Welcome to a special edition of Redesigning Life. Many of you know I have a new show called the Sabrina Soto Show Out and I was able to invite amazing experts in their fields just to come in and have a great conversation. But because it's a show, we have to edit it down. Now, these conversations, they were so good that I wanted to publish the raw, unedited version, and that's what this episode is. You're going to hear action and you may hear a crew in the background, but I wanted to publish this so you can really listen to the entire chat. So here you go, please, on set and action.
Speaker 1:Michael Beckwith, I can't, I can't, I cannot believe you're in my house. This is my house. I know, michael, I don't think you understand that you have changed my life. I'm going to get emotional. You're the reason why I have this show. I know that you probably get this all the time, but you taught me the key to being grateful and you know I think it's something that I didn't understand how much it would unlock the universe for me and it changed my entire life. When I saw you, I watched the Secret before you were on Oprah and there was something when you started speaking on the Secret that it was as if the universe unlocked possibility for me. So can you teach or can you tell the viewer? This whole show is about your roots and embracing your roots and embracing the things, the adversities you've come through, to be where you are. And even if somebody is going through something, can you explain to the viewer just your philosophy and how gratitude really is the key to joy. Thank you, I know that was a very, very long introduction. I apologize.
Speaker 2:No, it's okay. And what you said about me assisting to change your life, that's the music to my heart and my ears. That's why I do what I do, and gratitude is the key that unlocks the door. It's like it's a vibrational frequency, and when one trains themselves to be grateful, opens themselves up to even taking baby themselves to be grateful, opens themselves up to even taking baby steps to be grateful for anything, the vibration of your body is lifted and we tap into the field of infinite possibilities that begin to flow through us. It's as if you know we may have heard this when you were growing up you know, if you don't stop crying, I'm going to give you something to cry about.
Speaker 2:Yes, Well, the universe says if you don't stop being grateful, I'm going to give you something to be grateful for. So what happens is you create a vibrational match to unlock possibilities that you may not even know exist because they're outside of your present way of thinking. But just being in the field of gratitude opens up possibilities, opportunities, possibilities are amplified. You begin to see things that previously may have been there, but you couldn't see them before because the perceptual windows were dirty with complaining or worrying, anxiety, anxiousness. So it's a practice, it's a training, but it literally changes the chemicals in your body. You begin to produce tonic chemicals that amplify the immune system, create a coherence around the brain. You basically change your biology by being grateful, yeah, and then opportunities open up.
Speaker 1:I start my day with five things to be grateful for. I even created a journal that my daughter and I do in the mornings, and it's something that's free, right. But I think a lot of people who are listening to this maybe aren't in a space where maybe they don't like their job or they don't like their partner, so they say, well, I don't want to tell the universe thank you for the thing I'm not happy with, because then I'm just telling the universe that I'm okay with it. So can you explain the philosophy behind that?
Speaker 2:It doesn't work like that Right, when you shift your attention to something to be grateful for, there's like a I call it energetic shape-shifting. So let's say you have a part of your life that you don't like, you place your attention on the part of your life you're grateful for and since we are not really totally flesh and blood, we are vibrational beings we start to shift the vibration of our being, which begins to alter even the areas in our life we don't like.
Speaker 1:So if you are just finding that, okay, I don't like my job, but I do have a washer and dryer that works Absolutely.
Speaker 2:My heart is beating, I'm alive, I exist. So what happens? I become available to guidance and wisdom that can now come to me intuitively or through direct knowing that assists me in changing those other areas of my life. Now, if I continue to just complain about those other areas of my life, I'm in resistance to them and I amplify it Right. But if I shift my attention to what I'm being grateful for at the same time, beginning to create a vision, beginning to articulate what I do want, the energy flows in that direction Right, because everything is vibration.
Speaker 1:Can you explain that to you? When you and I spoke and I wanted you to be on the show I speak about vibrations, but I think when people hear vibrations and universe and all these words, they either think two things it's too woo-woo and, you know, it's a little too out there, a little too hippie granola, right, right right. Or it's they think, well, I'm religious. Or you know, I can't believe in vibration because I believe in, you know, fill-in-the-blank God.
Speaker 2:Yeah Well, today all of what we're saying is science. Forty years ago it was woo-woo, but today you can actually get on a machine and measure the thought forms. You can actually do biofeedback and actually measure your thinking. And there are some thoughts that are vibrating low and there's some thoughts like love, gratitude, peace, compassion, kindness. They vibrate at a much higher oscillation. So it's not woo-woo anymore, it's now scientific. So if an individual trains themselves to stay in gratitude, scientific. So if an individual trains themselves to stay in gratitude, they're actually in a higher vibratory field which, like attracts, like you actually bring into your life those same kind of vibrations, those same kind of people, circumstances and situations that match that. Yes, it's a vibrational match Right.
