Redesigning Life with Sabrina Soto
SPECIAL EDITION: Danny Morel: From Trauma to Self-Discovery
On this segment for The Sabrina Soto Show, Danny Morel sits down for a raw, unfiltered conversation that strips away the polished facade of success to reveal what truly matters in life. When his mother passed away, Danny was forced to confront a jarring question despite having achieved everything society told him would bring happiness: "Are you happy?" The answer led him down a path of profound self-discovery that transformed his understanding of human behavior and healing.
The conversation takes us deep into practical healing approaches that anyone can implement, from simple mirror work and life timelines to meditation and breathwork. Danny explains how these practices help us transition from the frequency of fear – where most of humanity operates – to the frequency of love, where authentic fulfillment resides. This shift isn't just personal; it's planetary, as we collectively move from masculine-dominated energy toward feminine heart-centered awareness.
As Danny promises, when you're truly ready to heal, "the right people, the right circumstances, the right everything will just start to line up."

Welcome to a special edition of Redesigning Life. Many of you know I have a new show called the Sabrina Soto Show Out, and I was able to invite amazing experts in their fields just to come in and have a great conversation. But because it's a show, we have to edit it down. Now. These conversations, they were so good that I wanted to publish the raw, unedited version, and that's what this episode is. You're going to hear action and you may hear a crew in the background, but I wanted to publish this so you can really listen to the entire chat. So here you go. Okay and action. Danny, thank you so much for being on the show. I'm excited to be here.
Speaker 1:Today's intention, I think, is so important because it's about having your whole body, mind and soul right Taken care of, and what you stand for is exactly that. I've had you on the podcast. I've cried with you already, so I brought Kleenex in case that happens now. And I think the ability why I cried is that you have the innate ability to make people become vulnerable and be authentically who they are, to the root of where it all started, and that's you sometimes push a lot of buttons on social media because of that, but from what I gather, it's like we both understand the same thing of who we are today is menu. It's manufactured from where we came from, yeah, and what the life that we have created really comes down to the wounds that we've carried. Can you tell the viewer more about how you heal and how you've come to be danny merle now?
Speaker 2:yeah, well, I, I think you know, my story started when my mom died, and, and when she died, I was at a point in my life where I had it all, or I had what the world tells us we need to have to be happy. I had the big business, the big house, the cars, everything. And when my mom died, something happened within me that just like split me wide open and it made me start asking some very serious questions about my life, questions that I realized I was afraid to answer and I have been staying away from the whole time. The first one was are you happy? Like I didn't even know, like that I had the right to be happy and I didn't even know at that time in my life that there was this thing called being unhappy because on the outside I'd had it all, but on the inside I was, I was a mess.
Speaker 1:So you had the money you had the wife, you had everything in the beautiful house. What made you unhappy at that time?
Speaker 2:Yeah Well, the primary reason I was unhappy, I discovered, was because I had been living my entire life based off of the outside and not the inside. Right, and that came from, or it stemmed from, my relationship with my mother and my father. All of us have a mother and father, which means that all of us have a masculine and feminine side to us, and when we are children, we enter the world a completely clean state and we look up and we see this man and this woman and we see from them what we will in the future, experience in life. It's as simple as the way they look at us, and when they look at us with pride and with joy and with love right, then we think, wow, life is awesome. This starts literally happening in our subconscious mind, and yet, for some of us, one of our parents wasn't around.
Speaker 1:Or sometimes both.
Speaker 2:Or when they are around. They come into this world with their own set of woundings that has been passed down generation upon generation upon generation. And so we've got these two human beings who are trying their best but don't know how to offer love. In my case, it created both the masculine and feminine wound, the father and the mother wound, because my mom's mom died when I was only 13 days old. When she was only 13 days old, and so energetically she never received the frequency of love, so she didn't know how to give it to me.
Speaker 1:She just passed that down.
Speaker 2:That's right.
Speaker 1:Right, that's right. And then you got to hold it.
