Good morning everyone. Okay, this is one of those times that I am walking and I have an idea and I'm like, oh, I need to capture that. And I thought, well, this is just something I should capture and put on Amy Uncut. I have been thinking. I haven't been thinking, this just came to me, but I had this analogy of balance. So obviously, as a personal trainer and as someone who trains women over 40, I work a lot with people on balance and, depending on the conditioning level that they come in at, balance may be harder or easier, but it definitely decreases as we age.
Speaker 1:Often, when I'm first working with someone and balance is new to them, it is really challenging and so we will often use a roller to help stay, you know, just to kind of give ourselves a little help. You'll see some wobbling or toppling at a minimum. You'll see kind of knees going back and forth and ankles but going back and forth, and it's really hard and then, as we practice it more, it gets easier. We don't need the roller. We don't topple as much I'm think we still kind of do sometimes, but you know, it just gets stronger.
Speaker 1:And I started thinking. I think balance is also. That analogy is great when we are talking about balancing our holistic health, food, exercise, all of that. It can be hard to find balance in that, especially those of us who have grown up with extremes one way or another Maybe it's extreme dieting, maybe it's extreme exercising and finding that balance and taking it down a notch can feel destabilizing to continue the analogy. But as we practice it, we feel more comfortable in it and it gets easier.
Speaker 1:So my encouragement to you is, wherever you are trying to find balance in your life, that you just keep practicing it, you keep training yourself, and you're gonna have some topples, you're gonna have some stumbles, your ankles may wobble, but the more we do it, the more at peace we are with it and the better we get. So there is my balancing and analogy. Thank you for being a place where I can just record my thoughts as I finish up a nice gentle walk of three miles at a moderate pace, because that is what balance means to me today. Love you guys, thank you as always for being a supporter and I'll see you next week.
