Most gratitude practices don’t work—because they stay vague.
In this episode, you’ll learn a simple 2-minute reset designed to actually shift your nervous system before bed. No lists. No journaling required. Just one specific moment, fully experienced and locked in.
This practice helps you close the day, quiet mental noise, and transition into sleep with less tension.
If your mind is still running at night, this is a cleaner way to shut it down.
Welcome back to Night Shish with Justin S. King, how to transform your life one night at a time. Tonight we're talking about something that is on almost every morning routine habit, and that is gratitude. Tonight we're not talking about just making a list of three things you're grateful for or five things you're grateful for every morning. Grateful for my family, my health, my life. We are talking about actually feeling that gratitude. Because that's when your brain and things begin to change when you have a specific experience linked to the gratitude exercise. So tonight or part of your evening routine, instead of listing things you are grateful for, let's try a simple two-minute reset sometime during your late night hours. First pick one moment from today, something you are grateful for, a specific small moment, a conversation, something you did, an unexpected surprise, and then replay that moment and imagine yourself feeling gratitude for it. Where were you? What did it look like? How did you feel? And then amplify that emotion. Did you give it the full extent of gratitude that you could have at that moment? You're going to re-experience this with gratitude and follow it through your entire body. This will give you safety and security in your nervous system, and that will help you sleep better. And then the last step is simply thank you for that moment. That was real, that happened, and that's it. Often we dismiss positive moments throughout the day. And if we take a moment at the end of the evening to appreciate the gratitude, the moments we're grateful for, then we will find and look for more of them throughout the day. And that will also rewrite your mind while you're sleeping. So that's it for tonight's episode and for tonight's night shift. Take one moment of the day and feel it again and amplify that feeling. Hope to see you tomorrow night. My name is Justin S. King. I hope entrepreneurs find peace tonight, tomorrow, and for the rest of their lives through sleep optimization, emotion regulation, and discovering their purpose. Good night.