Speaker 2:Yeah, exactly. And then from my father's side, my father was disowned by his father, so my father never had his father around, so he didn't know how to share to me that guidance. And so, as I was lacking that love, unknowingly I found love in power, success, fame, you know, luxury, you know, not that there's anything wrong with any of that, but for many of us, if we don't know why we're searching for that, it's the same as drugs, it's the same as pornography, it's the same as anything outside of us that we are looking for to heal the root cause, which is, as little boys and as little girls, we didn't receive the love we were searching for.
Speaker 1:I understand what you're saying because I think I had abandonment issues too and I was looking to collect success because of my ego. Yeah Right. So for validation, that's right. If I get this, then I'll feel happy. If I get that. And I was chasing all I was looking for love in all the wrong places, that's right. If I get this, then I'll feel happy. If I get that. And I was chasing all I was looking for love in all the wrong places, that's right.
Speaker 2:Right, that's right. And what happens is that we are born. We are born and we are in our hearts. We are love, we are abundance, we are everything we've ever searched for. But when we are shown subconsciously and energetically that our heart and love is scary, we go into the mind and then the mind creates a story and a pattern and you are living your entire life from that pattern. That's why you attract the money you have or don't have Right, the relationship you have or don't have, and even all of this impacts our health. This is where most illness comes from. Is the body, after so many years of this uneasiness and this pain and emotional trauma within it, can only hold it so long and then illness is created. The body keeps score. That's right.
Speaker 1:Disease. That's right. Your life is in disease. Yeah, now I know that you also believe in energetics, like I do, and this show, for instance. Right, I've been wanting this show my whole life. I've been pitching this show for 10 years, but I think last year I did the most work on my inner child to understand where my parents came from, to allow myself to release, to release that victimhood right Of. They did this to me, and once I let go of all of that and understood it, everything opened up for me. So can you explain to somebody who's because, look, we all have trauma with our parents, right? Sure, I mean, I'm sure my daughter's like 10 years from now she's going to tell me I did something wrong. Sure, we're all trying our best. So if somebody is watching this and they feel like they're in a rut, can you explain, like in a really simple way, how the energetics bring or not bring relationships, money, success, whatever into your life?
Speaker 2:Well, you are energy, money is energy, your partner is energy, yeah. And so if from within I'll give you an example If from within, let's say, you're a woman, I am, you're a woman right, and your dad wasn't around, or your dad was very critical of you, or your dad was very performance-based, then as a little girl, you learn number one my dad isn't going to protect me. Number two, he can't emotionally support me. And number three love equals performance, right, support me. And number three love equals performance right.
Speaker 2:So from that story you go out and you tell life, I'll show life, I'm going to perform at my highest, I'm never going to stop until I'm successful and I'm powerful. And you see, the problem is that that action was created from a wounding Right, and so your life is essentially creating or being created from a wounding within. When we heal that part of us, you can have everything you've ever wanted. It's just that you're no longer chasing it. You're no longer chasing the success or the money. It just shows up, it comes to you, it comes.
Speaker 2:That doesn't mean you don't have to work for it. You're no longer chasing the success or the money. It just shows up, it comes. That doesn't mean. That doesn't mean you don't have to work for it, that's right. But doors start to open right, and the partner that you're looking for number one you find out that the one you were looking for your entire life is not out there, it's in here. That's right, it's in here. And then when you find that partner in here, I promise you it's like magically. A partner out there just freaking, shows up because you are a magnet. You are literally calling into your life's experience everything on the outside that matches the inside. And so what's the answer and the solution? Heal within. If you heal within, I promise the audience, you'll make 10 times the money, you'll work half as hard, you'll make more of an impact, you'll help heal humanity, you'll attract love and, most importantly, you'll live out the life experience that you truly, in your heart, want to live out.
Speaker 1:I think everyone has some sort of trauma in their life, right? So in order to start that healing process let's say, somebody can't afford to go to therapy what modalities could you do at home that you recommend to people who come to Awaken?
