Spiritual Bookshelf Episode 25 : How to Succeed in a Fast-Changing World ? Part 3

飛利浦 Phillip

Hi friends, and welcome back to the podcast!

Today, we’re wrapping up our series on The Greatest Salesman in the World by Og Mandino. We’re diving into the final four scrolls—Scrolls VII through X—and they’re all about building character, living with intention, and staying true to our purpose.

Let’s jump right in with Scroll VII:“I will laugh at the world.”

Now, this scroll is one of my favorites. Why? Because it reminds us not to take life—or ourselves—too seriously.

Og Mandino tells us: “With laughter and happiness, I become a magnet for others.”

That means joy attracts people. When we smile, when we laugh, when we stay lighthearted—even in tough times—we build stronger relationships and a better mindset.

So, how do we live this out? We start by learning to laugh at our own mistakes instead of beating ourselves up. We accept that setbacks are part of life. Instead of complaining, we chuckle and say, “Well, that was a learning moment!”

This simple shift helps us bounce back faster and spread positivity.

Here’s something to try: When you’re feeling down, watch a funny video, talk to a cheerful friend, or just smile on purpose. It may feel silly at first, but it works.

Now, onto Scroll VIII: “Today I will multiply my value a hundredfold.”

This scroll teaches us to grow every day—mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and even financially.

Mandino writes: “I am not on this earth by chance. I am here for a purpose and that purpose is to grow into a mountain, not to shrink to a grain of sand.”

Remember: Your value is not fixed. You can multiply it every single day.

Now let’s talk about Scroll IX:“I will act now.”

This scroll hits home for anyone who’s ever procrastinated. (And let’s be honest—we’ve all been there.)

Mandino says: “Action is the food and drink which will nourish my success.”

Thinking, planning, and dreaming are all good—but they don’t bring results until we act. So the phrase “I will act now” becomes our personal motto.

Start imperfectly—just start.

Action creates momentum. And once you start, things get easier. Confidence grows. Opportunities show up.

So let’s choose action over hesitation.

And finally, Scroll X:“I will pray for guidance.”

This scroll is deeply spiritual—and a beautiful reminder that we’re not alone on this journey. Mandino writes: “I will pray, not for things, but for guidance.”

It’s not about asking for success or wealth, but for wisdom, direction, and strength to do what’s right.

Whether you believe in God, the universe, or simply in a higher purpose—this scroll reminds us to stay connected to something greater than ourselves.

It’s a call to humility. To say: “I don’t have all the answers—but I’m open to being guided.” A simple daily prayer might be:

“Show me how to serve today. Help me act with love, patience, and courage.”

When we lead from that space, everything changes. Our heart opens. Our focus sharpens. And we live with greater peace.

So there you have it—Scrolls VII through X. Let’s quickly recap:

•Laugh at the world. Don’t take yourself too seriously.

•Multiply your value every day through growth.

•Act now—don’t wait.

•Pray for guidance and walk with purpose.

Each of these scrolls builds on the others.Together, they guide us to become not just better salespeople, but better human beings.

And as Og Mandino reminds us at the end of the book:“Failure will never overtake me if my determination to succeed is strong enough.”

So whatever your goal is—keep going. Stay faithful. Stay joyful. Keep growing and keep showing up.
