Episode 6: Stress + Sleep Hygiene - Tips for REST
When we feel stressed it can throw everything out of whack -
digestion, hormones, sleep, cognition, intimacy, performance, creativity and more.
Sleep is foundational to our health + wellbeing.
When we struggle with falling asleep, staying a sleep or waking up feeling rested, it's important to reflect on our morning + evening routine AND our thoughts.
If we shoot out of bed in the morning and run full speed ahead into the day and just crash at night, we may not get the deeper sleep that supports us in feeling rested, responsive (vs reactive) and more at ease during the day.
If we watch or read or listen to really intense / fear provoking content before bed, it can trigger a stress response leading to poor sleep and negatively influence our subconscious mind + our thoughts when we awake in the morning.
Listen along to learn key tips / practices to reduce stress AND support your sleep cycle + productivity during the day :)
Disclaimer: I am NOT a doctor. This is my perspective on the topic, anchored in the work of various thought leaders + physicians (like Andrew Huberman, Irene Lyons, Peter Levine, Joe Dispenza + Dr. Gabor Mate to name a few) paired with my own life experiences and healing journey from burnout, grief, severe injury and other events.