Speaker 2:Yeah, I think that's a beautiful question. I think number one, before you even go to the modality, is awareness, right? Maybe this conversation is striking something within to the audience and I would say just grab a pen and a piece of paper and start a timeline of your life. Maybe this conversation is striking something within to the audience and I would say just grab a pen and a piece of paper and start a timeline of your life and on the bottom, maybe, write down the things that you associate being positive in your life. You know, I remember when I was six, for example. I remember to this day waiting at Christmas to open this big present that I knew was a piano. And then my brother and I couldn't wait, right. And then, two years later, my grandmother died and I remember how that made me feel right. And then, a couple years after that, my parents got divorced and I remember what happened there.
Speaker 2:And then, a couple years after that, we moved to Southern California and I moved into the ghetto and I went into like the worst neighborhood you can possibly live in and I was literally scared. I was scared at 13 years old, right. And then after that, well, I had to learn to drive and I drove us around illegally at 13 because my mom was too scared to drive. So there was a lot of like fear in my life, yeah yeah, and everything that I attracted was from fear. Fear in my life, yeah yeah, and everything that I attracted was from fear. And our journey in life is all about leaving the frequency of fear and coming into the frequency of love, leaving the control of the mind and opening and allowing from the energy of the heart and the modalities I recommend.
Speaker 2:I mean you could start as simple as go stare in the mirror for 10 minutes. That's a long time, tanya, so start for two minutes. Okay, start for two minutes, but what will start to happen is like well, I remember when I did this, I avoided, because I avoided truth. I avoided telling my wife at the time that I was unhappy. I was scared. I was scared of her reaction. Her reaction controlled my voice and my truth. That's not her fault, that's my fault. I have to take ownership of that. And so then I remember right and I couldn't look in the mirror, and that alone was a powerful exercise. The second one is meditate, which is so difficult for people to do because we are so in the control of the mind, and this is why I like to combine breathing with meditation. Did you just see?
Speaker 1:that I took a deep breath right then. Yeah, you did. Yeah, beautiful, because it's true, it is true, the breath is so powerful. Again, I wish I would have known this earlier, but I did understand the energetics and I think what you were saying is like what drives you, and I was saying that my ego is driving me. If somebody's watching this and you, you said you had it all and you were unhappy and they ask themselves am I happy? And they say no, how could you tell if you're being driven from the ego and from the insecurity and the seek seeking validation rather than the pure form of love? Well, can I be honest?
Speaker 2:No, of course. What do you think you're here for? If you are alive and you are a human being today living in this world, 99.2% of us are all being driven by fear and the mind.
Speaker 2:Fear Fear of being judged, fear of being yourself, fear of everything. The energy of planet earth has been collectively masculine power driven, fear driven. If you don't look like this, then you're not going to get love. If you don't go earn this, then you're not going to get love. If you don't, then you're not gonna. That's the frequency of planet earth. What's happening right now, which is so beautiful, is we started shifting about 10 years ago to the feminine. It's like all of us are starting to realize like, oh my God, like I'm doing all this, but I'm still not happy. I found a relationship. I'm 10 years in, I'm miserable, something is wrong, right, and so we're all, literally collectively, starting the process of going back and returning into our hearts. So my answer to everyone is and this is why I do this work because I thought to myself my God, if this was me, what about? And no one had ever talked about this stuff.
Speaker 1:Yeah, nobody does, nobody does.
Speaker 2:Are you happy? Now, I'm happy is not the word. It's like you can't describe in human language the word. It's a level of peace, certainty, effortlessness that I, you can't put your. Yeah, you can't. Yeah, I got it.
Speaker 1:I think I got it and I think everyone at home. We're all striving for that happiness, right? We all want to come home to a safe place, not only in our homes, which is what drives my passion is to create a beautiful home that somebody can be. It's their sanctuary. But come home to a beautiful life even if you're by yourself, but, even more important, if you have somebody to share it with.
Speaker 2:What I'd like to say is I just want you to catch, like you said, striving for happiness. Striving is masculine, right, and I would say remove the striving, like, just be, just be, just like. Literally go out, take your shoes off, return to how we once lived as human beings. We didn't have clothes, we didn't have Nikes, we didn't have this. We were in nature, we were butt naked, running around without judgment, without shame, without hiding. Go and just sit on grass, close your eyes and literally all you have to do is tell source, or, as we call it, god. Tell God I'm ready, I'm done. Show me the way. I want to return to my heart. This thing called life isn't working and I know there's a way to like make it work, and I'm done. And I promise you the right people, the right circumstances, the right everything will just start to line up because you and God are one. You have just been essentially programmed to believe that you and God are separate. You are literally God living a human experience, and you get to create that experience however you want.
