You know about small letters and big letters in the Torah… Do you know about a broken letter?
The Vov in שלום is broken and the Midrash says this word here has the same value as Moshiach - when Eliyahu who is Pinchas will announce it…we will have complete-שלם- peace שלום
& Maybe this is why the Vov is broken by the verse of the bris because after the Bris the baby is שלם - complete
Roll the Torah to Pinchas if you’re buying a used Torah since it is read often
The most important verse in the entire Torah is about the daily sacrifice קרבן תמיד
Which was sadly stopped on the 17th day of Tammuz
• this verse connects you to GD through daily prayer
• the same applies to investing time into your marriage and learning and exercise, doing them daily, cements your commitment to it!
The Haftorah talks about an almond tree that takes 21 days to blossom corresponding to the 3 weeks that we mourn the destruction of the 2 Bais Hamikdash.
Yet It ends with Hope telling us about the everlasting love and bond between us and GD…. we continue to serve Hashem and ask for Moshiach & the rebuilding of the 3rd Bais Hamikdash when 17 Tammuz will be turned into feast and joy!!!🙏🔥
Gichabis, Parshas Pinchas, Shiva Asser Vitamas. There are certain letters in the Tera that are small, like the Aleph in the beginning of Vaikra, and some letters that are oversized, like the Ion of Shema. But did you ever hear about or see a broken letter in the Tera? Well, it exists. And it is seen in the beginning of our parsha. After Pinchus killed Zimri and Qasbi, defending Hashem's honor by acting like a zealot, Hashem rewards Pinchas by giving him a promotion to become a Kayen, with the words Hinini Nisinloi Esbrisi Shalem, and the word Shalem, the Vov is broken. And if these words seem familiar, they are, since we say them by every bris when the baby gets a promotion and becomes part of the Bene Isral, just like Pinchus got an upgrade. So why is the letter V broken? In my humble opinion, it's because the center of the letter Vav gets a chop like the bris. And the Gemur answers that the Kaya needs to be complete, Shalim, when doing the Avaida, the service. So the letter Vav is chopped to make the word shalom, peace to Shalim, complete. And today, Shiva Asabatamus, when we are fasting and focusing on the Besamiddash, the Medra says that Pinchas is destined to be Eliahuanavi, who will inform us on Mashiach's coming. And the word Shalim peace has the Gamatria of Zehu Mashiach. This is Mashiach. And so when Mashiach comes, we will be Shalim complete. And maybe that is why El Yahweh shows up at every brisk to hear again the words that were blessed to Pinchas because they are the same person. Wow. On a separate note, if you want to buy a used Seferter, roll it to Parshis Pinchas, since we read from it often on all the holidays, because most of the holiday mafta kabanas come from Pinchas, so you can see if there's any wear and tear on the cloth. And we also read about the Karbant Tamid, the daily sacrifice in the morning and afternoon that was sadly stopped on Shiva Asur Batamus. And that is one of the five reasons why we fast. And the Medra says that the Pasuk of Essa Keves Al Echad, describing the daily sacrifice, is the most important verse in the entire Terah. Why? It's because of the connection one gets with the daily sacrifices and nowadays our daily prayers to Hashem that connects you to God and that solidifies your relationship to Hashem. This also applies to investing time into your marriage and for that matter, learning and exercise. Spending time on these daily cements your commitment to it, to Hashem, to your family, and to good habits. Do them daily. This is a lesson from the most important Pasuk in the Terah. And this week's Hafter talks about Yomiyahu, Jeremiah's vision of an almond tree that blossoms in 21 days. These 21 days correspond to the three weeks of mourning of the destruction of the two base hamitash called Bain Hamitsarim, and it ends with hope, telling us about the everlasting love of Hashem to the Jewish people. And the message is clear that even in the most trying times, there still is an unbreakable bond between us and Hashem, and also the Bine Israel and Amisrael, the land of Israel. Hashem did not abandon the Jewish people, and we still serve Hashem daily and ask for Mashiach and the rebuilding of the Bay Samiddash Hashlishi, the third and final Basamiddash in Yushalaim Irakadesh, the holy city, and may the days of Shiva Asbitamas and Tishab go from fast days to days of feast and joy. Amen. Good shabas.
