Your reproductive years in your reproductive years, your brain is marinated in estrogen. Estrogen is the caretaking hormone. It makes you want to nurture to smooth things over, you know, to connect. But in menopause, the veil lifts, the estrogen drops, and suddenly you see things. Clearly. You see the inequality at work. You see the imbalance in your marriage. This can feel like rage.