Speaker 1:That's true. I think I've spent most of my career being perfect. You know, in TV really for the last 20 years I've been this like perfect homemaker, and the people who really know me know that that's not who I am, and what was the story that made you think that being perfect was what you?
Speaker 1:needed to be. That's what people were going to like Bingo. But what you were saying, I think we are programmed. Put on the makeup, that's right. Make sure your nails are manicured, that's right. And now I'm more authentically me, and now I'm more authentically me and because of that, more things are coming towards me. But it's scary, it's so scary.
Speaker 2:It's so scary to let go and return here. That's it. So baby steps, yeah, baby steps. Start with sitting, start with doing yoga, start with looking in the mirror, start with breathing, start with going into meditation and don't be so hard on yourself, like, understand, this is a journey and it's okay. Where you're at is perfect. Yes, let go of whoever here's the other thing. Let go of whatever judgment, anger, criticism, resentment you have over anyone from the past, because they were a beautiful part of the orchestrated thing called your journey that got you to this moment, that X that you hate. What you actually hate is not them. You hate the part of you that allowed it.
Speaker 2:Right, it's not about them. They're just a reflection for what you have inside, cause, by the way, you're the one that created and attracted them Right, let go of them. Send them love. Thank you for showing me what heck, even if it's what I will no longer allow If you can get to that place, then they are your life's greatest teacher. Oh my God, love the shit out of them. Yes, and let them go, yes.
Speaker 2:So all I would say is ask source or God, or energy, or life, or the God of your choosing, whatever it is. Just close your eyes and say I'm ready, like, please, just show me the way. I'm ready to open my heart, I'm ready to heal the parts of myself that, that, uh, that I need to heal. And, by the way, be honest, and I don't even know where to start, but I'm open to you to show me what is, and I put my faith in you and just watch, watch how. All of the right people, the right circumstances, the right healing, the right modality. Your journey is different than mine and it's different than yours.
Speaker 1:Yes, we all want different things. That's right, absolutely. We talked about this before and this is my last question, because I do want to get started on. One of your favorite modalities is breath work. Yeah, but what happens when you're in a situation where you get rewarded for the persona? For instance, last time you and I talked, I said I strove for success my whole life and I became this ultra independent. I don't need anyone, girl.
Speaker 1:And everybody was like yes, badass, and I wore it as a bulletproof vest to keep everyone away. Protect this, but I was rewarded. So what happens when it's almost a prison that people are stuck in?
Speaker 2:Well, number one, the world is going to reward you for that, because that's the energy of the world, the energy of, of, of the 3d of humanity, is meant to keep you from this. So when it sees this in you, it's going to go yeah, that girl, that girl got it, she's. She's a boss babe. She got it right deep in your heart. You don't want to be a boss babe.
Speaker 2:No, you want to be loved. Yes, you want to be loved, yeah. And so what? Someone who is in that position needs to say, okay, listen, like I'm getting rewarded by it. But what's my truth? Like? What do I feel when I sit down? Can I even sit down? What do I feel when I rest? Do I even allow myself to rest? How long will I keep chasing Right? How long will I stay in this energy that never allows me to actually enjoy the things that I'm creating? And that's when you get to start asking some questions that will eventually lead you to your heart, and that's and that's the moment right. There's fear, and then there's love, and then the the, the bridge that that crosses you over is courage.
Speaker 1:Okay, I lied and I said that was my last question. One last, I promise you talk a lot about masculinity and femininity, right, If somebody is living? I lived in my masculine for too long.
Speaker 2:What did that look like for you?