Speaker 1:It feels like magic when I'm vibing. And it is like magic to me because out of nowhere I'll get an email, Out of nowhere I'll get a phone call, Out of nowhere I'll bump into somebody and it is. I can't explain it, but it works that way. But then when I'm in a funk, things start going wrong, Things start breaking around the house, so it really does work that way.
Speaker 2:It's like attracts, like that's the law of attraction, yes, and then what happens is the law of attraction is a linguistic convenience, for actually we have everything we want within us as spiritual beings. For people who absolutely believe in God, as you were saying, we're all spiritual beings having a human incarnation. We arrived on the planet with everything. We are fully franchised expressions of the infinite, but we have to unpack it. So with that awareness, when we begin to activate the law of attraction, we begin to feel gratitude, thanksgiving, appreciation, we start to actually go into what I call the law of resonance. We start to resonate with the feeling that I already have something, and then that goes into radiation. We start to radiate that feeling. And then what happens after that? It starts to show up, it condenses itself. We call it manifestation, it manifests. The invisible becomes visible. So you go from attraction to resonance, to radiance manifestation. So people have to train their mind and heart to stay in the gratitude vibration.
Speaker 2:Sometimes it's hard, it is. So there's like three levels of gratitude Find something to be grateful for, you know. And then there's being grateful for even the challenges, because the challenges carry seeds of activating potential. Can you explain that a little bit more? There are gifts within us, there are powers within us. There's intelligence within us, but sometimes a challenge coaxes it out of us, right? You know, we don't try to run away from challenges. We say that challenges we learn how to navigate challenges, so it activates our potential. A challenge is a gift in work clothes. And then, as so as we begin to look at life, challenge is a gift in work clothes. Right, it's coming to teach us something, there's a lesson in there. And then the third level of gratitude one is being grateful for something. Two is being grateful for the challenge Difficult. Thirdly, you start to grow into an awareness where you're just grateful for nothing, right, you just have an attitude of gratitude. And then what happens? The universal presence fills that up with more and more to be grateful for. Yep no-transcript.
Speaker 1:I had my whole family. We went through a really hard financial time At that time. I was a teenager and I felt like my life fell apart. Yes, it was awful, but I wouldn't be where I am now had it not been for that challenge. I was in my early 20s and I was in a job that most people would say is successful. I was making good money, but I was miserable. I was miserable and I watched the Secret A friend had introduced me. I had to pay $4.95 to download it because it wasn't the book yet, it was just on the computer.
Speaker 1:And that night, after watching the Secret, I fell asleep. I woke up for some weird reason, at 4 o'clock in the morning. I couldn't go back to sleep, so I wanted to be on TV doing something creative. I didn't know what that opportunity would be and I went on Craigslist and there was a job posting. It didn't say what it was for, but they were looking for someone who had TV credit and was a designer. I threw in my resume. That was my first HGTV show. Had I not woken up at 4 o'clock in the morning, had I not watched the Secret the night before, had I not sent that email, my life wouldn't be where I am now. And so that goes to show you. I didn't have connections in Hollywood, I didn't have an agent, I didn't have anything. But because what happened was I watched it and I remember your face and, knowing that anything is possible, I started going well, it's going to come to me. I just knew it. And I started training for a job I didn't even have yet. So can you explain that?
Speaker 2:You said I knew it. Yes, I knew it. So you were already in the feeling of it happening before it manifested. That's what the whole teaching is about. It is done unto you as you believe. Now we would say it is done unto you as you feel. So you felt your way into that dynamic and it had to show up. Four o'clock is a good time to wake up, really. That's when I wake up every Sunday. I wake up at four. Why? Because I have to get ready to go speak at Agape. Yes, so you know four o'clock is really. There's no psychic energy in the air, there's no debris, there's no mental debris, because most people are sleeping. So you wake up at four. There's a clarity. So you woke up at four. Your intuition guided you to look on Craigslist, for that's a weird place to look it was.
Speaker 1:You can get free sofas and jobs on television, your career got jump-started. Yeah.
Speaker 2:But it was your intuition and your direct knowing from the feeling tone that it's happening. And that's where we have to have people live. We have to live in the feeling tone that it's happening. It's happening right now and then it unfolds. Now that's a training. People have to actually monitor their thought, monitor their conversation. What's coming out of your mouth, you know until you're actually sitting in the feeling of gratitude.
