Deadlines can get you started, but they rarely make you new. We dig into what real transformation looks like when the finish line disappears and your health becomes part of who you are. Instead of another six-week sprint, we offer a simple, durable framework—LIVE—that turns consistency into identity and results into a byproduct.

First, we unpack the trap of challenge culture and why the “end game” mindset fails most people. Short bursts create attention, not foundations. We contrast that with standards you can live by: small non-negotiables that survive busy seasons, travel, and stress. You’ll hear how leading yourself first beats outsourcing motivation, and why ownership makes perfectionism unnecessary. When plans break, standards flex instead of collapsing.

Then we take a deeper look at integrating health into identity. If you are a person who trains, you move even when the day is packed. If you are someone who nourishes well, protein, plants, and hydration become defaults. We share practical, evidence-based habits—progressive strength work, daily walking, protein-forward meals, better sleep—that deliver steady gains without mental overload. You’ll learn how to adapt as your body changes, why what worked at 30 won’t work the same at 60, and how to evolve tactics while holding a steady standard.

Finally, we reframe “maintenance” as winning. When most people decline year after year, holding your line for a decade means you improved. We connect health to what matters most—energy for family, focus at work, resilience under pressure—so goals serve your life, not the mirror. Expect clear takeaways: build standards, think long game, and engage fully in the process. Subscribe, share this with someone who’s tired of starting over, and leave a review with the one standard you’re committing to this week.

SPEAKER_01

Hello, hello, my people. Welcome back to the Live Transform Podcast Show. It is February 17th. So we are almost all the way through February already in 2026. So I hope you are accomplishing amazing things, that you are putting yourself first, at least above nonsense and unnecessary things that aren't making you better, aren't taking care of your family, aren't handling business because we do not have the time to waste. I mean, how crazy is it that 2025 flew by that fast? And now we're almost entering into month three of 2026. So time is flying, and every day that passes, we have a little bit less time to do the things that are required of us and are needed to build the life that we want. So I hope you guys are crushing it. And if you haven't been, now is a good time to start. So I'm not going to spend a lot of time here introducing things and small talk. I kind of want to get right into the topic, try to cut this one a little bit shorter than the previous few episodes have been since I've been back because again, I'm just kind of freelancing and maybe that's not the right word. Obviously, I'm not scripting this. Uh just kind of jotted down a couple notes to keep me somewhat on track on the actual topic of the episode. But I just wanted to straight talk with you guys and just start sharing my heart when it comes to, you know, not just health and fitness and nutrition as a whole, because that's obviously what I do for a living, but also just the perspective of a coach who has had the experience of working with numerous individuals and have also had to transform my own health and continue to learn how to do so through all the different challenges and injuries and changes in life that come from just, you know, living life and growing and having a family and the ups and downs and the highs and lows and all that. So uh just want to be able to share that with you guys. So, what I'm wanted to talk about on this episode, if you couldn't tell by the title, we are talking about transformation. This is the Live Transform podcast hosted by Transformed Health Initiative here in Moore, Oklahoma. And I wanted to talk about transformation a little bit because I know that term has different meanings for different people and it looks different. And what I've come to realize is a lot of people have a very narrow-minded short-term uh understanding of transformation. And I didn't really realize that when I named the company because what it meant to me is what it means now and what I'm gonna share with you guys. But now that I realize that you know there's different ideas of what transformation is and looks like, I want to just clear it up and make sure that we all are on the same page here. So, like I said, Live Transformed is our not just the name of the podcast, not just our movement, if you will, but it's an ethos, it's a way of life. So LIVE is an acronym, and I want to talk about that a little bit as far as what that acronym is, what it stands for, and how I feel like this separates the idea of transformation from kind of the common health and fitness idea of transformation to what it should be for here and to the rest of your life. So I want to start before I do that by saying this episode is not in any way to knock any other coaches or programs. Okay. I'm not here to dog challenges and, you know, uh six, you know, six weeks till six pack before a summer and all the different things people do. I'm not here to judge. That's just not my cup of tea. But, you know, there's a place for everything in fitness, is what I'm coming to learn. In this world, you have so many different people from different backgrounds with different understandings, different um preferences, different ideas. And so, you know, overall, pretty much there's something for everybody. And I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. Now, I don't agree with some tactics, some things I see being a downfall and a hindrance to a lot of people's progress and their lifestyle. But needless to say, whatever it takes to get you active, whatever it takes to get you moving, I don't care what that looks like, and whatever teaches you how to fuel your body better with proper food and nutrition, I don't care what really what that source is. I just hope to be able to provide a good source for people who, you know, want an evidence-based, experienced, time-tested approach that's very practical, real life, because we're real life people. I've got a I've got a wife, I've got kids, you know, I've got a home, I've got responsibilities there, I have a business