Lately, I’ve been feeling genuinely energized by Adam Grant’s book Hidden Potential: The Science of Achieving Greater Things.

What I appreciate most is how it reframes “potential.” Instead of treating it as something fixed or innate, Grant shows that growth is largely about creating the right conditions: how we practice, who we learn from, and how we respond to setbacks.

That shift has been quietly making me happier.

It’s taken pressure off perfection and replaced it with curiosity. I’m focusing less on outcomes and more on effort, systems, and progress—however small. Celebrating learning instead of just results has made growth feel more sustainable and, honestly, more human.

If you’ve ever felt behind or wondered whether you’re “living up” to something, this book is a helpful reminder: potential isn’t a ceiling—it’s something we build over time.
