Lately, one of my biggest sources of happiness has been… pickleball.
What started as “I’ll try it once” quickly turned into something I genuinely look forward to every week.
And it turns out there’s real science behind why it feels so good.
Studies show that racket sports like pickleball can improve cardiovascular health, coordination, balance, cognitive function, and even longevity. But beyond the physical benefits, I think the biggest impact is mental.
Pickleball combines:
✔️ Movement
✔️ Social connection
✔️ Fresh air
✔️ Competition
✔️ Laughter
In a world where so much of our day happens behind screens, there’s something powerful about unplugging for an hour and simply playing.
It’s also a reminder that joy matters.
Not everything we do has to be productive, monetized, optimized, or strategic. Sometimes the healthiest thing we can do is find activities that make us feel energized, connected, and happy.
For me lately, that’s pickleball.
