Kaitlyn (KK)

In this episode, we're clearing the air and maybe your lymphatic system too. Kathy joins KK and Jenny to break down what detoxification actually means at the cellular level, why your body might be asking for support, and how to hit reset after the holidays. Welcome to Rooted in Rising, a podcast by Into the Woods Wellness. I'm Caitlin Keneally, coming to you from our nature-inspired sanctuary in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Grab your tea, get comfortable, and let's dive into real talk that empowers your healing journey. We got another newbie on the podcast.

Jenny

I feel like this is a thing.

Kaitlyn (KK)

You can take my spots.

Kaitlyn (KK)

Everybody else has survived it. So we're glad you're here with us because today, which I think is super fitting, we're talking about detox. Yes, we are. And Kathy is our guru at that here at Into the Woods.

Jenny

Yes, absolutely. Kathy, your official title is Wellness Facilitator because you wear so many hats in helping the team, helping clients that are coming through the front door. We're going to dive more into obviously what you do. But before we do that, knowing that you've been a part of Into the Woods from the beginning, I just want to find out a little bit more about you. Obviously, share it with the people that are listening as they can get to know the team and get to understand the services and offerings and really the mindset here. I think understanding and getting to know the team is a huge piece of that.

Kathy

Sure.

Jenny

So what drew you to wildness?

Kathy

So we're talking 20 some years ago. I worked retail for many years and then decided I needed to do something else. And what was I gonna do? So went on Moraine Park's website and I was like, what can I do? And the chiropractic technician slash wellness curriculum intrigued me. So I was like, let's see what this is all about. So I ended up going to a two-year program at Moraine Park for chiropractic technician. Awesome. From there, I worked at a chiropractic wellness center for 18 years and that's what I really like to do. I really like helping people, seeing people get better. Yeah. And then Katie, I heard she was opening a wellness center and I wanted to spread my wings a little bit. So I connected with her, and here I am.

Jenny

The rest is history. And it continues to unfold. Yeah. That's awesome. You are spreading your wings, right? You are taking on new things. What is it that keeps you passionate and excited about wellness?

Kathy

I think really just seeing people getting better. And sometimes, unfortunately, we're the last resource. They've been everywhere. They've been to every doctor and they don't have answers. And I love that we can 99% of the time help them and really see them get better, get off medications. Yeah. See the spark. See the glow in their face again. And just getting them to feel better, feel themselves.

Jenny

Yeah, that's beautiful. There there is nothing like feeling. Like if you have answers, or maybe if you don't have exact answers, I feel better, right? Like I feel like I have a pathway forward. I think that's the huge piece.

Kathy

Right. You're giving them hope. Yeah. Somebody's listening to me. Yes. And they see that.

Jenny

I love that. That's great. We can help. So getting a little personal then, do you have any pivotal moments in your wellness journey that have influenced how you show up or what you're passionate about?

Kathy

You know, I was thinking about this and nothing specific. Sure. But of course, along the way over the years, it's menopause and had my times of anxiety. So just really realizing how much nutrition plays such a big role in all of it. Nutrition can really turn your genes on or off. And it's always interesting to me. Sure. You know, to just see what it can do and how it can help people and how it's helped me. So then when it helps me, then I can share that.

Jenny

Yeah. It sounds like wellness has been a grounding presence in your life and supported you through the normal ups and downs. I don't think we need a pivotal moment, truly. Right. I think that's great though, that it's just been there, that foundation for helping you through everything. And then I'm sure helping many others in your life. Well, we're gonna dive right in today. That was our warm-up because we have a lot to talk about when it comes to looking at detox. We're coming off the holiday season. Obviously, it's been a couple of weeks, and I think a lot of people might think, oh, I had maybe a few too many sugar cookies or, you know, a little bit too much food with all the gatherings or beverages. And we're not here to judge. And there might be reasons, if you're feeling certain ways, to look at a detox, right? And there's, I mean, there's reasons to detox all year round, just based on the world we live in. But I really want today to help people walk away with an understanding of why detox, what is it, and then dive further into some of the offerings that you in particular, Kathy, address. So I know there is a lot out there right now. If you were to Google detox, you know, it it's loaded and it a lot of it is diet culture, and we haven't been having that conversation here. There's so much noise.

