Hey guys, I'm Harv Nagra. I'm back with another Ops Quickie, and this time we're talking about business maturity. First, why I think this is so important. Years ago when I was moving into ops, our new COO shared a business maturity model with me and asked me to reflect on where I thought our business sat. It was eye-opening. Where I thought we were doing pretty well and we were, in a lot of ways, it was a bit of a reality check in others. It gave me an understanding of what we hadn't accomplished yet. And that's the thing, if you don't have anything to benchmark yourself against, you just don't know. So there's loads of maturity models out there for different industries, but the one I like reflecting on is by SPI Research, which is for service-based businesses like agencies and consultancies of all stripes. Here's some stats for you. A whopping 30% of businesses are stuck at level one. Another 25% only make it to level two. And level five? Well, only 5% of businesses make it to the top level. So you could go away, look up a model and do your own reflections and mapping. But here's what I've done. I've gone away and created a business maturity assessment. It's based on a lot of things, what I've read and learned, my own experience as an ops director and consultant, as well as the things I've absorbed while speaking to experts on this podcast. It takes about three minutes. It's only 25 questions. And you'll get your business maturity results across five key pillars: people, process, tech, data, and growth strategies. Not only the results, though, it also gives you a steer on where to focus next. So here's my question for you to reflect on: where do you think you sit? In what I call the chaotic era? The glimmers of growth era? The stable era? The data-driven era? Or the innovation era? Now click the link in the episode notes or go to bit.ly/assess-business-maturity. That's bit.ly/assess-business-maturity, and you'll find out if you're right. If you want to discuss your results, drop me a note or get in touch if you want me to recommend one of the brilliant experts that have been on the podcast, that would be a great fit for helping you get to the next level based on your specific challenges. Alright, I'll leave it there. Go take the quiz. Let me know how it goes.