to run. Like I'm right there with a lot of you guys as far as having a plate full, and I don't have the time to waste and the energy to devote to things that aren't effective, that aren't going to move the needle forward. So that's what I want to be able to provide people. So not knocking anybody else, you know, other coaches, trainers out there, do you. This is just what we do here. So live transform ethos. What does that stand for? L-I-V-E. So L stands for lead yourself first. Okay. So that's transformation, begins with ownership. No one else can do it for you. Okay. I is integrate health into who you are. So that's making healthier identity, not just a project that you're after. And that's really going to touch on today's episode. V stands for value what matters most, focus on legacy uh and the life that you were created to live. Okay. So not just having a vain pursuit of wanting to have a six-pack, that's great and all, and there's nothing wrong with it, but understand the bigger picture of what we're after here when it comes to life transformation. And then E is engage fully in the process, all right. Commit to consistent, evidence-based habits that anchor change. Okay. We're not here for shortcuts. We're not here for the fads. You know, if a fad diet gets you interested in nutrition and gets you paying attention to nutrition, maybe there's a time and place for that. But overall, we're about sustainable results that can be practiced without a lot of, you know, mental capacity, because most of us type A people, we're already overloaded with everything. We don't need a lot of complication. We need things simple, concrete, and directional. So we know exactly where we're going and what that needs to look like. So that is the live transform ethos. If you apply those four points, L, lead yourself first, I integrate health into who you are, V, value what truly matters, and E engage fully in the process, then you are going to become an unstoppable machine that is going to inspire everybody around you. I've seen it time and time again, and it's a beautiful thing. So that is what live transformed means. So transformation for us, and I'm going to kind of compare what we consider as transformation here with what would be considered like the six-week challenge mentality. Okay. So six-week challenge mentality versus life transformation mentality. And, you know, the six the six-week challenge mentality, most of us know what this looks like because most of us have done some sort of challenge, right? If it's a six-week, eight-week, twelve-week, whatever that may look like. And maybe it was from some online influencer or online coach who puts together a program and says, Hey, I'm going to give you your macros, I'm going to give you workouts, your cardio instructions, all these different things, whatever it comes with. And you're going to do this for eight weeks. And whoever finishes, then they win whatever the pot is that everybody wins, whether if it's money or gift cards, or gifts, or trips, or whatever it is, and that's the winner. Um, and that looks completely different. You know, again, there's so many different trainers and coaches out there that are doing different challenges. So there's a host of different styles, but it kind of all is the same thing at the end of the day. And it's what I call the in-game mentality. It keeps people trapped in the in-game mentality. So the in-game mentality, you know, is the idea that we're always looking for something to be completed or be done or be finished. So the in-game mentality is like, hey, I've got six weeks. All I got to do is commit to this hard stuff and these things I don't really want to do for the six-week period. Doesn't matter what happens after that because we're not even thinking about that. And I'm just trying to win this prize and be competitive and you know, whatever, whatever it is that talks us into doing it. And we're always looking for that end goal. And that's kind of the perspective that that builds. So, or it leads to, you know, like always looking for the next challenge or inspiration from somewhere instead of being standard driven. So instead of having standards that we've built around our lifestyle that progressively become more challenging as we get better, but still, we have our minimum non-negotiable standards, and that is what we should be building things off of. And the in-game mentality doesn't really allow for that because again, it's just I'm not worried about what I can sustain for the long term. I'm just worried about surviving this next six weeks and trying to win, or again, eight weeks, twelve weeks, whatever. So health, you know, at that point, health just kind of becomes like a game or like a competition instead of a lifestyle. So it's just, you know, looking for the next competition, the next challenge. And people repeat this cycle forever. You know, they're constantly going from one challenge to the next. And I've seen coaches who literally every year, every quarter, they run the same challenges and they pretty much have the same names in the hat every single time because people either fall off and they don't succeed, they don't even make it the time period. So they think, okay, next time it's my, you know, I'm gonna get it this time. Or they do make it all the way through and they have suboptimal results, and they're like, Well, I know I didn't really apply myself fully, so this next time, or they accomplish the time period, they end it, even maybe they're the winner, or they got phenomenal results, but because they had no foundation that was being built upon and they had no standards that they were locking in during that process, they end up going right back to their old lifestyle before that competition, undoing all their work, making their health even worse, and then they're looking for the next challenge. And this is a repetitive cycle, and a lot of people make a lot of money off of that model. And again, I'm not knocking in like do you, we all got a bills to pay. But although that generates revenue, it doesn't usually lead to long-term change, and that's where I have a problem with it because I've thought about it. You know, we have a private facility here in Moore. So, you know, I've thought about many times. Oh, I can just start hosting challenges, have people come in, they get assessments, they get training, they get