Gimultamas the Hayem for Gimultamas talks about a sigh that a Jew has for a difficult spiritual situation. But the rabbis there advised against this, since it was not a Jewish symbol. The Rebbe then pulled out the book of Eof, Job, from his bookshelf, and showed her chapter 29, verse 18, that says, I shall multiply my days like the Chil. And the Rebbe explained to her that the Medras describes Chil as a phoenix, a bird that lives for thousands of years and then dies, and is later resurrected from its ashes. Clearly, the Rebbe said to her, It's a Jewish symbol. Mrs. Lipshis was delighted and went forward with her husband's last project. The Rebbe found a positive when others saw a negative. How fitting of a metaphor of life returning from the ashes. The Rebbe, in his inspired way, brought new hope to this broken widow. And this same theme he did for the entire Jewish people, raising the spirit of our nation from the Holocaust to a new invigorating life for our people and bringing us closer to Hashem. And his influence is even greater when his physical presence is not with us anymore. Rebbe stands for Raish Bine Israel, the head and leader of the Jewish people. And the Rebbe did not just have followers, he created leaders in all of us, and he continues to guide us and elevate us through his teachings and spiritual influence. And so, on Gimel Thomas, try to add one good deed and learn extra in his merit, in his chus, to give him nachas, which will lead to a liyah for the Rebbe and elevation to you as well, leading us to greet Mashiach, the greatest wish of the Rebbe.