Kathy

We really just want, yeah, get to the root cause, heal the body from the inside out. So getting rid of the toxins, adding nutrients, if you can heal your cells and your body pretty much heals itself.

Jenny

Yeah, it has the pathways to step in and and do what it's naturally programmed to do. Yeah.

Kathy

Exactly. If it's giving, if you give the body what it needs, it can heal itself.

Jenny

So a lot of what when I was researching a little bit, it was like juice cleanses. If that's what you want to know about, it's it's not the pathway here at Into the Woods. And it's not an extreme amount of deprivation or fasting. That's not at all what detox is here. So we'll dive into more than that, but really jumping into root cause, why does our body need that support? You've already said detox is happening at a cellular level. So what systems in our body do we need to detox?

Kathy

Of course, we all know our liver and kidneys are important for detoxing. But your lymphatic system plays a huge role in it. Your digestive system plays a huge role in it. So really your your body's think of like the Swiss watch, it has all the gears and they all have to work together. Yeah. And it's the same with your detox. To detox properly, your systems need to all be working together.

Jenny

Sure. The gears are aligned. Yeah. If one system is slower than the other, it's a domino effect. Right. That makes sense. What might be some signs that our systems are not aligned? That one's maybe a little bit more sluggish, or that there's something impeding the flow of our lymphatic system, or that our kidneys or liver needs some support. What would be some signs?

Kathy

Fatigue or just headaches, not feeling yourself, weight gain, some weight that you just can't get off, not feeling good. Sure. You know something's off, but you can't pinpoint it. Yeah. And sometimes it's just a toxin overload. You know, your your cup is overflowing. So that's when it's time to step in and do something and try to eliminate some of those toxins.

Jenny

Right, right. And I know because it's something that I struggle with, our skin is like our largest organ, right? So our skin is a huge reflection of what's going on in our body too. So people might be having breakouts or other rashes, right? That's another thing that can show up too, correct?

Kathy

Absolutely. And because, like you said, the skin is your biggest detox organ. So sometimes when well eczema or acne, things like that means your liver might be congested, might need support. Sure. Because if your liver and your kidneys aren't doing what should be doing, it's going to come out in your skin.

Jenny

Yeah, absolutely.

Kathy

Sometimes too, people, while they're detoxing, have rashes and they think they're allergic to something, but no, really, that's a good thing.

Jenny

Yeah.

Kathy

Because it's pushing things out.

Jenny

That's interesting. Right. What also happens during that detox process? What's happening in the body? Can you share a little bit about whether it's lymphatic or kidney or liver? I'm just curious what's happening inside. If we're looking to heal inside out, what is happening?

Kathy

So your lymphatic system is a very important part of the whole detox. You have lymph fluid, right? And you have seven main areas where your lymph nodes are stored. Your lymph nodes are packed full of white blood cells. The white blood cells are lymphocytes, so they are what attacks viruses, bacteria, toxins. So you have to have that lymph always flowing. Those lymph node areas open. Sure. Once once they do their job, the lymph nodes, and attack those bacteria virus toxins, then your fluid goes back into your bloodstream and then to your kidneys and liver. Sure. So where you can eliminate it.

Jenny

Sure.

Kathy

So you have to have all those systems working for you to be able to detox properly without having some people will start while they're detoxing have headaches or some uh fogginess. Because sometimes if your liver's not performing correctly, you'll recirculate those toxins.

Jenny

Sure, sure.

Kathy

And that's not good either. So that's why when you do a detox through our program, we are supporting your liver and your kidney. We're supporting all organs as you go through it.

Jenny

Yeah, absolutely.

Kathy

With supplementation and then also vibration therapy, that really helps with it too.

Jenny

So it really sounds like a detox is looking at multiple angles. And we're gonna dive into some of the services and offerings, but it's it's looking at what you're ingesting, what you're putting into your body, and then the conditions within the body that are helping you to release those toxins that might come from food, might come from environmental.

Kathy

We're bombarded with what we're breathing in, what we're eating, what we're putting on our skin. Yeah. So you can control some of it, but some of it you just can't in the environment. It's it's really if we can do our best to eliminate what we can by eating organic foods or by, you know, do our cleaners making sure they're they're not the chemicals aren't toxic chemicals. You can get something more natural. Yeah. Skin products, they have natural ones out there. So doing what we can to alleviate some of those toxins. It's important.