Speaker 1:I was exhausted, I was lonely, I was frustrated, I was lonely, I was frustrated, I was angry and I think a lot of women now because we're told to be independent, we are told not to rely on anyone, we're told to create our own, and so Hang on what happened as a little girl, what happened with your dad? What happened that caused there was an abandonment, yeah, and I saw my mom completely break down, lose herself, almost ruin her life, and I said I'm never going to be that.
Speaker 2:I will never let that happen to me.
Speaker 1:That's right. So then I went the other way. I'm like go, go, go. And then I spent the last 30 years just sad yeah.
Speaker 2:Yeah, and that unfortunately is the state, and it breaks my heart, but that unfortunately is the state of most of our women today. I know, and here's like, when you journey spiritually, like what we're about to do, in a couple of seconds they start to show you things and what we have to understand as a society is the key to all happiness and peace is the heart. Yeah, which means the key here on planet Earth is the woman. The woman needs to find herself back into her heart. Can she stay in this place where I don't need a man to protect me and to take care of me? It's 2024. She could stay there, but deep inside she knows that that is costing her something. Yeah, and that's the journey. And then, if it was costing my life.
Speaker 2:It was costing mine.
Speaker 1:And I didn't want to I don't want to teach Olivia that.
Speaker 2:Yeah, because when we don't allow ourselves to return here, it just continues. And this is where we get to be the one. Yeah, this is where you're the one right, you're the one for your family, you're the one that's doing the work. So that, not because of anything out out here, because of that, because you love your daughter and your kids so much that you don't want her to experience what you did no, that's right.
Speaker 1:I don't want her to look at me and say I don't, I will never let that. I want her to. I want to show her that vulnerability and accepting love and help is the way to happiness.
Speaker 2:So when you say what happens when a woman is getting praised and rewarded for it, she gets to go into her heart and ask herself what really matters. Yeah, is it that praise, is it that reward? Or is it that little boy or that little girl that all she wants and all they want from us is love, which which, by the way, is the same thing you wanted from your mom and dad? That's right. We all do.
Speaker 1:That's right, we all do, and I think once I let go of understanding. My parents were also human, you know, they were just human. They were in their thirties when they broke up. That's right, and I'm I'm putting so much of my well, they did, they did, and once I just was like they did and it's over.
Speaker 1:It changes everything. Okay, so obviously we're doing a show, so I'm not going to pretend we're not filming a show. I want to sort of go behind the scenes and allow some of the crew and some of my friends over, because I think I experienced your breath work and I think breath work is such an amazing modality to unlock a lot of pented, you know, like stuck energy, so I invited some people over Beautiful, we're going to do some breath work. Let's do it. Are you ready?
Speaker 2:I'm as ready. I'm so excited for everyone who's going to do this?
Speaker 1:Can you explain to people who've never heard of breath work what it is?
Speaker 2:Breath work is beautiful because we have been giving our breath sustains our life, but it also can heal our life. It's also the doorway to access what is called the pineal gland, and when the pineal gland is activated, it allows us to have a profound spiritual experience, so powerful that you can see your ancestors, you can see maybe your parents that have passed. They come back and they literally go into your body and start the healing process. They remove parts of you energetically that you've been holding on to for so long and the most beautiful thing is it allows you to just somatically release a lot of the tears that we've been holding on to because we've been needing to be so strong for so long.
Speaker 1:Yes, and I know it sounds really woo-woo out there, but-.
Speaker 2:Listen, if you would have told me 10 years ago that I'd be here talking about this? No way, no way, no way. I'm not doing that. Woo-woo shit. No.
Speaker 1:But I promise you you could even do this at home. There are tons of apps and guided breath works Even if you just do it for a few minutes, if you don't even want to go that deep, just letting go. It lets go of energy For someone who deals with anxiety, for example.
Speaker 2:You'll heal your anxiety right here. Just breathe in for six seconds, hold it for eight, slowly release it for eight and hold it for another eight, and then do that 10 times. Watch what happens.
Speaker 1:Amazing. Well, let's start the breath work, let's do it, let's get set up. I hope you liked that episode. If you want more information or if you want to actually see the segment on the show, all of the ways to watch the Sabrina Soto show are in the show notes. Until next time,
