師父說:聽經,是親近諸佛菩薩;熏習,一天都不能中斷!
民國初年夏蓮居居士會集《無量壽經》圓滿之後,提倡成立「淨宗學會」,其用意是正本清源。佛教是佛陀對九法界眾生至善圓滿的教育。釋迦牟尼佛四十九年所說的一切經,內容就是說明宇宙人生的真相。人生就是自己,宇宙是我們生活的環境。覺悟者稱佛菩薩,迷惑為凡夫。佛教的修學綱領是覺正淨。覺而不迷,正而不邪,淨而不染。並依戒定慧三學,以求達到此目標。「淨宗學會」成立的目的是推動佛陀教育,特別是淨土宗,念佛法門,尤其適合現代人修學。
修行就是將我們對宇宙人生錯誤的想法、看法、說法、做法,加以修正。修學的基礎是三福,待人依六和,處事修六度,尊普賢十願,歸心淨土圓滿矣!
淨空法師說:「三日不讀聖賢書,面目全非」,三天不讀經,不聽經,也就是不接受聖賢人的教誨,煩惱習氣決定起現行,就退轉了。可見讀經聽經之重要。現在我們利用高科技,將講經傳播到網路上,希望大家都能看到。有時間可以反覆聽,聽多了就會開悟。到真正覺悟,就不會退心了。這是用經教的熏習來增加我們的善根福德。聽經比看經好,文殊菩薩在楞嚴會上說,“此方真教體,清淨在音聞”,是說娑婆世界的眾生耳根最利,聽法容易開悟。我們為什麼會退轉?自己修行的功夫敵不過習氣,煩惱習氣、業障太重。諸佛菩薩初學的時候也不例外。你要有恆心,要有毅力,要把世間一切的緣都看淡,人事物都要看淡;若一年比一年淡薄,那我們就有進步。雖然每天誦經念佛很用功,如果對世緣還是看得那麼重,還是那樣分別、執著,就毫無功夫。聽經、念佛白費勁了,只是跟佛法結一點緣而已,這一生不得受用。這個很重要!

所以要記住
So, you must remember that,
這個世間
in this world
名聞利養、
whether it is fame, profit,
功名富貴、
social status, wealth,
家親眷屬
family members or relatives,
一個都帶不走。
you can take none of them.
你死的時候一個都帶不走,
You can take none of them with you when you die.
什麼東西能帶走?
What can you take with you when you die?
你這一生所造的業能帶走,
You can take all the karma, or good and bad energy, generated by what you have done in this life.
你所修行的功德能帶走,
You can take all your efforts and gains of correcting your thoughts, speech and actions.
你的智慧、德能能帶走。
You can take your wisdom and abilities with you.
你要是了解這個事實真相
If you understand this truth of the Universe,
我們人生的目標就不一樣了。
your goal of life will be different.
為什麼?
Why?
帶不去的,
For things that we cannot take with us when we die,
我要它幹什麼?
what is point of getting them?
有,很好;
If we have them, great.
沒有,也很好,
If we don’t have them, great as well.
心就不放在這上面了。
Our minds will no longer focus on those things.
帶得去的那要留意,
As for the things we can take with us, we must pay attention to them.
惡念、惡行、惡業能帶得去,
Bad energy, bad thoughts and bad actions will definitely go with us when we die.
但是這不好,
But these are not good.
帶這東西去來生的果報在三惡道,
If we take these things with us, we will end up being reborn in the three evil realms in our next lives.
我們不能帶這個。
So, we must not take these things.
我們帶什麼?
What should we take with us?
我們帶善心、善念、善行、善業。
We should take good mind, good thoughts, good actions, and good energy.
帶這個好。
It is good to take these with us.
帶這個,來生我們在三善道,
If we have these to take with us, we will be reborn in the three good realms in our next lives.
不會墮三惡道。
And we will not be reborn in the three evil realms.
初果覺悟了,
Theravada practitioners who have attained the ‘initial achievement’ are awakened to this truth.
大乘初信位的菩薩
As for Mahayana practitioners who have attained the ‘initial level of believing in Buddhas teachings’,
悟性比小乘初果高明,
they have reached higher level of understanding than aforementioned Theravada practitioners.
他明瞭
They know the truth.
所以他慢慢的在那學習。
That’s why they are steadily learning.
斷惡修善、
Learn to stop doing whatever is bad and to practise whatever is good.
積功累德,
Learn to accumulate their efforts and gains.
他把這個當作他這一生第一個目標,
They take the learning as their foremost goal in this life.
他要完成這個學業
They are determined to complete this learning
提升自己,
and improve themselves.
不一樣了。
What they want is completely different now.
六道眾生為什麼出不了六道,
Why all beings in the Six Realms cannot get out of the Six Realms?