Kaitlyn (KK)

Like detox means so many different things to so many different people. And there's a there's a stigma around that it is the juice cleanses or that it's gonna be this quick fix. But I think something that separates us is that we go slow to go fast, right? So I think with our nutrition program, that's what's preached throughout the program, is we want to be able to see which part we are detoxing the best or the most or that might need it too. So I do think that that's a differentiating piece, is that we're not a fad when it comes to that, and that we are really looking at the whole person and we are trying to eliminate what we can and what is in people's control and do that in a way where you have those wraparound services. Absolutely. So I think that that's important to emphasize.

Jenny

I agree. I also think there's something just knowing that into the woods is mind body, right? So looking at, and I know the program, the personalized wellness program does this, looking at what might be that emotional mental health side of the detox. And so, do you need to look at relationships or your connection to your phone? Like I know sometimes I need a digital detox, right? There's so many different pathways. So I think if you're feeling off, if you're feeling brain fog, bloating, skin issues, fatigue, the first thing is to ask, okay, what am I putting in my body? What am I surrounded by? But then the next thing is maybe to try some different things. And into the woods might be one of those things. So let's dive a little bit into some of the offerings. One of the first ones is vibration therapy. Tell us a little bit about vibration therapy and and how that works specifically with the lymphatic system, correct?

Kathy

Right. Yep. I touched on it maybe a little bit. So I open up the lymphatic system by the seven main areas where our lymph nodes are held. And then with a light vibration, I move all your lymph up so it can drain and it drains right above your clavicles into your circulatory system. Once you get it back into the circulatory system, like I talked about before, then it's goes to your kidneys and liver and that can detox out. It's really just a light vibration that gets your lymph open and moving.

Jenny

What can someone expect? Walk us through. It's somewhat like a massage, right? There's a relaxation part to it as well.

Kathy

There is, there is. So correct. So with light vibration, once I move all the fluid, like I said, draining into your circulatory system, I do have you flip over and then we do a little bit of trigger point and I do a little heavier vibration that really works on the circulatory system. So not only is it helping your lymphatic system, it also feels good. It is kind of highly recommended. Yeah, people love it.

Jenny

So you're on a massage table, right? Yes. Starting on your back, do the various points on your body to help with the flow. Flip over, do uh some of the back areas, right?

Kathy

Correct.

Jenny

Are we talking half hour?

Kathy

Yeah, it's usually about a half hour, maybe a little longer.

Jenny

And people, and just to be clear, everyone is fully clothed as well, right? Like, I mean, obviously, don't come in, you know, your snow pants and snowsuit here. That's so hard. It's just like for Kathy to do her work if that were the case, even though it is winter here. Right, right.

Kathy

So yeah, just something comfortable. Perfect. Yeah. You're fully dressed.

Jenny

That's great. And what are some of the benefits that people are seeing from it? Caitlin, what are some of the benefits of you other than relaxation?

Kaitlyn (KK)

I just felt very relaxed. So I carry a lot of my tension in my shoulders. So definitely less stress in that area. But yeah, it overall, again, even though you're detoxing a bunch of different areas of my body that I'm not aware that it's happening, it's just an overall really good feeling. You feel lighter, which who doesn't want to feel lighter? Absolutely. And it doesn't take that much of your time. And then what did I do that we offered? Oh, that myofascial release class that we did a couple weeks ago, too. It felt very similar to how you felt after that. Again, just opening up portions of your body that are are stiff. Yeah. And that could use a little bit more love. People really, when they talk about all of our different services, they often talk about the lymphatic as something that they truly enjoy. So if you're dipping your toe into detox or trying to figure out what is detox anyway, I think that that's a nice one to start with for sure.

Kathy

Yeah. I had a client this morning actually, and she was having some swelling in her lower legs. Sure. And that's why she came. Yeah. And she was ecstatic. She's like, it felt so good. And I'm telling other people, and I'm gonna be back next week.

