body. And so when it comes to health, that's kind of the message we wanted to share with people is to give you so much more empowerment and understanding and awareness of what's going on in your body. And if you have questions, ask questions, Right?
Amanda Golightly [00:05:43]:
Mhmm. I'm thinking back to the beginning of when we started this, and it can be a good analogy or comparison to health because when we were starting this podcast, new lot of learning happening, big learning curve. But the thing that was stopping us was not having a name. And it got to the point where I said, let's just do it without the name. And this can be the same thing in your health journey if you don't know exactly what you're doing. Start anyway. Figure it out. Look for the resources.
Amanda Golightly [00:06:12]:
And once we did start, the name came to us, and we loved it. It was, it wasn't was it just limitless, the limitless podcast at that point? And then that again transitioned into limitless health. And that just kind of signifies the journey from where we started to no name to this name to a newer name and the evolution of it was just you and I talking about certain topics at that point. And it was bending mindset, I think, health. And it's kind of almost an act complete circle, actually, because we went into the health realm, and now we're coming back to including the mindset, which is kind of actually fun to just realize. So just think about that in terms of your health journey. If you're letting something stop you because you don't know exactly what you're doing, don't let that one thing kind of put the hitch in your giddy up, if you will. That's what just what came up.
Amanda Golightly [00:07:01]:
So we're going with that. Start anyway. If you're thinking about working out and being healthier, just start. Pick up it doesn't even have to be a weight. It could be all bodyweight stuff. Just start moving your body. It's simple as that. And you'll learn as you go.
Amanda Golightly [00:07:15]:
And you'll learn new things. You'll learn different perspectives and find different resources that'll be out there. And because I guess it's 2 years ago or a little over 2 years ago when we started this, we're different people now than we were then. And that's just how you're going to go.
Kate McDowell [00:07:32]:
And it is interesting to think that it has come full circle because we were doing a lot of mindset stuff for a while and then got into, we use applied kinesiology now to be able to test people from the physical sense of what's going on inside your body. And that was the objective of this episode to talk about like, what does your body need to heal? And mindset is a big component of that and the physical side too. So from the perspective of what organs, glands, systems in your body are not functioning optimally, that could be because there's something physical getting in the way that could be your body is having a logical reaction response to its environment or to being poisoned. And so physical, there's a side of that too, but the emotional side of it is so deep and it's something that most people don't even explore. And I had a conversation with someone the other day, and it's like you get into something health related. I can definitely speak to this from my MS journey, where at the beginning I was like, I just wanna surround myself with people who are who understand what I'm going through. I just wanna surround myself with people who are stuck and who understand how shitty this feels. I'm going to get bleeped on Instagram for that.
Kate McDowell [00:08:43]:
And I just want to because they know what's going on. And over time, I had to realize, and the big shift for me was noticing, like surround yourself with people who are doing the things and who are already where you want to be. And so when it comes to anything health, mindset has such a big piece of it because if you kind of take on the identity of whatever you're dealing with, you're going to make the same actions, you're going to have the same thoughts, the same feelings, and nothing's going to change. And so a really interesting reflection that Amanda shared a while ago was that I always thought my, secret or what got me to where I am in terms of living symptom free with MS was nutrition. But before that, it was mindset because I had to make a decision that I'm not, this is not who I am anymore. I'm going to be someone different. And so from the mindset side of things, it's such an important piece of everything.
Amanda Golightly [00:09:46]:
It's you've been doing the same things and getting this outcome and expecting to get a different outcome, whereas you made a different decision, which led to the different decision, which led to a different outcome. And that's the same for everyone listening. If you want to do some, if you want a different outcome, do something different. And on the note of what does your body need to heal? We had a interesting kind of session yesterday, Tate and I, where something came up for her. She was having this neck pain all of a sudden, and we've just been having these moments recently where we just kind of get into a little bit of mindset work. We had already set up what we call, like, ideomotor signals with her on her hand, which was just basically your hand is able to give signals via the unconscious mind. And it was it's pretty neat how it works. So I got up the emotion wheel because I asked if it was emotion related, and I got a yes.
Amanda Golightly [00:10:36]:
And from there, we dug in, found a couple of emotions. Do you remember what they were to share?
Kate McDowell [00:10:40]:
Anger was one of them.
Amanda Golightly [00:10:42]:
The other one was hurt.
Kate McDowell [00:10:44]:
Yes. Yeah. I didn't expect that.
Amanda Golightly [00:10:47]:
Mhmm. Yeah. It was very interesting to go through the chart and see what came up. And as we're going through that, you knew what that was related to once we kind of got into it. We were able to kind of go through a different few different techniques to clear that for you. And how was your neck today?
Kate McDowell [00:11:03]:
Way better. I like immediately after I had the neck pain, I text my chiropractor and was like, can I book an appointment and wanted to go the physical? And because if there's a problem in the body, you fix it physically and then it's better. But we spent this time, I don't even know how long it was. It wasn't long.
Amanda Golightly [00:11:21]:
Wasn't long now.
