You're Already Whole
Change, grief + mindful living with guest Mikaela Millington
Have you ever experienced immense joy and gratitude while also sensing deep sorrow or yearning for something no longer in your life?
When you think of change what comes to mind?
Is it memories of excitement? Is it memories of pain and loss?
Change is constant and it reminds us of the temporary nature of life.
When we resist change and grasp to the past or a future desire, we limit the endless source of love that’s always present and supporting us.
In this episode Mikaela Millington and I explore the intersection of grief, change + mindfulness. You’re gonna love it.
These are the key points to takeaway:
- practice pausing intentionally - within the pause we access peace + clarity
- practice non-attachment + neutrality - you are not your thoughts or any sensations you feel - you are the observer of your thoughts + emotions - get curious about them
- be open - allow life to surprise you (change + grief don't have to be hard experiences to navigate - there can be moments of fun, play and joy too - and in fact, play is a key ingredient to NS regulation / resilience)
- intentional rest is key to our health. As we prioritize and practice rest, we learn how much we crave it and benefit from it. Often 10min - 1 hour can give us a full reset and support us in navigating the variability of life with more trust and ease
- practice being where your feet are - the brain goes 90 miles a minute - our body moves much slower. It's ok to take time as you figure out you next step. Patience helps us to feel more at ease in the moment and in life