Speaker 1:You brought up agape, you invited me and the experience I think was just I can't explain it the vibration that was in that center, your teachings, it was something I think a lot of people, everyone, should experience. But can you explain to somebody who's watching, like, how did you get started? How did you start the Agape Center?
Speaker 2:Agape Center is celebrating its 38th year. I'm the founder, so that's kind of a long story, but anyway, I had to give up my resistance to starting a spiritual community. You know, I had a very intimate relationship with the presence I call it the presence, that's never an absence and so I was a spiritual therapist, you know. I worked with people five to eight people every single day, six days a week, and I was pulled to start a community. I didn't want to, I wasn't trying to be a public person, but eventually I had to yield to that calling. Why?
Speaker 1:didn't you want to be a public person?
Speaker 2:I was kind of shy. You know I liked the small groups. You know I had a destiny call to speak and I went to speak one time and it was natural it flowed for me. But you know, when you're getting ready to start a whole spiritual community, people say you know, when you're dying, your whole life flats in front of you. Well, that's what happened to me when I started a community. It was like my whole life, what am I doing?
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:But eventually I couldn't say no to the inner calling. My whole life, what am I doing? But eventually I couldn't say no to the inner calling, and so it's one of the most inclusive spiritual communities in the world, in the United States. Everybody's there, as you saw. Everyone's there. All religions, cultures, ethnicities are all in there, celebrating the divine presence that's within all of us, called by millions of names, and so it's a wonderful place for regeneration, healing, renewal, inspiration celebration right there. It's beautiful.
Speaker 1:If somebody's watching this and they feel sort of stuck in a rut, where do you think what's the easiest way to start transformation?
Speaker 2:where do you think what's the easiest way to start transformation? There's so many techniques. What you can do is when you go to sleep at night, right before you go to sleep, you can just write down what it is that you really want in life. Not ego desires, but what do you want your life to look like? Just write it down. You know, I like to have a life in which there's a tremendous amount of peace, prosperity, health. You know, write it down. You can even be a little bit more specific and then, right before you fall asleep, you read that you feel that it's happening. What does that feel like? Then you go to sleep. That starts to work on your subconscious mind.
Speaker 1:While you're sleeping.
Speaker 2:While you're sleeping. Then, when you wake up, let that be the first thing you read. Don't jump on social media, don't look on your phone. Read it. You're still sleepy. Now it's called the hypnagogic state You're in between sleep and awake, so your mind can be programmed better. You just read it, you feel that it's happening and you go on about your day finding something to be grateful for. That's one spiritual hack, so to speak, that will help jumpstart you, changing your subconscious tendencies.
Speaker 1:I know that hack of like the feeling is where the magic happens and the way that I understand it. Please tell me if I'm wrong, like correct me if I'm wrong. When I want to manifest something, whether it's a job or a relationship, I pretend that it's happening. I close my eyes and I feel as if it's happening and I try to hold that for 17 seconds and I don't know where I made that up. I think I read that somewhere, but that vibration goes out into the universe and attracts that situation towards me.
Speaker 2:Is that true? We live in a return to cinder universe. Tell me about that Whatever you send out comes back Like karma. Yeah, so 17,. One to seven is eight, which is a number of manifestation. So you're actually feeling that it's happening and that is the key. You're doing it Perfectly.
Speaker 1:That's it. And I tell my daughter when I was trying to explain to her the law of attraction I mean she's so young but I said, imagine that you have angels up in heaven and they don't know. No, and yes, they only know what you're thinking about and when you're thinking about it they want to bring you more of that. So if you're thinking about bad things, they don't know that it's good or bad, they just bring you more. So try thinking of the good things constantly so that you get more of the things you want.
Speaker 2:You are describing the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind does not have a no or yes. It only knows what you're interested in. So if you're interested in love, if you're interested in beauty, peace, abundance, wellness, well-being, then that becomes a part of your personal law. Everyone has a personal law. There's a law of the universe, but we all have our personal use of that law. Most people are using it unconsciously. They've been programmed by environment, circumstances, conditions and situations. But what you're teaching your daughter is to have a personal relationship with the law by constantly placing her attention on what she wants to experience, not what she doesn't want to experience. Right, because I'll do that. But but yeah, but it gets. You get what you're interested in. So if you're constantly thinking about what you don't want, the universe doesn't know you don't want that, right. It just knows you're thinking about it, right so they're like sure we'll give you more.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that's what you're thinking about, what you don't want.
