A guided meditation for the moments when you find yourself wondering why you still miss them. Welcome, I'm Kate. These are the words I once longed to hear, and I offer them to you now for your support and reflection. As always, this meditation is not a substitute for therapy, medical care, or other mental health treatment. Settling in now to a quiet and comfortable place. Somewhere you feel supported, not likely to be disturbed. Carving this time out just for you. Not broken. Missing them does not mean you want to go back. It does not mean you imagined what happened. It means something in you formed a connection, trusted, loved. Something in you cared and carried hope. And settling in now a little more into the chair or couch or floor that's supporting you, grounding into the earth below, bringing your attention to a gentle breath in, and a gentle breath out, a gentle breath in, and a gentle breath out, beginning to let go of any of the busyness of the day, any of the tension you may bring with you today, softening the muscles in your face around the eyes, the jaw, loosening the shoulders, the neck, softening the arms, the hands, the chest, the belly, softening the hips, the legs, the knees, the feet, and grounding again into the breath, noticing the breath as an anchoring tool to help us arrive into this moment, a gentle breath in, a gentle breath out, a gentle breath in, a gentle breath out, and arriving a little more fully now, this mind and body, this human being having a human experience, this moment, this breath, just this. Still allowed to want better for yourself, and still allowed to miss them. Both may be present. Perhaps it's an ache or a pull. Perhaps it's a quiet longing. Tuning into that sensation in your body, sitting with it, letting that sensation be here without judging it, without pushing it away. And if they are not the right fit right now, simply letting them drift by.
