Episode 10: The power of Breathwork for Stress Management
How often do you check in, and notice your breathing? The pace, depth, frequency, temperature.
Our breath is an amazing tool and teacher within us. Our breath can help indicate when we are locked in a sympathetic stress response AND in a relaxed state. And our breath is the fastest tool to help shift from stress + tension to presence and ease.
For this reason (and many more) breathing is essential to managing + reducing stress.
When locked in a fight / flight response, the breath is short, fast and shallow (predominantly felt in the chest and shoulders).
When in a state of flow, joy and comfort, the breath is longer, deeper and slower (reaching into the low belly and expanding the full capacity of the lungs).
In this episode, Ashlee and I discuss the power of the breath for nervous system regulation. The breath can help us process intense emotions (like fear, anger, anxiety and shame), cultivate inner calm, navigate challenging life experiences, AND more!
Listen along to learn new ways to breathe, so you feel most present, connected and at ease - in all areas of your life - now :)