Kaitlyn (KK)

And I think as we're overall the talking about detox, I think the lymphatic is one portion of that, right? And that we're not dictating entry point. So I think that that's a nice entry point to be like, hmm, okay, I actually have this pain here. Can there be something else that can help me move through this instead of maybe an ibuprofen or just sitting with the pain or things like that? But there are ways natural, organic, holistic that we can help with.

Jenny

And I know vibration therapy is a pretty big piece of your personalized wellness program. Now, detox within that program itself is pretty substantial. It's kind of built into that. So I'm I'm gonna skip around a little bit, but do you want to talk about the detox portion of the program? I know you're you're you're tied to the program because people see you to go through those various services, but maybe talk a little bit about the detox within the program.

Kathy

So from the time you start with one of our programs, there's different lengths. You have a talk with one of our practitioners first, and then they decide is it a two-month, three-month, four-month, six-month really based off of your symptoms and what you're presenting. Yep. Correct. So then from there, when you start your program, you do go through the first month, is really food elimination. One of the first things you're eliminating is sugar. Sure.

Kaitlyn (KK)

So the hardest part for me was actually the fruit at the end. Oh I was like, give me that back. Yes. That was like my favorite. That's your go-to. Yeah.

Kathy

A lot of people actually. But yeah, you can have the fruits until the two weeks of detox. So your first month, you're doing a food elimination, then you're going through two weeks of a detox. It's still a gentle detox. You're still eating. Yeah. You're still so we're not taking everything away from you. We're more putting good things in you. Yeah. So you're still eating your good proteins, your vegetables, your good fats. And then you'll have detox shakes those two weeks. Yeah. It sounds scary. A lot of people just the word detox scares them. But the majority of our clients that went through it was like, oh, that's not so bad. Yeah. You know, I can do that. That wasn't hard. I did it. They feel great after.

Jenny

Right.

Kathy

After the two weeks of detox, then we slowly start adding foods back in.

Jenny

And I think when you understand why you're doing that, in the episode with ginger, we talked a lot about food, right? There are so many foods that everybody is different, but that might cause inflammatory responses, or you might have intolerances too. And I know I'll say just the busyness of day-to-day life, I was avoiding the signs that were telling me, like, hey, maybe you shouldn't be eating dairy or you shouldn't be doing this, right? Sure. And so when you're taking the time to remove those slowly and then you're letting everything internally quiet, right? So that your body can come back to this place. Then when you step into the detox, it does let go of more, right? And the detox is again the clean eating, your meat, your vegetables, right? Yeah. You're adding in some supplements. Really trying to create the conditions within for those toxins to be flushed out of the body. Correct. And then is there anything specific to that detox where it's more clean food versus fasting? Because I know that's another thing that others might speak to. That's not what we do here necessarily. Correct. Are there other benefits that people are seeing from detoxing from this very intentional clean eating approach versus the fasting?

Kathy

Well, they're not starving. I feel like fasting people have a hard time doing that because they are starving.

Jenny

Yeah. And I know when I went through the program too, one of the things, because there are specific things that the the wellness coaches are walking you through, right? But I know one of the very first things that was said, if you're hungry, eat. This is not about deprivation.

Kaitlyn (KK)

Right. And I think our program is really just about a healthier lifestyle. So I think that that's the difference between that and fasting. Yeah. Right. And then eliminating slowly, again, going slow to go fast so that you can actually see, because once you're through it, then you start integrating the food back in. And it's a slow integration so that you can see what could be causing you issues. Yeah. So I really I I like our approach with that. And I think that that is it's a much it's slower, but then that is hopeful so that you can have that sustainable outcome for that lifestyle change, not a fad, not a quick fix. Exactly. That's definitely what we're not. Yeah. So I think when we talk about detox, we are again going slow to go fast and really trying to find what that root cause is. Yes. And we wouldn't be for a fad because of the way our things are set up aren't conducive to that. Yeah. And when you're in the program too, with that full wraparound services of mental health support, coaching in so many different arenas, you're able to utilize our services that continue to help further that detox, which is lymphabic and absolutely the foot detox and the sauna, the salt booth, all of it. So it really is looking and really detoxing your body. So we can get to that root cause.