nutrition, they get all these things. We we build a pot of some sort of reward or winnings, and then boom, we can make revenue, consistent, predictable revenue every month or every quarter, every year. And the more I've thought about this, the more I've worked with people and and just fell in love with actually helping people and wanting to see people overcome the things that have plagued so many of us for so many years. It really just kind of solidified my mentality as far as that's not for me, that's not my approach, that's not my style of coaching. I just don't do that. You know, it's just I'm that's just not for me. Um, so we don't practice that here at THI. We focus on lifestyle transformation or life transformation. So, like I said, nothing wrong if that's something that you like, if that gets you excited, if that gets you back in it after you fall off, whatever it is, again, to each his own. I'm not here to knock anybody, but it typically is a short-term solution for a long-term problem that's gonna stay a long-term problem if we don't have a long-term solution at the end of the day. So that's where we stand on transformation is this is a lifelong journey of consistently transforming ourselves into the best version of ourselves. And the reason why I say the best version of ourselves is because every day that we wake up is a new opportunity to get better. Because if we have an in-game goal, again, it goes back to that in-game mentality. If it's just my goal is I want to lose 20 pounds, well, what happens when you lose 20 pounds? Well, I want to get down under 150 pounds. Well, what happens when you're under 150 pounds? Well, I want to, you know, put on so much amount of muscle, or I want to look a certain way. Okay, well, what happens when you look that way? What happens when you get there? If you weren't there before and that hasn't been your lifestyle, and you weren't just you didn't just wake up like that, you likely had to do some things that were out of your comfort zone and out of your norm that you've built in order to achieve that. So by human nature, if you have nothing to fall back on or to move into next after that end game has approached, the chances of you resorting backwards is almost inevitable because that's human nature. We tend to go back to those things that are the most comfortable for us. So if it's more comfortable to sleep in than it is to get up to go get your workout in, once you've accomplished the goal and you're there, now you have a much higher risk of going back to sleeping in because it was never a standard to get up early and work out because this is what I do and this is what makes me feel good, and this is how I continue to strive to become the best version of myself. It was just I have to get up two hours early before work because I have the six-week challenge, or I have this 20 pounds to lose. And when this is done, I can't wait till it's done because when it's done, then I don't have to get up two hours early before work anymore. I can finally sleep in again. And you see how that mentality just leads you back to who you were to begin with because you never changed who you were. Okay, you're still the same person, you're just masking that with actions and things that you're applying for the short term because you want an end-term result. Not understanding that if you don't make changes in who you are, you're always going to resort back to the easiest path possible. You're always going to resort back to what got you in the situation that you're trying to get out of. This is this is imperative to being able to maintain results for the long term. I cannot express how important this is to think beyond your goals. Okay, goals are good. Set goals, you know, have a have a landing place every quarter, you know, every month, every year, always because that gives you a goal post to aim for. But if you think you're done when you get to that goal post, you you're you've already you're already in the wrong headspace. Because the truth is, look, I know what it feels like to be frustrated with your health, trust me. To feel like you're doing everything right, but nothing seems to be sticking. That's why our coaching isn't about perfection. It's about building a system that works even when life gets messy. At Transform Health Initiative, we help busy adults rebuild their health, rewire their habits, and redefine their identity without shame, without overwhelm, and without starting over every Monday. If you're tired of trying to do it all on your own, we're here when you're ready. All right, back to the episode. We can't really maintain anything, okay? As time goes on, we get older, our joints get older, our bodies wear down, you know, our energy starts to not be as good as it was when we were really really young and bouncing around. This is partly inevitable. So just the idea that I can maintain how I feel when I'm 30, when I'm 60, is not going to happen. But you can make sure you're not regressing and that you're not getting worse. That is what you can do. And that's actually going to require you to get better. Because if you keep doing what you did at 30, at 60, it's no longer going to work anymore. Okay. Your physiology has changed now. You're not the same person who you were when you were 30, physically. Mentally, you may be, mentally, you may have not advanced or matured any, but physiologically, you're not the same person anymore. Okay. Which means you have to apply yourself differently. The rules change. And if you can grasp that because you're constantly every day trying to get better, figuring out what do I need to do now? I know it worked last month, I know it worked two years ago, but what do I need to do today to get better? Because that's going to look different than it did two years ago. Then when you get to 60, no, it doesn't look like it did when you were 30, but you look like you have maintained your results because you've actually gotten better through that time period. And I was having this conversation with a client um actually this morning, and she was talking about how her daughter had said, you know, you've been going to the gym because she's been working out for I've known her for going on 20 years now, and she's um 15, 18, somewhere in there, but she's been active, lifting, working out, all that stuff all the time in between. Uh, and her daughter said, you