Ever been told you’re “too much” or “too weird,” and felt your joy flicker? We recorded a raw, bonus check-in about what happens when we finally stop shrinking and let our playful, goofy, fully-alive selves take up space again. I talk openly about how subtle shame and old conditioning trained me to quiet my sparkle, how I left a toxic relationship without turning it into a blame fest, and why reclaiming fun is not frivolous—it’s a daily act of self-respect.

We trace the arc from feeling embarrassed about being silly to recognizing it as programming picked up from partners and even family. That realization becomes a doorway to accountability: asking what I’m really feeling, calling out my own stories, and choosing better patterns on purpose. I share how “know your own truth” isn’t just a tattoo—it’s a practice. Some days that looks like studying and getting things done; other days it means dancing in the kitchen and laughing loud. Both are me. Both are allowed.

You’ll hear practical ways to bring back joy without pretending life is perfect: naming the messy middle, seeking micro-moments that lift you, and building small rituals that keep your light on bright. We talk about calling off the inner critic, refusing to make excuses, and letting people wonder what’s going on—because alignment always looks a little sparkly from the outside. If you’re ready to stop dimming, reclaim your voice, and give yourself permission to have more fun, this one’s for you.

If this resonated, tap follow, share it with a friend who needs a reminder to shine, and leave a quick review so more people can find their way back to themselves.

Bonus Intro And Setup

SPEAKER_00

This is Get It Got It Girl. And I was just finishing up my episode that you may have just listened to. And this is going to be the bonus track for the week. And let me just, oh, I'm still recording. I'm recording on my just on my phone so I can see what I look like when I'm recording. And I forgot what

Owning Authentic Goofy Joy

SPEAKER_00

I was doing. And I was just celebrating and going goofy and being silly and actually being my real, true, authentic self. And it felt so good just for that moment. I'm like, ah, she's in there. You're in there. You're still there. I'm still here. I was just under some crap. But I'm still there. You're still underneath. You're still there. You're still here. Yeah. I would just wanted to tell you that with this bonus.

From Shame To Conditioning

SPEAKER_00

And then I so when I'm acting goofy and I'm like, yeah, and I'm like, oh my God, I felt like ashamed. And I have done that before. And it's actually not ashamed. I was controlled and trained. And I let that happen to myself. I let myself be, what do you call? Oh, brainwashed. Yeah.

Leaving A Toxic Relationship

SPEAKER_00

So in my past relationships, and most recently the last one in 2024, where I ended and left my ex. So I don't want to label him either. But yeah, I left him. I would be goofy and silly. And even around some people, some of my family, they're like, you're so weird. You're a weirdo. What are you doing? And I'm like, oh

Choosing Not To Hold Back

SPEAKER_00

my God. And so I would just kind of hold back a little. I'm not holding back. I'm all in, baby. You get all of me. Sometimes I'm ready to party. Sometimes I'm ready to study, ready to read books, but I am silly. Underneath I am goofy, goofy, goofy. I let some of the stresses of the day take over who I am. And you know, I'm human. I I feel pain sometimes. I feel hurt sometimes. I go through the emotions. And but underneath, I am done doing all that because I need more fun in my life. And I'm sure, ladies and men and whoever are listening, you need more fun in your life. Try to think about when you were fun. And they say about like midlife, like, oh, you're gonna go back to when you were 15 or 16. Um, no, excuse me, I do not. Well, some of the stuff was fun, but I do not want to go back to the girl that picked up this 36-year toxic, unhealthy pattern of dating

Midlife, Patterns, And Growth

SPEAKER_00

the wrong people. And that's where I was toxic.

Radical Honesty And Accountability

SPEAKER_00

So I have been spending over a year working on my personal growth, like really, really, really grinding and working on it and really being honest and open with myself. And I have the tattoo, know your own truth. So I will put myself in check and be like, okay, is that what you're feeling? Is that what's going on? Is that what happened? Yeah. And sometimes, no, I gotta correct myself. I do try to stop making excuses. Oh, I want to be accountable. I am accountable. I chose this life.

Embracing Nuance And Good Moments

SPEAKER_00

I got myself here through circumstances. I can get myself out of this mess, messy middle. That everything isn't a mess, though. It's not one or the other. It's not like your life can be so, so bad and then not good at all. There are still good moments, and it feels great to be lifted up.

Keep The Bonus Going

SPEAKER_00

So I just wanted to quick share this raw little bonus. I do like to do this, and going forward, I'm gonna keep doing the extra little bonus because I feel like it's more relaxed. Okay, guys. Well, I just wanted to get that out there because I thought, oh my god, this is so important. And I always hear this and I love it. Don't dim your shark, don't dim, don't dim your sparkle. Glitter all over, glitter everywhere. Shine, shine, shine.

Don’t Dim Your Sparkle

SPEAKER_00

Let people look at you and be like, what is going on with her? I'd rather be that person. What's going on with her? She's having fun, she's enjoying herself, she's dancing, she's talking, she's speaking from her truth, she's trying to empower other women, she's empowering herself.

Joy, Empowerment, And Sign-Off

SPEAKER_00

And right now, I am like doing my thing. Like, yes, yes, yes. Okay, guys, I hope this helps. And you guys have a great week. Thank you, thank you so much for listening to this little bonus. Bump, bump, bump. Get it, got it, girl. Have a great week, guys. We will see you on Monday where I will be back. Yeah, get it, got it, girl. Get it, girls, get it, ladies, get it, men, get it, all of you, all the people, get it, get what you can. Have a great week.