Jenny

That's exactly where my brain was going. You're doing all of this to get to the root cause. Correct. Not for a quick fix, otherwise. And I think that's a huge distinguishing factor. The lifestyle change.

Kaitlyn (KK)

Yes. Correct.

Jenny

Exactly.

Kaitlyn (KK)

Okay. So I mentioned foot detox. Yes, it is.

Jenny

Absolutely. So yes, you can call a cart, come grab a vibration therapy. For sure. Or, you know, and we'll touch on the sauna, that kind of thing. But the program also has a lot of these baked in, right? To help again enhance that process and support as you're being very intentional in that three-month, four-month, six-month, et cetera, and beyond. So foot detox, ionic foot detox is one of the other services that support the program, but also it could be a la carte. And it is one that you do here as a wellness facilitator. So tell us a little bit about the foot bath.

Kathy

Yeah. So the foot bath, it is ionic foot detox because it creates an ionization. It creates negative ions, is what it does. And our bodies actually have well, obviously, we have negative and positive ions in our body, but we have too many positive ions. Yeah. And that's created just from a lot of the toxins that we have in our environment. So the foot detox actually creates an a negative ions, which attracts, like a magnet, the positive ions. Sure. And then pulls them out through our pores. It attracts the positive and then it neutralizes the cells. So then the cells release the toxins, okay.

Kaitlyn (KK)

Which come go into the which my feet had a lot to release, let me tell you.

Jenny

Our feet have like the largest pores. Or what is it? Like our our feet are a great place to absorb, right? Like I've heard that. I've heard putting essential oils, or if you're not feeling well, to put it on your feet because your feet absorb. Absorb. Right. And so why would you, if it absorbs, why would that not be the pathway to release as well?

Kaitlyn (KK)

Correct. Correct.

Jenny

That makes a ton of sense.

Kaitlyn (KK)

I just had it right under my desk. So here I was just tapping away as I was that was on lesson. Yeah, yeah. Last Friday. So it's it was about a half hour, right? Half hour, 45 minutes. Um, and I will tell you, so the sweatiest place on my body, the only place I really sweat, this is the truth, is my feet. Sure. Yeah. That it's everywhere else is like a no-go zone, or it's very rare. Trust me. It's not my problem. Yeah, but it's my feet. And so I will say I did it on Friday, and all weekend long my feet were not sweaty whatsoever at all. And that is the place where I sweat. So I don't know what it was if I need to do it weekly or keep that recommendation up, but that felt really, really good. Otherwise, I've put like patches on the bottom of my feet, but then they just sweat all night because they're in a sock, which I just feel like is diffusing the point. But then you get this at least mine were like pitch black when you pull out. I was like, Yeah. So I've never done those. Yeah. I was doing that, and I was like, well, why won't why, Caitlin? Why don't you just use what you have at work? Right. Exactly. What's that? Right. Let's do that.

Jenny

I've seen the patches, I think, on reels.

Kaitlyn (KK)

But I think again, some of these things that we offer feel, I don't know, I guess woo-woo. Or like, is that really gonna be beneficial? And so what I would say again, if you're curious, that's more of like our a la carte services. You can try it out and see if it is good for you. Right. Well, then also trying it out means you're detoxing. And if you like it, then hopefully you would want to explore it a little bit more. But I'm cooked.

Jenny

Right, right.

Kaitlyn (KK)

If that's gonna help me and that's my only place to sweat, well, then hey, I've cleared all my sweat knots.

Jenny

There you go. Well, you know, you bring you bring up an interesting point because I think some of this stuff, there are skeptics. Like, does that really help? Right. But I know when I had my foot bath, one of the things you said was the water does turn color regardless. For some people, it might be slightly different color or like somebody's a little bit different.

Kathy

Exactly.

Jenny

But for me, as soon as I and I I believed it, I really did, but I it wasn't until a couple of weeks ago that I finally got my butt into the chair and had it done as well. You think either way it looks gross, but just knowing that that stuff came out of your feet and out of your body, it's like gross, but also yeah, get that out, right? Right. But for me, I was a solid believer as soon as I walked away and I did feel energized after.

Kaitlyn (KK)

Well, I did the lymphatic and then I did that, and I was like, ooh, okay.

