Breakthrough does not begin by fixing your emotions. It begins by finally feeling them. In this episode of Night Shift, we explore one powerful question: What is asking to be felt right now? Learn how to get out of your head, name what is moving through your body, let it be witnessed, and turn emotional awareness into one clear action.

Welcome back to Night Shift with Justin S. King. How to transform your life one night at a time. Tonight I am going to be sharing with you my notes from the day two of a emotions breakthrough challenge that I am participating in this week. And today we discussed a process where you participate in a group of people. And I'm going to pull out some ideas from that. But the main key takeaway, if you remember anything from this podcast, is this. When you are exploring an emotion, it's not about feeling better. It's about getting better at feeling. The core lesson of today is that the breakthrough starts when your emotion leaves your head. You can verbalize it, it enters your body, you can witness it without wanting to fix it. And then you let it process on its own. And that turns into one action that you're going to take. So a key question to ask yourself if you are exploring emotions, you close your eyes, get centered, and ask yourself what is asking to be felt right now, and what fears keeping me from experiencing life more fully? Or another way to ask that is you can say, What emotion have I been avoiding? And what would become possible if I finally let myself feel it? So the process is similar to what I said in yesterday's podcast: is you are going to get present, breathe in through your nose, out through your mouth, feel your surroundings, notice where you are, then ask yourself, what is asking to be felt? Name the emotion. If you can locate it in your body, you can ask yourself, where do I feel this in your body? When I started doing this practice, I always got in my head. Like I'd always say, Oh, the feelings in my head. And so a question you can ask if you're facing that is you can also say, if it wasn't in my head, where else would it be? And after that, you want to complete the sentence. I want to feel more. So you're going to move from the emotion you have to what you want to feel more. Like you want to feel more loved, aligned, courageous, free, connected, safe. And you can go deeper on those questions where you can ask yourself, where do I feel a lack of this feeling, this love? Where do I feel confused? Explore the question of the emotion that you want to feel more of. And then breathe through the emotion that you're feeling. Let it move through your body. The power of doing this in a breakthrough circle is that you can give it a voice and other people can witness you when you are doing it and it helps you feel safe. And then once you've done that, go ahead and journal, write down what emotions you worked through today, and if there's any new insights about it, and take an action on what you wrote down. That's a key framework from today is you get present, you feel the emotion, you name it, you locate it, you witness it, you journal it, and you act. A key question is am I willing to create a space where emotion can be felt, spoken, witnessed, and acted on? And as always, the key of learning something new be to integrate it and to take an action from that new piece of knowledge and understanding. So that's it for tonight's episode of Night Shift.
