In this episode of Night Shift, Justin shares a simple idea from Day 3 of Tyler Watson’s Full Time Coach Challenge: resistance is not the enemy — it is information. Learn how to spot resistance before, during, and after action, then use a simple alignment process to take the next step from choice instead of force.
Welcome back to Night Shift with Justin S. King, How to Transform Your Life One Night at a Time. Today I'm sharing notes from day three of Tyler Watson's full-time coach challenge and the concept of aligning to the things that you want. Yesterday I spoke about allergies and addictions and things, how things in your body keep you from moving towards what you really want. Very simple version of it. So you already know what you want and why you want it, and you know the exact action that you need to take, but you still don't do it. So you don't need more information. Problem is usually resistance. Something is pushing against the action or holding you, pulling you away from the action. And Tyler says that resistance is not an enemy, it's just information. It's telling you that you are not aligned yet somewhere in your body, somewhere in your cells. So you know you need to maybe go to bed earlier, but part of you still wants to stay up and escape. And so that is the resistance. We talked about yesterday noticing what it is that comes up for you when you want to do an action or when you think about obtaining a big goal. Something like, I'm not ready to do this, what if it doesn't work? Those types of things or thoughts might come up, or it might just be a feeling that you feel somewhere in your body. And so the alignment process is to get you to shift and to align with the actions that you need to take. So you are doing them from the right state of mind because even if you do something that you don't want to do and you're resisting, there's going to be different types of results that are showing up as you do those. Like if you hug someone you don't want to hug, it's obviously obvious. So there's two things that you want to change is your state, you want to uh change your energy, how much energy you put into something. And then you also need to change to align. And he Tyler gives an example of what alignment is. If you're putting a lot of energy, it's basically your car, the car is going fast. But if you know you need to change something or like turn directions, that is alignment, and it's harder to do if you're not aligned. Tyler mentioned how he came up with the idea, and I'll just touch on it briefly. He has years and years of experience in coaching, all different modalities, and he had, as I recall, a dream that that told him how to do this technique and a thought that specifically about his wife who want had a gluten allergy and she wanted to eat bread, and and the thought came to him that if she is if she can't eat bread, there's something in cells in her body that is not a lion, that is allergic to what she wants and addicted to what she doesn't want. That's where the concept came up, and after she he had the technique, he tried it on his wife, and she ate bread the next day. She's only and then he tried it on a couple other people with with food allergies, and then he shifted into money, and he started trying it in all different types of things because he didn't want to just be the food allergy guy. And so he aligned to the idea that people pay him for his coaching without him even marketing to them, and then randomly the next couple days, he got new clients from random places, and he told a different couple stories like this. So that is the idea of it, and he just says, you know, if you have a lot of things that you've tried with the alignment method, you don't need to know the root cause of something. You just need to know what the resistance is and what you want and align to it. So you can take the either the positive or you can take the negative, and the steps are these to align to it, or you are going to there's something like a resistance comes up, you're going to rate how much resistance you have towards that thing. You're going to locate where that resistance resistance is in your body. If you don't know where it is, you can just tap your chest. Then you're going to vocalize the resistance while you are tapping that part of your body or your chest. And and then you are going to align to it, which involves tapping the top of your head, breathing in, and then you you top you start from the b front of your head, tapping backwards towards the towards the spine, and then you breathe out, and that's one time, and you're gonna do that three times. So you tap from the front of your head to the back breathing in, then from the head front of the head to the back breathing out, you do that cycle three times, and then you pant like a dog three times, tapping from the front to the back as well, and then you smile. There may be a video somewhere of this online somewhere. If I didn't explain it clearly, you can reach out to me and I can show you how to do it. This is the very basic option. He's he's gone through some more detailed versions. The longest version is about 20 pages, and you go through every part of your body with all your goals, and there's 26 different variations, and you keep repeating it where you rate it, you know, on a scale from one to ten, and you keep repeating this cycle until you get to a 10 where you're aligned to the thing that you want. So there's no more resistance. And he does say that it might not work for everyone, um, just as a he says that, you know, as a precautionary idea, but to be open to the idea, and then it doesn't work right away, a new skill or an idea will pop up that will lead you in the right direction, and then you move, you keep moving forward until you get the ultimate desire that you are searching for. So let's try it with an idea. So I'll go ahead and align to that that first money alignment that he gave an example. So we're gonna take a minute to feel in your body what comes up if you someone says, I have people pay me in full for my service without being me marketing to them. Take a minute and see where resistance comes up in your body. If nothing comes up, you're gonna repeat that while you're tapping that area or your chest, and you say, I have people pay me in full for my services without me marketing to them. People pay me in full for my services without me marketing to them. And then I have people pay me in full for my services without me marketing to them. And then you're going to align where you do the breathing. So it's in, out, in, out, in, out three times, and then you're gonna pant like a dog and you smile, and that is the simplest version of the alignment technique that he teaches. Hopefully you could picture it. But that is the idea of the alignment, and it's to the greater picture is that once you are aligned, then and every cell in your body is aligned to the goal or the thing that you want, then it becomes your choice. So you're you're you still have the choice to take the action or not. And if you are aligned and you aren't taking the action, then you're consciously choosing not to take it.