Kathy

I liked doing those. I will often recommend doing those together. Sure. Do the lymphatic first. There you go. Because then you're getting the lymph moving, and then you do the foot detox, and then you're pulling out even more.

Jenny

That makes a ton of sense. Well, if you're not convinced, I don't know what else we can say, but that's oh, I love it. Okay, so very briefly, I know people will also use the infrared sauna to detox. So that's you know, really just getting to the benefit of sweating, right? Increasing body temperature. Can you speak to that at all? Like how that process works?

Kathy

Well, the infrared part of it, infrared works at a cellular level. That really helps the mitochondria of your that's the major source, energy source of your cells. Sure. So it really works on regenerating the mitochondria of the cells. From there, your cells will release the toxins and then it comes out in your sweat.

Jenny

Sure. And yeah.

Kathy

And you just sweat away in there.

Jenny

Yeah. And then go home and shower and get that off. Similar, yeah.

Kathy

Then we have wet claws. Oh, yeah. Yeah. You can wipe off you can wipe yourself off right away. That makes sense. You don't reabsorb any of the toxins that you just people really love our sauna too.

Jenny

So yeah. I've been thinking I need to get in, it's been a while.

Kaitlyn (KK)

Yeah. Detox. Oh, and that's the other thing. If you feel like you ate too many Christmas cookies, you could go into the saunas and detox your body.

Jenny

Right. Well, I think so. You know, there is, I've been seeing more and more about this. Like obviously, anytime you sweat, whether you're doing cardio, right? Or if you're getting into your yoga, I don't remember when Kelly would probably be kicking me under the table. I should know what the transition and movements are called. It's called something. It's been a while since I've been in my yoga phase, but you can get into a pretty hardcore sweat in yoga as well. When you're doing that, you're also removing toxins in your body, right? But like sitting in a sauna on a cold day in Wisconsin, like why would you not want to do that?

Kathy

It's amazing how busy we are in the winter, right? For sure.

Jenny

So that's an another really great way that just again works off of the way our body naturally functions and it does exactly what Kathy said that I could not repeat.

Kathy

So you have the extra benefit of the infrared, which is nice.

Jenny

Yeah, that's great. What else would you suggest from other offerings into the woods? You know, when when because I know you do a lot with supplements too, right? And IV therapy is supplementing via IV versus ingestion, right? But you can do detox through IV and supplements, right? It's a supporting piece.

Kathy

Right. It does support. I know one of the ones that the nurses get quite often is glutathione. Glutathione is a huge antioxidant for detoxing.

Jenny

Yep.

Kathy

So I know that they do injections quite a bit with that.

Jenny

I actually did an IV. Sorry to interrupt. I did an IV in December and it was an immune one. And then they said, you know, if you want, you could do a glutathione push. And I did it. I was like superwoman after that. Yeah. So it's like again, if any part of you is skeptical, come in and I think you have to experience it too, you know.

Kaitlyn (KK)

And I think again, there's this stigma around what we do, but after you experience it, people feel energized after their IVs. It's all natural, it's all organic to make you feel better. So that is a form of detox.

Jenny

Yeah, absolutely. I just had to share after that.

Kaitlyn (KK)

And you might wear a cape after and flying around sound.

Jenny

Yes, absolutely. I was flying around my house because it was before the holidays. I was like, all right, I need to do this and this and this and this. So yeah, it was great. Awesome. Okay, so if you have any questions, Kathy, you are a wealth of knowledge. Somebody could call and discuss supplements, obviously, any of the services or schedule a discovery to talk through what the personalized wellness program might offer. But beyond that, I want to talk high-level about other daily support. If someone is on their drive or listening while they're washing dishes or whatever it is, what might be some natural daily, everyday things that they could do on their own?

Kathy

Well, drink plenty of water. Yeah. Water is so important to flush your system out. And even adding like a little bit of Celtic salt to it or Himalayan sea salt to replace some of the minerals that we we lose daily.

Jenny

Are there any specific foods that that help? Like any particular foods that are known to help kickstart some things within naturally?

Kathy

Right, like your cruciferous vegetables, which would be like your broccoli, your cauliflower, your Brussels sprouts, those are all really, really good for phase two of your liver. So that really helps with detoxing. But vegetables and and good proteins and good fats in general. In general, are good. That makes sense.