know, you've been doing this for decades, and you still look the same. So I think you're doing something wrong. I think maybe you're you don't know what you're really doing in the gym. And I was like, that's an interesting perspective. That's what a lot of people are gonna think if they see someone quote unquote maintaining for years and years and years, they're gonna think, oh, well, maybe you're not really doing anything because you're not getting better. But here's the truth if you've maintained your fitness level, your physique for 10, 15, 20 years, you've 100% gotten better because the average person gets worse every single year. The average person gets fatter every year, gets sicker every year, gets less active every year, gets more aches and pains that limits their mobility and their ability to function in life every single year. So if you look like you've at least maintained for 10, 15, 20 years, that is absolutely excellent. Now, if we're talking about changing your body composition and having a different body composition than you did that 20 years ago, that's going to involve things like nutrition and different things like that, you know, cardio and making, you know, having a concrete goal that you're striving towards. But even if you've maintained, you've actually won because everybody else around you has gotten worse. All your peers have gotten sicker and worse, but yet you are still doing your thing and living on your terms. So that should be the goal for all of us, I think. Like our our all of our intentions shouldn't just be on the short term. Again, the short term helps us stay locked in to get to the long term, but you got to have the long-term vision in mind, the long game mentality, not the end game mentality. The only end that we have is when we take our last breath, and that's the end. So if you haven't taken your last breath, you have the obligation to yourself. Hear me out, guys. You have the obligation to yourself to get better today. Okay. Now, better may look different. That may look like getting more recovery because you're worn down and you're tearing yourself down and you need to recover. Okay, that's getting better. Because if you're over-trained, if you're overstressed, over stimulated, and you undo some of that, that's a health net positive. Okay. So that's still getting better. It looks different every day, but you could be doing something to get better mentally, physically, you know, reading, studying, um, uh practicing a new skill or a new talent or a new hobby, you know, picking up a sport, getting it in the gym, fine-tuning your nutrition, you know, making sure you stay hydrated. There's so many different avenues that you can focus on each and every day to get a little bit better, even if it's 0.01% better. Because somebody else can do the math. I'm not good at math, but you multiply that out over 20 years, that's still a very, very good progression at the rate of 0.1% every single day. Okay. I don't care what that looks like because again, everybody else, for the most part, is going the opposite direction. They're in the negative. So even if you stay barely above neutral, you're winning by far. Okay. So that's what I challenge you guys with this week is to live the ethos. Okay. Apply these four points, okay, these four ideas into your psychology so you can start transforming the way you think, because we have to start with the way that we think. Our bodies will line up with what our brain is doing. Okay. If you are limiting yourself mentally, you're definitely going to be limited physically. There's nothing that you can do physically that's going to undo the mental side of things. So you really have to lock in mentally, start transforming. The way you think, start renewing your mind, and then this will lead to physical transformation. The physical transformation is just a manifestation of what's happening on the inside. Okay. So we have L lead yourself first. Take accountability. Stop being your own worst enemy. Stop waiting on people to come save you. Okay. I integrate health into who you are. This is not something you're doing for the end game. This is not what you're doing for the next six weeks for bikini season. Because guess what? Bikini season is multiple months. And you can undo all the work you did all winter and spring in the first two weeks of summer if you get sloppy and you get lazy. Okay. So integrate health into who you are. It's no longer something you do, it's now the person that you are. V value what matters most. Okay. Focus on your legacy. This is bigger than just having a tight body and having a nice physique. Okay. How are you inspiring other people around you? How are you learning to take the traits that you're learning from your health journey, from your discipline in the gym and in your eating and in your lifestyle? How is this benefiting other areas of your life? Because it should be bleeding over into your work and into all other areas, your relationships and everything else you do. You should be leveling up if you're leveling up with your health first. And then E, engage fully in the process. Fully commit. Stop being half in, half out. Stop having one leg on one side of the fence and the other leg on the other side because guess what's happening with the fence? It's not something pretty, okay? And you're doing that to yourself. I'm doing it to myself if I don't hold myself accountable. So fully invest in the process, okay? It can look different. That doesn't always mean it's gonna be hard and challenging. It's just fully commit. If you're really wanting to transform, you're gonna do it. It doesn't matter the pace, it doesn't matter the rate, okay? If you truly want to change, you will change. All right. This is coming from somebody who's been obese, morbidly obese to fit and everything in between multiple times. If you want to change, you will change, okay? And if you need help with that, THI is here to help out. All right. So that's all I got for you guys today. I actually cut this one down pretty well, proud of myself. So um, that's it for today. In the meantime, in between time, before the next episode, until the next episode, do something good for yourself, something good for your health, something good for those you care about. And whatever you do, make sure you apply this live transform ethos and win on purpose. Talk with you next time.
