If your body feels exhausted but your mind still cannot stop…

If your thoughts race the moment the world becomes quiet…

If emotional exhaustion has followed you into the nighttime hours…

this gentle guided sleep meditation is for you.

Tonight’s meditation offers calming emotional companionship for women healing after emotionally harmful relationships who struggle with overthinking, hypervigilance, emotional exhaustion, and difficulty fully resting.

Inspired by Yoga Nidra practices for nervous system restoration and deep relaxation, this extended sleep meditation gently guides awareness through the body, breath, and sensory grounding to help the nervous system soften toward sleep.

Inside this meditation:

  • calming body awareness
  • gentle nervous system settling
  • breath awareness for overthinking
  • emotional reassurance for nighttime anxiety
  • guided relaxation for emotional exhaustion
  • long peaceful music continuation for sleep

You do not need to carry everything tonight, dear one.

For now, the invitation is simply to rest.

This meditation is offered as gentle emotional companionship and reflection only. It is not a substitute for therapy or professional mental health care.

Sleep can feel difficult after periods of stress. A guided sleep meditation following emotional exhaustion and overthinking. Welcome. I'm Kate. Tonight's meditation is a special place for rest. A space for softening. A space where nothing is required from you. A body can settle slowly here. A mind can loosen its grip here. And you do not need to force anything to happen. As you lie down now, allowing the body to become comfortable, safe, cozy, perhaps adjusting the blankets, adjusting pillows, adjusting arms and legs and body to rest naturally. Allowing the eyes to close whenever that feels comfortable. The mind and body have carried so much, so much thinking, so much labor, so much vigilance, so much monitoring, so much trying to keep the peace and to hold everything together. Tonight, the invitation in this moment, in this space, is simply to rest. You've done enough now. It's okay to rest. Gently now bringing awareness to the places beneath you that are supporting your weight, the bed beneath the legs, the bed beneath the hips, the back, the shoulders, the head, you are being supported now, held by the bed beneath you, the blankets and pillows around you held by the earth beneath you, held by this moment, breathing slowly, softly, easily, nowhere to rush, no need to concentrate, simply listening, simply noticing, and now awareness begins moving slowly through the body. Awareness moves to the right hand, right thumb, second finger, third finger, fourth finger, fifth finger, palm of the hand, back of the hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, upper arm, shoulder, right side of the chest, right waist, right hip, right thigh, knee, calf, ankle, heel, sole of the foot, top of the foot, right big toe, second toe, third toe, fourth toe, fifth toe, entire right side of the body resting heavy, safe quiet. Awareness moves now to the left hand, left thumb, second finger, third finger, the fourth finger, fifth finger, palm of the hand, back of the hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, upper arm, shoulder, left side of the chest, left waist, left hip, left thigh, knee, calf, ankle, heel, sole of the foot, top of the foot, left big toe, second toe, third toe, fourth toe, fifth toe, entire left side of the body, softening, settling, safe, quiet. Awareness moves now to the back of the body, back of the left foot, back of the right foot, back of the left leg, back of the right leg, back of the left hip, back of the right hip, pelvis, lower back, middle back, left shoulder blade, right shoulder blade, neck, back of the head, the whole back of the body resting against the bed beneath you, supported, held, safe, heavy, quiet. Weirdness moves now to the front of the body, forehead, eyes, left cheek, right cheek, left jaw, right jaw, tongue, throat, left side of the chest, right side of the chest, middle of the chest, upper abdomen, lower abdomen, pelvis, left hip, right hip, front of the left thigh, right of the left thigh, left knee, right knee, left shin, right shin, left foot, right foot, the entire front of the body softening with breath, breathing in, softening, breathing out, settling, air entering, air leaving, chest rising, chest falling, belly rising, belly falling, belly breathing. You are safe here, body softening, shoulders loosening, jaw softening, chest easing, belly relaxing, legs heavier, feet resting, hands resting, body resting, mind resting. Softening resting quiet held, loved safe, supported.