Kaitlyn (KK)

Probably say a little bit of movement if you can use science time for that. Jenny likes to dance, so that is movement. You betcha. She will make her record herself once. So put it on there. One piece that we did forget or that we just haven't discussed yet, we do have a vibration plate here. So I think that that's that's becoming super popular. So I got one at my house too, just so I didn't have to do it here.

Jenny

Well, I I've been seeing more of that, and I know in the online the Facebook group, there was a conversation about the vibration plates, and Jinder was sharing her recommendations. So I didn't know that you guys had one here now, so that's awesome.

Kaitlyn (KK)

Yes, cool.

Jenny

Very cool. Yeah, I mean, they're not super, super expensive, but they're not cheap either.

Kathy

So I think I think Amazon 150 bucks. Right.

Jenny

So can you come in and just use the vibration plate then? Or okay.

Kaitlyn (KK)

Do you want to under our a la carte service?

Jenny

Very nice. I learned something today, too.

Kaitlyn (KK)

That's fantastic. We'll record Jenny on that as well.

Jenny

We could be a real yeah, we can make it real. Maybe I could dance while I'm on it. There you go.

Kaitlyn (KK)

And I on TikTok, people are like doing squats and all this other stuff. So that's funny. Yeah, but I I I think overall, or the biggest piece is detox is one of our pillars, and it's one of the pieces that we highly emphasize within our our full wheel. And so wherever you're starting with it, just know that we won't dictate that entry point and we just want to see you healthy as possible. But that's why it is one of our um pillars and is on our wheel of wellness.

Jenny

Yeah, absolutely. I think that's a great way to wrap. We talked about signs, fatigued, bloated, foggy, skin issues, perhaps, just feeling off, right? Right. Or maybe you had a few too many beverages or too many sugar cookies, whatever it might be. There are ways that you can support. And whether that's the DIY stuff at home or giving into the woods a call or whoever is on your speed dial or in your in your arena. Because I know we have listeners outside of Wisconsin, even, which is pretty, pretty cool.

Kaitlyn (KK)

And they can let us know what they do to detach. Yes, yeah.

Jenny

Please share, share your thoughts if there's something that you would highlight. We'd love to hear. All right, so closing thought. Building off of last episode. Ooh. Because you know I like to tie things back around, right?

Kaitlyn (KK)

We're looping it.

Jenny

We're coming back around. So we had talked last episode about reframing New Year's resolutions, helping people realize there are ways to do it that are very rooted and grounded, and it's not all or nothing. Yeah. So one of the things we talked about was doing one thing a day. Yes. Right? I like it. So, what is that one thing that you could do today or this week even that supports your body and just quieting things so your system can first let those things flow and then release just to help you feel just that a little bit better, that energy. So you could wear that cape if you wanted to. Out of curiosity, just because we didn't have time to do the this or that in this episode, uh Kathy, what is your one thing that you must do when it comes to detoxing? I would probably say drink my water.

Kathy

Sure. I make sure I drink my water every day. I I should get into the sauna more. Yeah.

Kaitlyn (KK)

Movement and drinking water, I think, is my go-to thing that I do. Mine is definitely my mental detox every morning. Like my call, I call it getting my head in the game, which is a lot of visualization, a lot of meditation. That time alone. So I'm really detoxing my brain every day. But now adding in the foot detox, I think that will help my stinky feet. That's so the only place I sweat. And you know, like I said, I have the vibration plate at home, and then I can do lymphatic here now, too. So so yeah, but my mental one is the one that I That's your go-to. Yeah.

Jenny

That's that one's huge. I think we often forget about that, but that impacts so much. I would say for me, gentle movement or movement. So it might be me dancing in my kitchen, but that movement is really big for me to again just keep things moving and drinking water. But I have been wanting to consider a vibration plate, so I might have to try it here.

Kaitlyn (KK)

Yeah. Okay. Well, she's got her membership, so yeah, I totally could.

Jenny

There we go. Yeah, perfect. All right. Well, thank you so much, Kathy. Yes, survive on the Into the Woods Rooted in Rising podcast, your first time.

Kathy

Yes, it was.

Jenny

All right, well, until next time.

Kathy