Speaker 2:The universe doesn't know you don't want that, right? It just knows you're thinking about it, right? So they're like sure, we'll give you more. Yeah, that's what you're thinking about. Yes, so you have to shift and become interested in beauty, interested in love, interested in abundance, interested in joy, interested in kindness, interested in service, and then that begins to multiply, magnify in your life.
Speaker 1:Yes, Multiply magnify in your life. Yes.
Speaker 2:What are your daily practices? What does Michael Beckwith do? I wake up and I generally stand and I'm grateful, I bow and surrender to life. Then I ask for the power to handle every assignment that comes to me. Today there's my assignment on my to-do list and then there's always things that come that aren't on my to-do list. Somebody calls I need some help, whatever the case may be, so I ask for that assignment. I go into the kitchen, I drink some warm water with minerals and lemon at the beginning, I make a special tea. I go to the gym, I work out, I come home, I make my smoothie, drink my smoothie, meditate and then get ready to go into the office.
Speaker 1:I saw that you brought me a smoothie.
Speaker 2:Yeah, we did.
Speaker 1:So can you tell me about this?
Speaker 2:This is a miracle, really.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Okay, tell me. People have always asked me you know, what do you do? You have a lot of energy, what do you drink, what do you eat, et cetera, and I have certain ingredients that I would make my smoothie with. So one day I was in Costa Rica and I'm writing down I want to design my own green drink. And I end up helping this man's wife who was going through some spiritual changes. So I finished working with her, sitting down, writing, and he says what are you doing? I said I'm writing down this green drink I want to develop and I start to describe what I wanted. And I went ashwagandha and I went all the super grains, et cetera, et cetera. And he says I'll do it for you. I said you'll do what. He said I own Neutral Rise. He said you've helped my wife. You tell me the ingredients. We'll have our chemists and biologists work on it. So they took what I wanted and created this green drink. So what would have taken me a few years to put together happened inside of a year. Do?
Speaker 1:you see what this?
Speaker 2:is.
Speaker 1:Well, of course, you're the master of it, so it happened Do you see it and you're like yeah, I know, I am the one who teaches this.
Speaker 2:So before a year was out, this was created. This superfood greens drink. It's called Adaptazin Adaptazin From NutriRise.
Speaker 1:And what do you mix it with?
Speaker 2:Water. Well, this particular one is almond milk that I made myself. Of course, you did Blueberries, avocado, the superfood, greens and some protein powder. Please, it's a basic one.
Speaker 1:So this is how you start your day.
Speaker 2:Oh Wow, does it taste good.
Speaker 1:That's delicious. Yeah, that tastes like a vanilla milkshake.
Speaker 2:It's magnificent, but it has all of your minimum daily needs for your body dimple. That's a meal. This is a meal. My daughter would love this too. Yeah, the teenagers love it because they don't have to hold their nose to drink it.
Speaker 1:Yeah, oh, my gosh Michael, that is so good so.
Speaker 2:I don't leave the house without drinking that.
Speaker 1:I'm not going to either. No wonder you're glowing, michael. Leave the house without drinking. That I'm not going to either. No wonder you're glowing. Michael, I cannot thank you enough. I really. I started off telling you how I'm so grateful for you. I cannot believe. I don't know if you remember the first time I saw you, I was on a panel and you walked in the room and I audibly gasped Like I could not believe I was in your presence. So the fact that you're sitting here in my house am I dreaming?
Speaker 2:You're dreaming yourself awake.
Speaker 1:I feel like I am dreaming right now. This is beautiful, I cannot thank you enough for how I'm going to cry again, how you've changed my life and how I knew you before I had my daughter and because of you I've created this life for me and her Beautiful, and you've allowed me the. You've given me the strength to know that I am responsible for my own life.
Speaker 2:Yes.
Speaker 1:And that I have the anything is possible.
Speaker 2:Yes, yes, responsibility means the ability to respond rather than react, I know so you have now moved into the space of responding to life from the feeling tone of gratitude and thankfulness and appreciation. So then, life brings that right back to you in ways beyond your wildest imagination.
Speaker 1:I'm beyond grateful for you. I'm beyond grateful for your time. I cannot thank you enough.
Speaker 2:Cheers. Thank you for the invitation.
Speaker 1:Cheers. You've inspired me. You've inspired me to create this life, to create this show. I hope that you're also inspired at home to make the small changes, to redesign your life too. You're the best.
Speaker 2:We're becoming our inner architect for our own design. Designer jeans. I love that Spiritual designer jeans.
Speaker 1:There you go.
