Welcome to the Muscles and Mindset Revolution podcast. Today, my special guest is my daughter, Sophie. Hello, Sophie. Hi. So Sophie, what is your favourite thing about being seven?
Sophie:I get to go in the pool by myself now.
Anne:Oh, that is a good one. What do you think my job is?
Sophie:You have lots of people that work with you. Yeah. You do stuff like gymnastics?
Anne:What do I do with those people?
Sophie:You exercise?
Anne:I do exercise, yeah. Do you think I help people? Yeah. If you could invent a new holiday, what would it be?
Sophie:Hmm.
Anne:Animal Day. Oh, okay. What would we do on animal day?
Sophie:You would celebrate animals by picking up garbage. And, if you have a pet, you would give them some kind of present.
Anne:Oh, I love that idea.
Sophie:Yeah.
Anne:Okay, Sophie, what's your favourite food to eat?
Sophie:Sometimes macaroni, sometimes quesadillas. If it's in the morning, oatmeal, waffles, or pancakes,
Anne:eggs.
Sophie:For lunch, probably peanut butter and jam, or grilled cheese.
Anne:What do I eat all the time?
Sophie:Scrambled
Anne:eggs. Scrambled eggs.
Sophie:And spinach.
Anne:and spinach. What's your favourite food to make With me together?
Sophie:Hmm. That's hard Cookies. Yeah, I thought you might.
Anne:We made tzatziki.
Sophie:Oh yeah, we did make tzatziki.
Anne:What does eating healthy mean to you?
Sophie:Eating strawberries, blueberries, cucumbers, broccoli.
Anne:If you could make up a new rule about food, what would it be?
Sophie:You could choose if you want to use a fork or a spoon or your ham.
Anne:Okay. That's a good rule. Um, have you ever heard anybody say something about food that didn't make sense to you?
Sophie:No.
Anne:How do you feel after you eat a really good meal?
Sophie:Happy.
Anne:Yeah?
Sophie:If it's the opposite, then sad.
Anne:What's your favorite way to move your body?
Sophie:Usually running around. He usually hangs upside down. He goes outside with me. You go
Anne:outside with me.
Sophie:Sometimes.
Anne:I guess you're at school.
Sophie:So, I don't
Anne:If we could do any fun activity together, what would it be?
Sophie:Art.
Anne:Art, okay.
Sophie:Or Lego.
Anne:What is something that you're really proud of?
Sophie:How good I am at drawing.
Anne:Yes!
Sophie:Building in Minecraft and building Lego.
Anne:Yes, I'm proud of you for those things too. What do you do when something feels really hard?
Sophie:If I'm starting something and it gets kind of hard, I go do something else. And then when I figure out in my mind what I'm gonna do, I'll go back to it.
Anne:That's a good strategy.
Sophie:Try to do it again.
Anne:Do you take a break?
Sophie:Yeah.
Anne:That's a very good strategy. How do you manage when you feel big emotions?
Sophie:Like angry, mad, sad.
Anne:What do you do?
Sophie:Well, if I'm sad, I like hugs, watching movies. If I'm angry or mad, I usually hit my pillow or scream into my pillow.
Anne:Yeah, I love those ideas. How do you cheer yourself up when you're feeling sad?
Sophie:I usually tell myself jokes, ask other people funny questions and see what they say and I might think it's funny.
Anne:I love that idea. What's something you love about yourself? What's awesome about Sophie?
Sophie:I love dinosaurs and dragons and, unicorns.
Anne:So maybe you love that You're interesting. You an interesting person.
Sophie:Mm-hmm Okay. Even though dinosaurs used to exist, but now they don't. And dragons and unicorns don't exist.
Anne:You love them anyway. And you love that about yourself. What do you love about the way you look?
Sophie:I have a good nose.
Anne:You do have a good nose. It's a perfect nose. It's good at smelling. It looks great.
Sophie:If
Anne:If you had a friend, who wasn't feeling happy or confident, what would you tell them?
Sophie:I'd tell them a joke. I think, have I been in this situation before? Has this happened to me before? And I can help them with some advice that I used for myself.
Anne:I love that. is there anything else that you want to share?
Sophie:I'm not sure.
Anne:That's all I got.
