- The 12th Judicial Circuit Guardian ad Litem Program—serving Sarasota, Manatee, and DeSoto counties—recruits, trains, and supports volunteers who advocate in court and beyond for abused, neglected, or abandoned children. Volunteers receive training on advocacy, child development, cultural sensitivity, and more, without needing legal credentials

2. Become a Foster Parent
- Heart Gallery of Sarasota helps connect prospective foster families with children in need. To foster, you must be 21+, complete a 21‑hour training class, pass background checks, have stable housing and income, and appropriate sleeping space for the child
