What if your MS fatigue has less to do with your body and more to do with your beliefs? I know that might sound out there, but stay with me because in this episode I'm sharing a completely different way to understand the kind of exhaustion that doesn't go away with rest. Let's talk about what fatigue might actually be trying to tell you and why your subconscious might be the missing piece you've never been told about.

It's Kate McDowell from Align Natural Health, and today we're talking about something so many women with MS deal with every single day. Fatigue. But I want to look at it through a different lens because what if your fatigue isn't just a symptom? It's a signal. A signal from your body that something deeper is going on.

Not just physically, but mentally and emotionally too. Now, before you roll your eyes and think, oh great, another person telling me it's all in my head. I've been there, but I want you to hear me clearly. That's not what I'm saying. What I am saying is that the body and the unconscious mind are connected in ways that most of us were never taught, and when we start to work with that connection, fatigue can actually start to shift.

Not with more supplements, not with more pushing, but with more listening. One of the biggest game changers for me in my journey and for many of my clients too, is realizing that fatigue isn't always about energy production. It's often about energy protection. If your nervous system is stuck in survival mode, running fear, stress.

Old trauma in the background, your body is going to burn through energy just to keep you safe. It's like having 20 apps open on your phone. You're not actively using them, but your battery is still draining. This is where hypnosis and NLP are really helpful tools to help us close these apps. They help the nervous system feel safe enough to stop bracing, to slow down, to restore.

And when that happens, you stop wasting energy on defense and start reclaiming it for healing. Here's something most people miss. Fatigue can actually become a loop. You start out physically tired, but over time it gets tied to fear. Fear of flaring, fear of not being able to function, fear of what this means for your future.

So now every time you feel tired, your brain says, oh no. Here we go again. And that fear adds to the fatigue. Subconscious work helps to break that loop. We clear the emotional charge around fatigue. We separate your identity from the pattern. We help your unconscious mind, expect energy, not just protect you from crashes, and that that's when real change starts to happen.

So one question for you. What's the message? And this is a question that's very rarely explored, and it might sound weird, but one of the most powerful questions I ask my clients is, what is your fatigue trying to say? Because symptoms don't show up for no reason, and fatigue isn't your enemy. It's communication.

It might be saying, Hey, your boundaries are being crossed. Or you're doing too much for others and not enough for you. That was me in the past. Or even something about this pace, this pressure, this environment doesn't feel safe again. Hypnosis and NLP give you tools to tune in without judgment, without shame, and actually hear what your body's been trying to tell you.

I had a client say to me, Kate, I'm tired before I even open my eyes in the morning. And when we dug in, we found out her nervous system had never been taught how to rest. She was running a lifelong pattern of people pleasing perfectionism and guilt, always doing, always proving.

Once we addressed those unconscious beliefs, she messaged me and said, I still have hard days, but I don't dread waking up anymore. My energy feels calmer and more consistent. And that's the power of seeing the mind and body as a partnership that can work together.

So if you're doing everything right, eating clean, taking supplements, trying to rest, but you're still exhausted, maybe it's time to try a different approach. Not one that forces your body to perform, but one that helps your body feel safe. Because when your nervous system feels safe, your energy isn't under constant threat and it becomes available again.

You're not lazy. Your body isn't broken. Your fatigue isn't random. It's a sign and you can learn to listen. If this spoke to you, come hang out with me on Instagram at Aligned Natural Health, or check the link in the show notes for ways to work together.
