Adam Dorr directs our research program and leads our research team. He is an environmental social scientist and technology theorist whose recent RethinkX publications have focused on the disruption of the global energy sector by new energy generation and storage technologies, as well as the implications of the energy, transportation and food disruptions for climate change.

Adam regularly presents RethinkX's work on stage, radio, podcasts, and television and has more than a decade of teaching, lecturing, and public speaking experience.

He completed his MS at the University of Michigan's School for the Environment and Sustainability and his PhD at UCLA's Luskin School of Public Affairs.

Jeff Burnstein is President of the Association for Advancing Automation (A3), representing 1350+ global companies in robotics, AI, vision, motion control, and automation technologies. Joining A3 in 1983, he became President in 2007. A frequent media commentator and global speaker, Burnstein addresses automation’s impact on jobs and its future beyond factories. He serves on the Executive Board of the International Federation of Robotics, the University of Michigan Robotics Advisory Board, and Visit Detroit’s Customer Advisory Board. A lifelong Metro Detroit resident, he began his career promoting downtown Detroit. In 2023, he received the Engelberger Robotics Award for Leadership, the “Nobel Prize of Robotics.” A3’s Automate Show is North America’s largest robotics trade show, with 850+ exhibitors and 40,000 registrants. A3 also hosts the industry’s largest networking event and leading conferences on robotics safety, humanoid robots, and AI.

Jeff Winter is the Vice President of Business Strategy for Critical Manufacturing, where he leads strategic growth initiatives and business development while positioning the company as a global leader in MES technology. With 20 years of experience working for different industrial automation product and solution providers, Jeff has a unique ability to simplify and communicate complex concepts to a wide range of audiences, educating and inspiring people from the shop floor up to the executive board room.  Jeff is also highly active in the Industry 4.0 community. He serves on the Executive board for International Society of Automation (ISA), the International Board of Directors for MESA (Manufacturing Enterprise Solutions Association), a U.S. registered expert for the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) as a member of TC 65, and as a Smart Manufacturing Advisor to CESMII.

Kevin Bowers is the Association for Manufacturing Technology’s Vice President of Research: With over 25 years of experience in manufacturing across sales, operations, training, and support, he understands all aspects of our members' businesses. He also led research for industrial equipment and field services at TSIA, where they focused on benchmarking, advisory, and consulting to improve members' business outcomes. Kevin's deep-rooted industry knowledge and technical expertise, combined with his experience in actionable research, make him uniquely qualified to take our Research and Consulting team at AMT to the next level. He also serves on the executive board of NIMS (National Institute for Metalworking Skills). Kevin graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Japanese and spent several years living and working in Japan.

Mike Nager is a recognized Top 100 Influencer for Industry 4.0 and the Industrial Internet of Things, bringing unique insights from his experiences inside over 500 manufacturing facilities. As an electrical engineer and author of multiple books including "All About Smart Manufacturing" and "The Smart Student's Guide to Smart Manufacturing," he has established himself as a leading voice in smart manufacturing transformation and workforce development. His expertise bridges the technical and human elements of modern manufacturing, making him ideally positioned to explore whether humans or digital systems represent the real bottleneck in today's Industry 4.0 landscape.

Prasad Satyavolu is a seasoned leader with over 30 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, specializing in digital transformation, innovation, and operations. He is currently the Americas Lead for Industry X Digital Manufacturing & Operations at Accenture.  

Prasad has a proven track record of incubating and scaling new offerings, capabilities, solutions, and businesses in the areas of industrial internet of things (IIoT), Data monetization and Artificial Intelligence with specific focus in core value chain functions. He holds a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) certification from MIT Professional Education, which enables him to quantify and optimize the environmental impacts of manufacturing processes and products. He is also a frequent speaker and author on topics such as connected phenomenon, causal AI, innovation and large-scale transformation programs.  

Stephanie Hun is Director of Business Development at FlatironDragados Canada, leading client engagement and strategy nationwide. With 20+ years of experience in consulting and heavy civil construction, she focuses on advancing public and private client strategies, collaborative contracts, and solutions for complex infrastructure projects across sectors like transportation, aviation, ports, tunnels, mining, and renewable energy. An advocate for women in construction, Stephanie mentors young professionals and serves as President of Canadian Construction Women, national co-chair for the Women’s Infrastructure Network Awards, and a committee member for Women in Roadbuilding. She is also a Board Director for the BC Construction Roundtable. Born and raised in Vancouver and a former New Yorker, Stephanie enjoys personal fitness, garment making, learning new instruments, and exploring foreign destinations with her family.

Ujjwal Kumar is the former Group President of Teradyne Robotics, an advanced robotics platform which includes Universal Robots and Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR), the pioneers and global market leaders of human-scale collaborative and autonomous mobile robots. Ujjwal has a 25-year career spanning multiple industries and major multi-national corporations, including General Motors, General Electric, and Honeywell. Prior to this role Ujjwal was President and CEO of Honeywell's Process Solutions business.

Ujjwal has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business, a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology.