Kate McDowell [00:11:22]:
But working on clearing the emotional component there. I'm an entrepreneur. I'm a business owner and I'm someone who's very I'm getting better and it's something I'm working on, but when other people, like I care what other people think. So if I post something and I'm getting negative comments from it, it's like knife in the heart. It doesn't feel good. And so the hurt was connected to essentially some negative feedback from actually a coach that I'm working with, and I found it hurt. And so we cleared that and the neck pain is gone. And it's amazing how we never associate that.
Kate McDowell [00:12:00]:
We think there's something outside of ourselves, something physical we need to do to fix stuff that we're dealing with that could be constipation. Constipation is actually one that I've seen with many clients, and when I ask them, what are you holding on to? There's sometimes like tears because they're like, oh my God, they know it, but they're not acknowledging it. And then we start to acknowledge it and things start to move in the body again. And as Amanda said earlier, even in terms of physical movement, exercise, whatever it is, movement is so important. Things staying stagnant, holding on, gripping things, it's going to cause problems in your body and you're swimming. Yeah.
Amanda Golightly [00:12:45]:
Movement is life.
Kate McDowell [00:12:45]:
Exactly. Yeah. So it was fascinating to be able to do that quick. I'm I'm very lucky. I know I have a personal hypnotist, but, to be able to talk about these things and just even acknowledging them
Amanda Golightly [00:12:59]:
Mhmm.
Kate McDowell [00:12:59]:
And feel like, oh, okay. It's you're shining the light on that that thing that I've left in the dark corner. Right?
Amanda Golightly [00:13:07]:
That's an interesting metaphor you just use. The flashlight. Corner, But you're using a flashlight now so you can see things clearer and have a better, have a different perspective on it that you can take away and hold on to for your future. So on the topic of that, it's very interesting because kind of a new approach to that is not all what I know when people hear the word hypnosis, they may get certain negative associations with that. But as far as, like, what we're doing for people who do know about hypnosis already, it's not your, I guess, traditional put you in a trance and, you know, do that. Like a duck. No. No.
Amanda Golightly [00:13:43]:
That's that's stage stuff. That's totally different. This is in a way to improve. It's not entertainment. It is all it is a way to basically help you focus in on something that you wanna change and make better. And in the way that we worked yesterday, it was more conversational. It wasn't a, like, sleep now and go through a hypnotic whatever came out. Yeah.
Amanda Golightly [00:14:03]:
Which is kind of the fun part because it's you're almost I don't know how you would describe it on your end as far as the process goes. We're just basically talking and I'm asking you questions and seeing what comes out and just making tweaks and giving you the suggestions you need to get a better result. And you were able to clear what you needed to.
Kate McDowell [00:14:24]:
And the power of that from that perspective of basically you're not doing anything to me. You're speaking to my unconscious and we're able to unlock some things that haven't been addressed and that are there. And even when it comes to the applied kinesiology, the muscle testing that we do, I'm not physically doing anything to you. Your body knows everything that's going on. Your body knows what it needs to heal.
Amanda Golightly [00:14:51]:
It
Kate McDowell [00:14:51]:
just doesn't speak English. I've like joked with Amanda a couple of times. I wish my unconscious would just text me because then I'd know what it's trying to tell me.
Amanda Golightly [00:15:01]:
And what that would do?
Kate McDowell [00:15:04]:
I don't remember. Oh, I started journaling. I started journaling.
Amanda Golightly [00:15:09]:
That's the best thing.
Kate McDowell [00:15:10]:
Yeah. Stuff just like flows out. Like, it's hardly legible because I'm writing so fast. But, yeah, your body knows everything that it needs, and that's mentally, that's physically as well. The hypnosis side of it is focusing on the unconscious, and then when we do the applied kinesiology muscle testing, it's your nervous system, which are interconnected, but it's like it knows what's going on in your system. Every organ gland tissue in the body is trying to communicate with you what's wrong. Symptoms are messages from the body and we're so conditioned as a society. Yep, me in the past too, if there's something, if there's symptoms or something wrong with you, take a medication and that'll fix it, and it doesn't.
Kate McDowell [00:15:56]:
It mutes it down, turns down the volume on the message. And so then you really don't hear it. And then your body's like, what the heck? I was trying to get her attention. And that's all of these things show up in life in different ways, shapes, and forms.
Amanda Golightly [00:16:12]:
All of that is just information, whether it be symptoms or the emotions we experience. And it's just a matter of paying attention, listening, finding the correct or best route for you to, in order to heal that rather than suppressing or muting, as you said.
Kate McDowell [00:16:28]:
Exactly. And the hypnosis side of things is newer. I guess it's not really newer for me. I was going to say that's a newer one for me, but it's something I find it so incredibly valuable to layer on top of the other things because everything is working together to try and help, yes, improve your health, but improves your life too. It improves how you show up in your, in the world. It improves confidence. It improves how you interact with people. So many different things change when you give mind and body the support that it needs to function optimally.
Amanda Golightly [00:17:03]:
And you got those, like, 3 pillars of your life from health, career, and business, I suppose, and then your personal life. And if you're gonna heal something in one of them, it's gonna impact the others as well. It just can't be helped. If you're gonna improve yourself in one way, it's gonna help. It's just gonna bridge over to the others, which is awesome. Because as we talk about with our bodies and the all the circuits running through us for all our organs, that's all connected. And it's the same with our lives as far as business, health, personal lives, personal relationships. It's all connected.
Kate McDowell [00:17:41]:
Yeah. Is there something that you can like a quick exercise you can offer people listening that can help them tune into something, a struggle that they're dealing with.
Amanda Golightly [00:17:51]:
Maybe if you're dealing with something that's not very easy, it's very reflective in how we are physically. So if you're able to the simplest way to kind of change that would be your breathing. So if you could take a deep breath and just kind of tune into your body and just allow yourself to notice whatever you're dealing with. Notice where you're holding that in your body and just become aware of that. And perhaps it's just as simple as asking yourself what needs to happen to feel better. And then just allow an answer to come. Because as we already said, our bodies know intuitively what we need. We're sending our message ourselves messages all the time for our symptoms.
Amanda Golightly [00:18:43]:
Maybe there's emotions that are coming up. It's all information. And if you can allow yourself to connect better with your unconscious mind, it will and maybe maybe for some people out there, it's God, it's a higher power, whatever it is. Just tap into that. Tap into whatever that source is for you and just just allow. It's easy. You can do it if you give yourself the time and the space to do so and just ask a simple question and just see what comes up. I'd be very curious to see what happens.
Kate McDowell [00:19:20]:
Amazing. I love it. And it's so easy. Right. We look at things as like, this is a really big problem. And again, there's the, I need something outside of myself to solve this. But the little exercise that Amanda just gave you is so powerful. It's something that you can do.
Kate McDowell [00:19:38]:
You don't need any equipment for it. You don't need anything. It's a few minutes of your time to just sit and reflect and allow and see what shows up for you. So it's really interesting. I was going to share a tidbit today as well. They're kind of interconnected because you said deep breathing, which is also beneficial for the nervous system, which is something that I address a lot of times with clients as well. And it's alright. We're on video right now, but most people are gonna be listening to this on the podcast.
Kate McDowell [00:20:11]:
But your cell phone, can you here's a challenge I have for you. For the next 10 days, don't touch or look at your cell phone when you wake up in the morning until you go for a walk. Go outside. You can walk on your treadmill if it's cold out, if it's rainy, if it's crappy. I have a dog, so I go out no matter what. But go for a walk for 5 minutes, 10 minutes before you touch your cell phone. That will take the body out of fight or flight, which many of us are living in all of the time. We're at a state now where especially radiation, when you think of that radiation coming from EMF, coming from Wi Fi, coming from your cell phone, your computer, your TV, your smart meter, your microwave, all of the different things, it's a stress on our body 247.
Kate McDowell [00:21:03]:
And so if you can give your nervous system that little break to go back into rest, digest, and heal, see what happens. Do it for 10 days. So that's my little Amanda's is easier. That's my little challenge for you for 10 days. So
Amanda Golightly [00:21:18]:
That is all perspective as far as which which is easier.
Kate McDowell [00:21:20]:
That's true.
Amanda Golightly [00:21:21]:
It is. I think we can wrap it up there. So happy one hundredth to aligned, not, well, not aligned with natural health. Oh, the limitless health podcast. My goodness. Happy 100th, 100th. We're amazed that the progress we've made and where things have come. And we're we've been pretty excited to as Kate has mentioned, we've gotten feedback from people listening and getting different shifts.
Amanda Golightly [00:21:44]:
And that by far is the the greatest part about doing this is when we hear from everyone listening, what perspective shifts you have, what's something that you learned, anything like that, because that's why we're here. We wanna share information and we want to help empower you to make better decisions and have a better life. Yeah. Otherwise, why are we here?
Kate McDowell [00:22:06]:
And thank you to anyone who's listened to one episode, to anyone who's listened to many episodes. Thank you so much for being along this or with us on this journey because we can just sit and talk to ourselves, but we'd much rather reach people. I mean, that's part of the conversation Amanda and I have had recently. Like I look back at the journey that I've had with health and it's I can't look back and say there was no purpose to that. I truly believe there is a purpose. And I have some big, big moves that I need to make in terms of getting the message out there. And this is a vehicle that's part of that. And it's the understanding that there's a lot of crap going on in the world.
Kate McDowell [00:22:54]:
A lot of people are suffering. A lot of people are dealing with health stuff and I want to be a part of changing that and of helping people realize there's so much more they can do for themselves and for their health than they've probably ever been led to believe. And so this has been a vehicle for that. And so, again, my thanks. Thank you so much for being a part of this, with us, this journey with us. It's been a lot of fun and we are not stopping. Just wait till you hear next week's episode. It's I can't wait.
Amanda Golightly [00:23:26]:
Yes. As Kate said, we're very grateful for our audience and everyone who's listening, and we look forward to next week's episode to share with you. Thanks again, and we'll catch you next time.
